epete
I purchased Polisy during the pre-release and have never really figured out what to do with it. I was able to log in and it has been sitting on my network with nothing running on it ever since; that is until today when the power went out in my house for 10 minutes. When the power came back all three liLEDs flask and Polisy keeps beeping. I unplugged it and powered it back up and get the same. I hope it isn't broken. epete
Thanks. So I followed the steps Polisy Keeps Beeping Networking Issue Make sure you have connected the network cable to the right jack on the back of the unit (the right most when Polisy is facing you) - correct port used Make sure the unit has Internet connectivity since, in some cases, it must download the latest packages upon first installation - connected to internet Make sure your ISY is running firmware 5.0.16+ and is on the same network as Polisy -5.0.16c Latest Packages Not Installed If the above does not work, you will need an ssh utility (such as putty) to connect to Polisy over the network: 1. ssh admin@polisy (you can change polisy to the IP address of your unit) 2. Default password is admin. Once this process is done, please change it 3. Run the following commands: Polyglot is opn 192.168.1.196 sudo service polyglot stop - executed sudo service udx stop - executed and beeping stopped sudo pkg update - Deemed to download something sudo pkg upgrade - said repositories up to date sudo service polyglot start - returned to beeping sudo service udx start login as: admin Using keyboard-interactive authentication. You may need to have all your packages on the latest version. I've upgraded and this is the version that's reported at the prompt: FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p10 r365882 POLISY You might try running this: sudo pkg update && sudo pkg upgrade Reboot upon successful completion of the upgrade. I didn't include the post I was responding to. I was responding to Bumbleshoot, demonstrating that I have the same latest polisy O/S version, the same as he does. gzahar
My login shows: FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p1 r355229 POLISY When I would check the web UI for updates it just disappeared after a while and didn't indicate if updates were available or not. Ran 'sudo pkg update && sudo pkg upgrade' and it went through an installation process after which I rebooted Polisy. Now the 'check for Polisy updates' returns no updates available (as I would expect). Curious if the -p1 (which I still get) vs -p10 release information is an issue. (no problems with Polisy that I am aware of) Edited November 1, 2020 by gzahar
Michel Kohanim
@gzahar, It's really not an issue since those are minor releases. Once we get to 13, then the system will allow you upgrade it. Do you have any issues now? With kind regards, MIchel

While certificate verification can be disabled via "cert_reqs = 'CERT_NONE'", it's highly recommended to leave it on. Various consumers of net/py-urllib3 already have implemented routines that either explicitly enable or disable HTTPS certificate verification (e.g. via configuration settings, CLI arguments, etc.). Yet it may happen that there are still some consumers which don't explicitly enable/disable certificate verification for HTTPS connections which could then lead to errors (as is often the case with self-signed certificates). In case of an error one should try first to temporarily disable certificate verification of the problematic urllib3 consumer to see if that approach will remedy the issue. ===== Message from apr-1.7.0.1.6.1_1: -- The Apache Portable Runtime project removed support for FreeTDS with version 1.6. Michel Kohanim
@epete, Everything seems to be running. What exactly is the issue now? If still beeping, please submit a ticket. with kind regards, Michel
epete
ok, I will submit a ticket. Not exactly the same constant beeping. But after the SW update I have 3 LEDS Fast Blinking for 30 Seconds then goes down to two LEDs fast blinking then a beep with only one LED Blinking once followed by two beeps and back to all three LEDs blinking again (this sequence constantly repeats itself.) TriLife
greetings; I also had Polisy beeping this morning, followed the instructions in the manual. the beeping stopped, but the whole system is behaving bizarrely, not connecting to ISY anymore, and Polisy Log (from local) is now back to admin/admin... followed the instructions with SSH, but of course they don't change the admin/admin default at all. Corrupted Database ssh admin@polisy (you can change polisy to the IP address of your unit) Default password is admin. Once this process is done, please change it <----- HOW HOW HOW???? Run the following commands sudo service mongod status. If it's not running, then: sudo rm -rf /var/db/mongodb sudo reboot Ran the sudo recommended above, here's the result. no change in behaviour. And yes, submitted a ticket... Last login: Sat Nov 21 15:06:09 2020 from 192.168.10.190 FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p1 r355229 POLISY Welcome to Polisy! With kind regards, Michel Hi @Michel Kohanim; not sure about the ticket number. I haven't received an acknowledgement to my mail to support (Polisy crashed and now unstable sent Sat, 21 Nov, 14:57 (3 days ago) ). We seem to be back to the same bug, that I don't get replies to my mails... I had brought that up some months ago (to Brad, I think, when I was first struggling with Polisy). cheers;
