ctownj30 Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 I recently moved and rather than do a factory reset of my ISY, I simply deleted all devices (Insteon and Zwave) so that as I rebuild things, I can have access to all my old programs as models (and to avoid doing the high level config again). I have one zwave device that will not delete for some reason. I can delete it and it disappears, but when I log out and back in, it shows back up. Its strange too because I'm not even totally sure this is a device I ever had in the first place (don't think I had anything with a Glass Break Alarm or Intrusion Alarm???). Any idea what is going on here? Also, am I going to regret not just doing a factory reset before rebuilding? Thanks! -dan
lilyoyo1 Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 You'll probably regret things. I tried that once and quickly realized it took me more time that way than had i done things properly from the start. One thing about systems such as the Isy is that shortcuts usually hurt more than they help. When you delete a zwave device, you're only deleting the node from the console. The information is still retained by the board. To truly remove something, you have to do an exclude. If I were you, I'd factory reset the zwave board and isy for a fresh start. You can always copy your programs (i prefer pictures) somewhere to use as a cheat sheet 1
ctownj30 Posted December 26, 2020 Author Posted December 26, 2020 Ok - going "full factory" - thanks!
DennisC Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 (edited) Have you tried right clicking the device and selecting zwave - synchronize? Edited December 26, 2020 by DennisC clarification
