2342-242 unsupported device when adding

Featured Replies

Just picked up a few single remote linc switches (2342-242).  When I try to add it in the system, I get an un-supported device. Any idea what's going on?

yes, it does blink green.  I hold the set button for like 3sec, green starts to blink.  The linking comes back very quickly, looks like it talks to the device, then I get unsupported device.

Have you tried selecting the device in the device dropdown?  Fortunately the mini-remotes are all near the top of the list.

same thing after factory reset.  Updated firmware / UI to latest beta. 5.3.2, same thing happens.  Used to be 5.3.0.

Here is the event log:

I believe "Reason 10" means that the Device Category and/or Sub Category aren't found in the ISY device database.  If I'm reading your Event Viewer Log correctly, when the ISY sends out a Device ID command, the device returns a Category of FF, a SubCategory of FF and a version of 39.  The documentation I've scratched together over the years seems to indicate the Cat and SubCat of FF means that software will assign the category and subcategory to the device.  Your best course of action is probably to open a ticket with UD.  If the device category and subcategory truly aren't recognized by the ISY, it could mean that Smarthome has made a change that UD is unaware of.

That would make sense to me.  Maybe a silly question, but where do I open a ticket with UD?

Thanks.

opened a ticket with UD.  They came back saying the device is broken/mis configured and they are probably right.  The device should report back a category 00 and subCat 1C.  I bought a 2nd switch in the same order and that one works.  Thanks for all the help:
