How to reverse meaning of ON / OFF ??

I have an emergency light that turns light off when power is applied, and on when power is off.
(a battery backup LED light that comes on when the power goes out)

I'm using it as the light in my garage, so I use an Insteon plug-in module to turn the charger to this
light on and off on a normal day-to-day usage (and when the power goes out... poof, it's on)

I would like to reverse, so when i say, hey google turn garage ON, it turns the Insteon switch OFF.

I have my mini-switches working by using a program, so i can reverse the "then" logic.

Any ideas?

Hi Fred.

The easiest way I can think of is, to let Alexa control a program instead of the device directly and put the On in the Else, and the Off in the Then sections.

Hi @johnstonf, I may be missing something but why can't you use a program with the reverse logic and fire the program with google? I use Alexa and can run programs true/false by saying turn on/off the program name or spoken. Or maybe google doesn't operate the same?

Hey Larry!  I'm on Google, so I then have to say "Hey Google RUN XXX" instead of "Hey Google TURN XXX on/off", which others (ok my wife) finds really hard to remember to say.  How do you speak it on Alexa?

I was using GH also. The syntax is the same. You define the program as a switch (on/off device) in the ISY Portal, and use the same old syntax.

Hey Google. Turn on/off the XXXX

I have a hundred or more comands and they are all the same.

Alexa, Turn On/Off Louder

Alexa, Turn On/Off Muting

Alexa, Turn On/Off Softer
