ISY 5.1.1 Is Now Available

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

This is a rather major release for ISY on Polisy:

1. Fixed websocket causing crash
2. ISY Launcher can now automatically find ISY on Polisy (no need to add)
3. Just like regular ISY, you will be notified of available upgrades on the Admin Console. And you can choose Help | Automatically Upgrade to have Polisy upgrade ISY. Unlike regular ISY, you cannot manually upgrade ISY from the Admin Console (you can still do through ssh). So, hopefully no more ssh
4. Added lat/long for Oswego (minor)

Instructions:

sudo pkg upgrade udx
sudo pkg upgrade isy
sudo service udx restart
sudo service isy restart

With kind regards,
Michel

Nice enhancement.

Any timeline update on migrating an ISY to the Polisy.?

How long before the Polisy will be able to support Zwave. Are the 700 series dongles available?

@Michel Kohanimany point in UDI getting a mass buy of Zwave sticks and reselling them to keep uniformity, ease of purchase, and good pricing?

Also, are both PLM and Zwave stick going to fit into the top and bottom USB hardware ports without an extender or splitter?

UPDATE: amazon.com is sold out of the Zooz Zwave stick+. However Canadian amazon is not yet.

Aartech.ca has a Homeseer Smart Stick+ and Zwave Zwave Interface. I don't know if it is compatible or even similar though. Looks similar.

2. We are using Zooz 700 Series stick. They seem to be in stock

Curious why you're not developing with the official Silicon Labs UZB7 USB Stick?  The UZB7 stick is the reference standard for development and it's cheaper as than the Zooz stick.  It's also in stock at Mouser.com and other distributors.

Zooz is claiming 1000' range while the Silicon Labs claims 100m = 331' ?

Very interesting claim.  I can see that with Z-Wave LR...maybe.  Riddle me this though.  Since the actual Z-Wave chip is made by Silicon Labs who's specs are more valid?

Exactly. Now I see 250' indoors and 1000' outdoors???

Would be nice to have a 2-3' USB cable on it for vertical or higher up mounting though. Sticking between a metal case and a solid (concrete?) wall can't be much good for RF propagation.

Highly doubt the serial interface is any different than the reference design from SiLabs.

The nice thing about the Si stick is you can always get the latest & greatest firmware.

The Zooz is claiming programmable also. My guess would be they are clones except for possibly the antenna design. But what is a 2" antenna worth anyway?

Strange!
amazon.com still shows the same "not available" for me.  (Yes I refreshed the page) Going to their store in amazon.com and clicking on their link it shows the same "not available" and "we don't know if this will ever return".

This may possibly be because they have a store on amazon.ca and it is available there also. Much more expensive but usually after the shipping charges from the USA by amazon.com, it costs more to buy there anyway. Then warranties are void, and returns typically cost more than the product is worth.

No matter. I can get it locally anyway with actual free shipping.

Thanks asbril!

Are you aware that's not true in ISY-994 version 5.x?   Currently you need to discover the need to upgrade and then manually upgrade.  Last time I saw the notification in the admin console was version 4.x

I believe he meant to say if there was an official release vs Alpha, Beta, RC. The system would display it being available for update.

I bought the Zooz 700 Series Z-Wave Plus S2 months ago when I saw many other brands were not in stock. I figured I would take a chance that Polisy would support it someday. My luck appears to be good for a change.  ?

Strange indeed.  Mine arrives tomorrow, even though it may be a while before Polisy is ready for Zwave.
