Incorrect Alexa Hint

I'm not sure if this is true, but I can't add any Kasa device to alexa. Suggested on UD forums to ask to make sure hints are set correctly. For the H105 plug it probably should be category of 0x04 and a subcategory of 0x02, I think.

Also added to Github.

Thanks, Jeff

Sure, I can look into that sometime, but doesn't Kasa have an Alexa method already? Why use it through the ISY?

Mostly because then I have to maintain 2 different integrations.  The alexa integration is cloud based and it seems the NS is local, no?

I believe the Node server does use Kasa's local API. However, with Alexa being cloud based, the Alexa connection would still be cloud based. I think it's smart on your part to have 1 integration though.

@lilyoyo1 True, but baby steps for now.  There are some local only voice activations I am looking into.

There are no local voice activations unless you're designing your own. Both Alexa and Google integration goes through the portal which is cloud based which then talks to Google or Amazon which is also cloud based.

You can test this by turning off your internet. Without an outside connection, you spoken commands will not work

@lilyoyo1There are local voice activations currently in development (almond/Ada). They will be integrated with HA.

This is an Isy forum you're commenting on so i responded based on using the Isy. You also stated using the device with Alexa and not other voice options.

The hard part is accurate voice recognition, speaker, and wake word. Google is, in my opinion, the best out of all I've tested.  I built a project over 5 years ago which uses the downloaded voice models on android. So it would work on intranet without  access to internet.  I still use it for most of my voice actions as it is quicker than the Google Home and has chaining commands.
