PG3 3.0.50 Upgrade Issues

Featured Replies

Posted

I just upgraded PG3 to the latest 3.0.50 version and The WirelessTag data is no longer updating. I'm looking at the Node Details and don't see the values changing. The Log is also not updating. I've tried Stopping, Starting and Restarting but nothing helps. Even tried a shutdown on Polisy but to no avail. Any ideas?

Having the same problem after 3.0.50. Submitter log for ELK wich is having the same problem.

@JimboAutomates Also looks like HarmonyHub and HueEmulator are stuck.

This is a PG3 issue which seems to affect all NS's, will have to wait for more info from @bpwwer

Jimbo- sure you saw it but latest version 3.0.52 fixed all my node servers except wireless tags (and Ecobee seems slow but thats no big deal)

@JimboAutomatesHi. It looks like my  WirelessTag NS wasn't working with 3.0.52 so I did a Polisy shutdown and then waited a few minutes and now it is working. Checked a couple tags and the data is getting thru to IoP. The NS log is also running again. Could be okay now.

Thanks, I've not had a chance to look into any issues, glad it's working.

Just tried this theory.  Did not work.  Even tried installing in a different slot.  I cant get by the errors.  Kind of wish I did not try the delete and install.

as a test I went back to Pg2 version and working fine. I will leave there until I am asked to test again for pg3 version

I just did as well. All seems right here as well.

Sorry but everything came up but now it wont even let me install WirelessTags.  (before it would install but not allow me to authenticate) See screenshot.  I will send PG3 log via PM

Just sent to him (already sent to you so please ignore).

Sorry to be such a pain to you guys.  If there is a bug I will find it.

Thanks for all your help.

@macjeffNot your fault.  Different node servers do different things and I can only test with some of them.  I also tend to test just what I think I'm changing so sometimes I miss things.

I was actually thinking of getting a Wireless tag or two just so I could test, but didn't, at least not yet.

I have some extra if you want to borrow.  But you should be able to setup account and install Node server without even having one.

One thing about this Node server that’s really different is in the controller (in admin) there is option to monitor tags and you have to set to true as on mine it defaults to false.  So out of the box it does not even add the tag nodes.  It just monitors the hub.

But I am always willing to test a beta before you release it. Just let me know what you need.

I attempted to reinstall my HarmonyHub Node server and I'm getting the same error @macjeff reported above.

I've kind of lost track as we've gone through the progression from PG3 3.0.50 to 3.0.53 but I thought it was running before I upgraded to 3.0.53.

I am seeing this in the Polyglot log repeating every minute:

3/26/2022, 07:42:49 [pg3] error: unhandledRejection REPORT THIS!: [object Promise], reason: TypeError: store.getPurchaseEntry is not a function

I did an install on my dev box and got the same error, so it's not just you @macjeff

Thanks Jimbo.,  I hope Michel reads this.  He always says its ALWAYS YOU,

But again THANKS for taking the time to test.   Have a great weekend.

I am sure it was.  WirelessTags was working for me too before but was sending old data.  So I deleted it and reinstalled it. The reinstall worked with 3.0.50 but would not authenticate.   In 3.0.53 it would not even install.

I think you may be onto something.  And I think Jimbo and Bpwwer already know this.  Some node servers have an API key and those are all working for me.  I think Harmony is like wireless tags that it authenticates to Logitech.

UPDATE- My harmony is working on 3.0.53 but it is already installed.  So it must be just the install thats broken.  A support file of some sort is not being installed that it needs but if you already had it installed you are fine.

Thats my best guess.

Makes sense. I was attempting to run a purge in HarmonyHub and when it didn't successfully complete, I discovered the Node server had crashed and wouldn't restart. That's why I regretfully attempted to reinstall it after apply updates in Polisy to make sure everything else was up to date.

3.0.53 broke a lot of already installed node servers for me. When looking at the IoP admin console:

  • WirelessTags shows the Node Server Connection as "1" and "Commumicating" is "False" and no data is being received for any tags in the console.
  • Harmony shows Node Server Connected as "Connected" but Profile Status is "Uninitialized" and doesn't change if I try to install, build, or update the profile.  No data is being displayed for any devices.
  • Kasa shows Node Server Online as "Connected" but no data is displayed for any devices.
  • Sense shows Status as "True" but no data is being received for any devices.

I've restarted/rebooted IoP (5.4.1) and node servers and that doesn't help.

Not sure about Sense but Kasa basically scans your network for the devices.  No config needed.  I think Harmony does the same thing.   So that must be broken.

One thing you can try which was previously mentioned.  My KASA is working but I did this under 3.0.52 and it worked so now its still working.

Go into the Node server, click on LOG, then change the log level which is probably on Error or Warning to start.   Go out of Node server.  Then try it.  If it works you can go back and change your Node server.  Unless you want a bunch of Data, or they ask you to put on DEBUG, I would leave on Error.

Thanks @macjeff.  I changed the log levels and restarted the node servers, and data for WirelessTag and Sense devices now seem to be populating.  Data for some of the Kasa devices now shows up, but not all.  Harmony Node Server Profile now seems to work but the hub itself showed "offline" for a brief period, then came online and data populated for devices and activities.

Great!!  Its not the perfect fix.  I think the next version will fix Wireless Tag, Harmony, and Kasa for you.  I sent in my logs but you may want to download a log file and send it (PM) to bpwwr

At this point dont try the erase and install at this time because what you have working now is better than nothing.
