eisy received - and setup

I installed my eisy.

As prescribed, I used UD Mobile to connect the eisy.  I twice tried  the Wifi procedure without success and then Bingo at first attempt with ethernet . The whole installation  was fast and easy in maybe less than 5 minutes. Congratulations to UD for the simple process.

I already noticed that eisy opens fast and I can't wait to explore all new upcoming features.

The more intense part was adding the Zmatter board in the enclosure. That took some time. Getting the antenna connectors through the holes needed some insistence and one of the 2 antenna pins kept coming off the board. It was succesful at the end as the board was recognized by eisy and I added one Zwave device to make sure. Hopefully the antenna pin will stay on the board. I do not remember whether it is the Zigbee or Zwave pin.

I am waiting for the migration tool and will not be adding more devices.

The eisy shows up in my ISY Portal but with an expiring license. I probably will need to open a ticket with UD for this.

I also succesfully added eisy to my Home Asssistant as a second ISY and the one Zwave device shows up in HA. Apparently eisy automatically uses the Polisy connections to Alexa and Google Home.

Shortly after finishing the installation, eisy one time disappeared from the launcher and also showed as not connected in UD Mobile. It came back after a power cycling (removing USB C cable from eisy).

Remembering @brians ‘s description on Scene Association in 5.5 with the new board, I did not find any node like Basic Assoc Only . The one installed Zwave device is a Zooz Zen 04 700 series. It only shows 4 nodes : Basic Control, Binary Switch, Energy Meter and Power Alarm. Maybe it is specific to the device, something I do not understand or did wrong, or because I only have 1 device registered in eisy. I am sure that I’ll get this working eventually.

That is a plug and I am guessing probably doesn’t support basic set command - when would you be using the plug to physically turn on another device? The plug however should be able to be controlled by another device like a wall switch for example.

I found to make eisy's wifi active to be found by UD Mobile you have to press the multi function button twice to activate eisy's wifi setup.

Hello everyone,

WiFi setup requires you to double click the power button twice. If you don't, it's not going to work. If UD Mobile succeeds setting it up, then it'll automatically exists WiFi Setup. Otherwise, you can disable WiFi setup mode by double clicking the power button again.

Also, if you plugin the Ethernet cable, it'll automatically switch to Ethernet. If you unplug it, and if Wifi is setup, it'll switch to WiFi.

With kind regards,
Michel
