Write updates make no changes

I have two Zwave devices, a ZSE40 and a ZEN34 that display in the Polisy as if they need changes to be written to the devices.  I have executed "write changes" with no effect as well as under zwave "rewrite all device links".  Neither one updates the display.  All of my other Zwave devices appear normal in the Polisy Main menu.  Any idea how to fix this?

They are both battery operated.  They seem to be working (nodes display the proper information), however all the nodes need changes to be written.  It appears that I am not able to wake up the devices.  "Keep awake" is on, but "is awake" is false.  When I query the device, the "is awake" changes briefly to True, but then I get an error saying request failed.

Sounds like you have communication issues.

Isn't there a type of restore Zwave option or add/remove nodes? Don't remember exact language and I'm not in front of system.

Last resort would be exclude/include, but if you are having communication issues that might make things worse.

I had a ZSE40 doing the same thing. Based on another post, I was going to try writing changes right after inserting the battery (apparently they are awake for around 10 seconds after power up), but before I put the battery back in I noticed the 1011 icons had cleared. I think opening the case/tamper alert woke it up.
