What am I doing wrong with this subject variable?

Trying to use a variable in the subject line without much success.  This is what I entered but just returns the text vs the value. Thanks in advance.

Does it work if you try the same variable in the body instead?   (this will suggest if there's an issue with where it's used and opposed to not working at all.)

Doesn’t work in the body either

In your subject line, try using .raw after CLIHUM. Also, be sure there are no spaces in the node server string, from $ to the last }.

As an example:

Hum ${sys.node.n001_81668.CLIHUM.raw}%

For troubleshooting, I would also suggest, just using either the subject or the body for the variable, not both.

I agree, and I would suggest body... i can't remember why I think this, but it seems like there is/was/might be a long standing bug around displaying variables in the subject line.  Once it's working them move to putting it where you want it.

also, what node server is it specifically, in slot 2?

No go on the previous suggestion. Slot 2 is the AmbientWeather nodeserver. Guess I will have to wait for @Jimbo.Automates or @bpwwer for some thoughts.

What is your IoX, PG3, and notification node server versions?

Polisy 5.6.3, PGx 3.1.36, Notification 3.6.9

That's very odd.  Can you post a screenshot of the notification you receive?

That's strange, the n002_e868e786c58b_2 looks to be a valid node, so not sure why it's not showing up.  Can you delete it and type it in manually instead of being copied from the PG3 UI?  @Michel Kohanim @bmercier or @Javi any other ideas?

Unfortunately, same result when typed in manually.

Is it possible the node address is listed incorrectly on that screen?

Try opening a browser and entering (replace the "x's with your local IP address):

https://xxx.xxx.x.xxx:8443/rest/nodes/

Click through the warnings and enter your login information when requested. Then look for the node address.

As far as I can tell the ambient weather nodes do not show up with the above https

I would wait for @Jimbo.Automatesto confirm, but I would suggest reinstalling the node server in the same slot.

It sounds like to me the node server didn't install correctly.

Can you see the nodes in the Admin Console?

  • Author

Yes,

But if they don't show up in the rest nodes then something weird is going on. Try reinstall the NS in the same slot?

Looks like file is too big when zipped for the forum

Using Open Weather to do the same thing and mine works fine.  Both Subject and Body. This is PG2.  Guess they started using crazy strings for the address of the node instead of words like "weather".

I am using the Notification NS to get my Ambient Weather sensors with no problem. I am not home so can not copy my body of text but here is the end result.
