I've had this problems for over a month on my windows laptop and can't find a solution.

The  Admin console loads fine but when you click the programs tab it gets as far as "Create Scene Widgets" and gets stuck there for several minutes. The dialog box eventually goes away but you still can't see any of the programs.

The admin console loads just fine on my desktop windows PC

I've updated Jave and deleted "installed applications and applets"

I have the latest version of Iox.

Any ideas?

What is your version of IoX firmware and UI? Saying you have latest doesn't give us information to help you.

Try clearing your Java cache, being sure to check all 3 boxes. Afterwards, download a new start.jnlp from UD. Don't reuse an old one.

After running the new start.jnlp you will get the IoX Launcher on your desktop.

iOS is 5.7.0

java 1.8.0_381

pg3x 3.2.7

not sure what UI version you mean

i have cleared the Java cache multiple times (all 3 boxes)

no error messages in the event viewer and then I have to end the Java process as the admin console is locked up. I can still access the Eisy via other computer and UD mobile.

When you look at Help -> About in Admin Console it should give UI version. You're issue sounds like UI doesn't match firmware.

(Old screen shot for reference - make sure Firmware/UI match exactly)

If you're using the "Local" method to connect try the "Cloud" option once and see if that works. If that does then you're FW/UI aren't matching and you need to completely clear the Java cache as @DennisC suggested (checking all three boxes - even though you said you did that). Remove any start.jnlp or admin.jnlp you have on the computer and download a fresh copy from UD's site and clicking on "My ISY" (https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp)

I just updated all the packages yesterday, rebooted several times and still have the problem from before the reboots.

Reboot using AC or Reboot by pulling power?

Re-power was the only way I fixed it...

From an old post maybe will help....

Admin Console is very slow or hangs

  • If the admin console is slow to respond, it is likely you need to increase the amount of memory allocated to the Java runtime (JRE).
  • Open the Java Control Panel, select Java tab, press View button, then add or modify the Runtime Parameter -Xmx to the following:
    • -Xmx512m
  • Press Ok to close the window, then Press Apply to save the changes
