Upgraded to EISY and can't get into it with Launcher

I didn't have too much trouble with the upgrade once I got the admin console sorted on my PC, but the PC died (hard drive failure) and i have not been able to get my laptop to connect.  I have a fresh install of standard java and the launcher will open, but it does not find the EISY. trying to add by IP also fails.  I tried adding the new java web start to the firewall and that did not help.  tried disabling firewall and virus scan altogether (both windows defender) and that didn't work either.

I can see the eISY through the portal and I can go to port 3000 directly through a browser, but logging into portal or polyglot doesn't help me.  I need to change the time on the EISY.  all my nighttime lighting routines are off by a few hours.

machine is windows 11 if it matters.  thoughts?

Tried the clear cache with all three checked, ran start.jnlp again. Was using that same version as linked on the wiki that you are sent to from portal.  No change.  it can't find the eisy.  definitely same network since i can get into the polyglot console.

Not sure if this is in the directions: I had to physically reboot the eisy once or twice on first setup to access is and for it to access the new PLM i added to it

I had that happen to me 2 days ago. It had been running fine for weeks, then suddenly both my eisy and polisy wouldn't show up. Did the clear cache, full resintall of java, reinstall of launcher...no go. I ended up having to use the "add" button on the launcher to manually tell it where the devices were. Like this:

https://192.168.0.145:8443/desc

Just write in your own ip address. It worked for both devices. I then did a "save" to make it easier next time.

No idea why this suddenly happens.

@ScottAvery are you running any anti-virus or firewall software on the computer? Above you mentioned adding java to the firewall.

Be sure to turn off any anti-virus or firewall running on the computer that aren't the default Windows 11 system applications. Third party virus/firewall products have been known to cause issues similar to what you experience.

Since you are able to connect to the web PG3 portion perhaps trying to access the device using the URL available in the portal site (be sure you use your portal credentials when logging into the eisy).

Tools -> Select Tools -> Information -> ISY Information -> Admin Console URL

That should at least allow you to get into admin console to adjust your location/time zone.

adding the port worked.

I had found a reference to using this format without the port 8443:

https://192.168.0.145/desc

and that was failing.  connected right away with the port included.

THANKS!

Added note:

I do two steps after every upgrade, while I am on the same network::

1) open the launcher and make sure each of my paths to the eisy are there: (notice the different ports for https and http)

-https://{dyns server router address}:8443

-http://{dyns server router address}:8080

-https://my.isy.io/isy/{admin consule address from Portal}/desc

Then I hit SAVE and put it on my desktop. Then anytime I am having a problem with them loading, I simple hit LOAD and select this file.

I also save a text copy of each address (I happen to use 1Password, but it can be in any text file format: email, text, Note, etc) so that if I need to add one of them specifically, I can do that by copying from. the text file into the ADD button.

2) I to go to http://192.168.xx.xx:8080/admin.jnlp

A file will download. As a layman, I call this is a LOCAL copy of the AC. You use it just like the Start.jnlp file. It's called admin.jnlp.  The BEST thing about his is that it takes you directly to Login of the ISY in one FLAWLESS path. And it's much quicker.

I keep start.jnlp right next to admin.jnlp on my desktop and as long as I am LOCAL, I click on admin.jnlp.

Cheers.
