Guy Lavoie Posted Monday at 08:06 PM Posted Monday at 08:06 PM Now that it's officially out, lets discuss our observations and questions. My question is about this in the release posting: - Matter Initial support for light bulbs and plugin modules: -- WiFi direct. -- WiFi through a Border Router such as Google Nest Hub or Apple HomePod. -- Thread through a Border Router. Where does that leave the Zmatter dongle? Not functional yet, something else? Quote
Mark Sanctuary Posted Monday at 08:10 PM Posted Monday at 08:10 PM This release just dropped today (2/10/24). Who's installed it so far? 1 1 Quote
TUhl01 Posted Monday at 08:53 PM Posted Monday at 08:53 PM Installed about an hour ago. Do not see a tab to add a Matter device. Other, all seems to be as before update. Quote
Mark Sanctuary Posted Monday at 08:59 PM Posted Monday at 08:59 PM I upgraded without issues. It was smooth. The UDI phone app kept sending notifications about the progress. INSTEON working fine. I don't have any Zigbee or Z-Wave devices. Looking forward to the upcoming plugin mentioned in the release notes that will enable homekit. Quote
jsilver561 Posted Monday at 09:00 PM Posted Monday at 09:00 PM I have also installed with same issue of no clear way to add device. No option for this on UDMobile either. Quote
Mecheng70 Posted Monday at 09:10 PM Posted Monday at 09:10 PM (edited) I just upgraded without really knowing as I just happen to log in a the system was requesting a reboot. Then I clicked the upgrade no realizing it was a major upgrade. (saw email post click) Unit has been down for 30 minutes now (1240 PST). Edit: I am currently at an hour and the unit is not back up. OS was at 13.2 last time I checked Edited Monday at 09:44 PM by Mecheng70 OS Quote

Same here. Glad to hear I'm not the only user not seeing Matter in either application. A ticket has been submitted on my end. Just received this reply regarding my ticket on Matter not appearing: Javier Refuerzo wrote: Hi Thomas, Beta versions are awaiting approval from both Google (Android) and Apple (iOS). Usually gets released in 24-72 hours. 1 Quote
jec6613 Posted Monday at 09:33 PM Posted Monday at 09:33 PM After the upgrade, it's no longer sending the MAC to a router but a DHCP UID number (which is much longer) - anybody with DHCP reservations be sure to update them! Quote

I just checked my DHCP server, was much the easiest. It's standard BSD though so I'm sure you can find it via ssh as well. Quote

I now see the new "Matter" heading, after turning Matter support On in Configuration. My Polisy has the zmatter board in it. Quote

I got in by doing "ssh admin@192.168.0.137" (the IP address) Quote

Mecheng70 Posted yesterday at 01:15 AM Posted yesterday at 01:15 AM My upgrade isn't going so well. can't ssh into the device with the admin username and password. Can't connect with bluetooth, adding a monitor is able to see the login screen but the login screen will not allow me to pass it with the username/password (username and password was not and has not changed). Guy Lavoie Posted yesterday at 01:24 AM Author Posted yesterday at 01:24 AM Looks like your OS upgrade didn't go so well. 1 Quote
larryllix Posted yesterday at 04:45 AM Posted yesterday at 04:45 AM Looks like this will only be the second upgrade I won't install since v3.xxx when I bought my ISY994. Too scary and the upgrades don't matter yet. Quote
johnjces Posted yesterday at 04:50 AM Posted yesterday at 04:50 AM Looks like I won't be an early adopter! How long did this upgrade take for those of you that were successful? Thanks. John Quote

Andy P Posted yesterday at 10:19 AM Posted yesterday at 10:19 AM I did not see any issues at all after I left it alone for a half hour, came back and logged in, then let the admin console do the query all, looked at the devices and programs and seemed normal. Also, no issues with all of my javascript routines that scrape the rest interfaces of nodes, status, log, program, variables. I thought I might have an issue with some of the Polyglot nodes, but it turns out I just had to wait until they did their next polling cycle and then the status of the devices updated. So, all working BAU for me at least. Andy 2 Quote

oberkc Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Upgraded here. It took not much time, probably less than 20 minutes. All appears well, but I have not tried anything other than logging in and noting that the Admin console looks normal. (I don't see anything related to matter other than the ability to enable it under the configuration tab). Now...time to see if I can figure things out. Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago I just updated UD Mobile on my android phone (new version dated Feb 10), and the settings now show an option to add Matter devices, using QR codes. I haven't seen any options anywhere (in UD Mobile or admin console) to define Matter routers, however that's done or configured. Quote
