Administrator Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Please post any direct support issues here. This is still not direct support from UD, but a way to keep initial issues related to the release of v5.9.1 in a common area. For very serious and/or time sensitive issues please open a support ticket with UD. Quote
Geddy Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I would suggest that anybody rushing to upgrade make sure to pay attention to the "Before You Start" section in the release notes: BEFORE YOU START 1. It's imperative that you take a backup of your IoX, Z-Wave, and PG3 settings. 2. This upgrade is upgrading your OS. As such, the unit will reboot in the process and the Admin Console will simply get disconnected (does not close). Please do not turn off the unit till you can get back to the Admin Console. 3. If you have never upgraded your unit, it's best to make sure you have release 13.1 or 13.2 of the OS (https://eisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txt). If you do not, please do not upgrade. 4. In order to get Matter supported on WiFi, we had to change WiFi settings so that it will now use 802.11a/g which is significantly slower than 802.11ac that you are used to. Although you won't see much impact for command/control, download speeds for local Admin Console will be slower. It's our top priority to get WiFi back to the ac range you are used to. -- Polisy does not support Matter when connected using WiFi. Bold and red added for attention. As of now I'm not sure how you could get to 13.1 or 13.2 of the OS before getting this upgrade. 2 Quote
drprm1 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Prob dumb question but I already have 14.1 OS, okay to upgrade? Quote
GHenry Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Bug: In IoX 5.9.1, Programs/Summary, “Click [any] Column Heading to Sort” no longer works for me (does nothing). Quote
Geddy Posted February 10 Posted February 10 @drprm1 do you already have 5.9.1? Not sure how you'd have the OS 14.1 if not part of the 5.9.1 update. I know some were reporting having 5.9 recently, but wasn't sure if it was completely released in the wild yet. So it's possible you might already have 5.9 and just need to run updates to get to 5.9.1. However, since you've got 14.1 then I'd run it to get the IoX Firmware and possibly any PG3x updates applied. Let us know how the update process goes...maybe time it too. Hopefully running on an eisy. Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted February 10 Posted February 10 For anyone trying to log in with ssh, the usual "ssh admin@eisy.local" doesn't work (gives can't resolve error), but I got in by doing "ssh admin@<ip address>" Quote
drprm1 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Got 14 put on during a recent support session but not 5.9.1. Quote

I just logged into a 5.9.1. system and it did work for me. What version Java are you running? What is the exact firmware/UI on the Help -> About screen? (oddly enough for me first time I've noticed this that the time stamps for UI and Firmware don't match for the system I logged into) Quote
auger66 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) Followed the directions. After upgrade, my eisy was offline on the Portal, UD mobile, locally, etc. The eisy did show up on my network at the usual reserved DHCP address. Eisy also did not show up the ISY finder, even if I typed in the local IP address. I tried run ssh in windows and putty, but it wouldn't allow me to paste or type in a password. I repowered the eisy as felt I had no choice. My eisy showed up immediately in the ISY finder, and I was able to log in without issue. Edited February 10 by auger66 Quote

The sort works for me. Try clearing your java cache and reloading the IoX Launcher, also try a reboot on your eisy. Quote

bpwwer Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Looks like the upgrade replaced my user account on the Polisy with a udx_installer account. At least it didn't delete my home directory. Now I get to create a new account and move everything from the old account to the new account. Quote
stevesreed Posted February 11 Posted February 11 I clicked the "upgrade packages" button in the admin console, but nothing seems to happen. The console never closed or became unresponsive. The version in the admin console "About" dialog box is still v5.8.4 and the unix version is still "FreeBSD eisy 13.2-RELEASE-p11" What the best way to see what happening? Quote
stevesreed Posted February 11 Posted February 11 I was also having issue with loging in to PG3x, so I assume UDX was not working for some reason. A full system reboot seems to have fixed both the PG3x login issue and the update not working. Quote
stevesreed Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Everything is running now, except I've lost my Home Assist VM. Trying to recover that now. Quote
stevesreed Posted February 11 Posted February 11 (edited) adding the following to /etc/rc.conf got me back up and running: vm_enable="YES" vm_dir="zfs:zudi/vms" vm_list="homeassistant" NOTE: my zfs setup is a bit odd, it's probably vm_dir="zfs:/storage/vms" for anyone who set it up with the script that was available later to set things up. Edited February 11 by stevesreed removed iconfig_re0 lineat Michel's suggestion Quote
gviliunas Posted February 11 Posted February 11 MY polisy appears nearly bricked. After Upgrade Packages, it responds to ping but nothing else. All automation is non functional and PG3X web page doesn't respond. Quote
BamBamF16 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 So I upgraded as per the directions. I am on 5.9.1 now but the OS did not upgrade. Not sure what to do now. Quote
SSS Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Updated using UD Mobile, all good I do see 14.1 os, but cannot see anywhere it says add Matter devices, again using UD Mobile Quote
atomicboy Posted February 11 Posted February 11 I followed the instructions to the letter and updated. Everything came back and seems to work great however I am uncertain how to determine I have the new functionality. Where do I check and what should it be? Thanks! Quote

Guy Lavoie Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Just now, SSS said: Same with PC admin console, cannot see add matter That's right. Looks like initially, adding devices will only be done through the phone app. I also notice that there is no mention of the Zmatter dongle in the announcement: - Matter Initial support for light bulbs and plugin modules: -- WiFi direct. -- WiFi through a Border Router such as Google Nest Hub or Apple HomePod. -- Thread through a Border Router. Not sure if that means it will only be supported a bit later. Quote
