andrew77 Posted Monday at 03:17 PM Posted Monday at 03:17 PM I went to the page from this link ( https://eisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txt) in the announcement but I see many differing version numbers. This is at the top udx-3.9.0_9 Name : udx Version : 3.9.0_9 Installed on : Fri Apr 11 12:19:36 2025 EDT If the version is supposed to be above 13.2 I'm way behind? I read the part where my system could be bricked and want to tread lightly. This is the version number on the login window popup if that's what I'm supposed to be looking at. Quote
Solution Diesel Posted Monday at 03:28 PM Solution Posted Monday at 03:28 PM At the very top of the page your OS version is indicate in the line below *** OS *** What you posted is the UDX version. 1 Quote

MikeB Posted Monday at 03:32 PM Posted Monday at 03:32 PM I'm looking at this as well. The first line of my sysconfig.txt says: FreeBSD eisy 13.1-RELEASE-p7 FreeBSD 13.1-RELEASE-p7 #9 releng/13.1-n250182-00935d2e533c-dirty: Tue Feb 28 19:35:27 UTC 2023 Which seems too old. According to this link I should purchase a USB flash drive to upgrade: https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/45672-os-143iox-6-release-is-now-available/ Is there no other way to upgrade? What if I choose "Upgrade Packages" under the Admin Console Configuration tab? On a side note, my Admin Console is 5.6.0 which seems old. I am out of the loop and not sure the proper way to do updates anymore, or what updates I should be doing. EISY OS updates? Admin Console updates? BIOS updates?. I will need to research. Quote
andrew77 Posted Monday at 03:36 PM Author Posted Monday at 03:36 PM So my version then is this? Which seems to say 14.1 *** OS *** FreeBSD eisy 14.1-RELEASE-p6 FreeBSD 14.1-RELEASE-p6 #4 releng/14.1-n267727-74b6c983723c-dirty: Fri Nov 15 12:13:25 PST 2024 root@bsdev14.isy.io:/usr/obj/usr/src/amd64.amd64/sys/eisy amd64 *** Package Information *** If this is correct then I can just go ahead and upgrade? As Michel clearly states on that post " If your OS is below 13.2p11 please do not attempt the upgrade. It will brick your system." Either order the USB flash drive or file a ticket with UDI Support and ask if they'll send you the fw file to create a flash drive yourself, but DO NOT try to Upgrade Packages in AC! 3 minutes ago, andrew77 said: So my version then is this? Yes, your installed version is 14.1 which is newer than 13.2p11 so good to go. Be sure to take an IoX backup in AC and a PG3x backup. 1 Quote

Thanks I re-read, and you are right it is very clear! Thanks for pointing out. Just getting confused with some of the terminology as well. IoX is the traditional Admin Console? PG3 is Polygot (which I don't believe I use at all). Quote

MikeB Posted Monday at 03:51 PM Posted Monday at 03:51 PM Honestly I don't even know how to get into PG3. I migrated from an ISY and have not used any newer features. I use the ISY Launcher to open the Admin Console. How do I open PG3? *** EDIT - never mind, found it! Quote

Instructions: Backup your Z-Wave if any (Z-Wave | Backup) Backup your IoX (File | Backup IoX) Backup your PG3 Click on Upgrade Packages in Admin Console | Configuration tab. Do NOT use ssh as it will brick your system. Quote

Will it let me know when its done? I started about 54 minutes ago and the last message I got on my phone was PG3 is starting and that was 42 minutes ago Quote
andrew77 Posted Monday at 07:04 PM Author Posted Monday at 07:04 PM I'm still waiting for something on my computer telling me its okay to reboot etc. Its been about two hours since the last message which said PG3 is starting This is what my toolbar looks like I still have a red flag at the bottom of my GUI as well Quote

I have not updated yet so not sure if it does. I think after 2 hours would be okay to reboot. More than likely (are you on macOS?) the admin console window lost the connection to the device and isn't updating. If your mobile device said the device restarted it might be fine to force a reboot. Since I haven't updated not sure what to expect. Letting all you early adopters go through this before I take the plunge. I'm also not local to my device and don't want to blow an evening trying to update it just for a web ui that I don't really want/need to use. Quote

It asked me to use my Portal information and says the version is 6.0.0 Everything looks the same. Should it? Should I be logging in to a different spot? Quote
Geddy Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago 27 minutes ago, andrew77 said: Everything looks the same. Should it? Should I be logging in to a different spot? I'm assuming you're using IoX Launcher to get the Java version of Admin Console. The "eisy-ui" is a different method of attempting to use the admin console. It's still in the early stages of working, but seems to be good for most that are trying it out. I haven't tried it yet. Learn more in the wiki or other posts around here: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/Eisy:User_Guide#eisy-ui Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago When I updated my Polisy, it did say that a reboot was now required, which I did from the Admin Console Configuration screen. I imagine that the eisy will be similar. Quote
