February 16Feb 16 Get started here:Universal DevicesMigration to eisy Just Got Easier!automation, eISY, energy efficiency, iot, matter, smartgrid, tesla, z-wave, zigbee
February 16Feb 16 I made the switch a few months ago, followed the documented process and it was pretty painless.
Yesterday at 09:40 PM1 day I migrated yesterday. It wasn't painless for me.I found the instructions a bit confusing. Seems to me that there should be exact instructions for every use case (mine was ISY994+Polisy+Keeping Serial Modem to EISY r2) instead of commingling instructions (e.g. "if you have zWave, then do this first...). I'm kicking myself for not writing down everything I did (in order) so I could post it and help others.I had trouble with the portal (it kept saying my ISY wasn't approved) until a message came up in the Admin Console that I needed to go to a website. When I clicked on the Configuration-Portal tab, there was nothing. When I clicked on it again, the message appeared. Once I logged into that, my ISY was magically approved. I could login to PG3 and then I couldn't. I changed passwords to mirror the EISY password and still no luck - even after I changed the password via Forgot Password. I'm sorry to say I don't know what I did to fix it, but after poking around here and there, it finally let me in. Maybe there was a time lag for the new PW to take.My backup (and a previous backup) for PG3 half worked - my plugins appeared in their slots, but everything was unmanaged. My patience was wearing thin; so, I ended up just buying/reinstalling all of my Plugins again. My iAqualink Plugin would not connect nor the programs associated with it didn't work. I deleted/reinstalled and Disabled-Saved-Enabled-Saved each associated program and now I believe they are working. Each Network Resource needed to be Saved.UD Mobile was an involved process, but the instructions were clear - just a lot of steps that seem counterintuitive (e.g., delete your NEW controller and disregard any popup messages). But, it works! It was a lot for me due to lack of ability and lack of patience, but I'm happy with the situation now. The ISY and Polisy sure were trusty over the years. I'm not someone who likes to mess with stuff when it's working perfectly, but I'm glad I'm on the other side now.Ross
Yesterday at 10:28 PM1 day Yes, upgrades and migrations are UDI's weak spot. Hard to follow instructions and iffy results. The forum is a good place to discuss particular issues you run across. Patience pays off! It almost always ends up being successful, but often with detours.
Yesterday at 11:09 PM1 day Author I got it migraded , but notihing is communicating . Edited 23 hours ago23 hr by Dand spelling
22 hours ago22 hr 1 hour ago, Dand said:I got it migraded , but notihing is communicating .In iox, go to Tools, diagnostics PLM info. Does it say connected? If no, try restarting eisy, then check that again
22 hours ago22 hr Solution Try it againShut eisy downPull PLM out of the wall, count 10 seconds, plug back inRestart eisy
21 hours ago21 hr Author I put the isy994 back it. the it connect. Now I switched back to the eisy and it connected now. Thank you
10 hours ago10 hr Author well seem all is well other then non of the 8 button keys swtchs, not working or talking
9 hours ago9 hr In iox, pick one of the keypads, right click and pick "Restore Device". Give it some time as keypads can have a lot of scene programming. Maybe pick one that is the least complex in terms of scenes.Test that on again and see if it fixed it.
3 hours ago3 hr Author Pual I have'nt got it to work so I moved on to a light module . For some resason it does work either. When i staart up the console it keep going into linking for what ever reason. I feel so dumb. And yet I programed plcs
3 hours ago3 hr Ok. I wouldn't feel dumb, the migration is a significant upgrade and a lot has changed. The next step would going into IOX, going to Tools/Diagnostics/Event Viewer. At the bottom of event viewer is a box for setting the level, set it to 3. Then go through the moves of what you are trying to do, event viewer will capture the Insteon protocol at a detailed level. Post the results back here. I'm not the best at decyphering those but there are members here who are and will likely review it and come to a conclusion.
2 hours ago2 hr Author do you know how to do a factory reset. Im starting to think i made a mistake buy this upgrade. I cant even add a lamp module with out errors
1 hour ago1 hr I think it's time to open a ticket. A lot of these migrations go well but sometimes they can go sideways. UDI tends to be very responsive.
