ISY Scene duplication

Featured Replies

How many scene members? Here's how I've done it for Insteon only scenes:

You can create a scene #2 and click/drag it in iox near scene #1 on the list. Hold control and click on each scene member in scene #1.. (I think you can click the first scene member, the press shift and click the last but it's been a while).

After the scenes are all selected click on any one of the highlighted scene members and drag them as a selected group on top of scene #2... it should copy/populate.. might take a few minutes based on how many members as the scenes are programmed into devices.

You'll want to click through the new copy and make sure controller / responder roles copies correctly

I’ve got some scenes with about 50 Insteon devices. Having to use the Java interface to do this is frustrating, as it’s embarrassingly buggy. (The Java interface itself, not the Admin console)

I remember there being a way to duplicate an ISY scene, but according to this post

https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/44659-scene-copy/#findComment-390599

it was removed in one of the updates. Deprecation usually involved providing a way to preserve the functionality. How would you suggest to copying an existing ISY scene?

It usually does but in their attempt to unify disparate technologies, it had to be done. Had they kept the system an insteon only solution, I'm sure it never would've changed.

50 is alot to duplicate like that anyway as already mentioned. When I used the isy, I would add all of my responders to the scene first and configure them. I would add the controllers last. Doing it this way would greatly speed up the process since the devices would auto link at their respective settings
