May 14May 14 Has anyone else used this device (Zooz ZSE50)? It has a built in battery and can detect power outages and recovery. (Obviously, your eisy needs to be on a battery backup in order to report a power outage.) There are two power alarm states that you can use to trigger programs - "AC Mains Disconnected", or "AC Mains reconnected" - however, only the "AC Mains Disconnected" status seems to work. Has anyone else seen the reconnect status work? Edited May 14May 14 by JTsao
May 14May 14 I use the Zooz ZAC38 which also has a built-in battery. The EISY and the EISY-UI doesn't not show "AC Mains Reconnected", but the work around is if your program doesn't show the AC Mains Disconnnected then assume you have a power restored.
May 15May 15 Author OK thanks - that's how I've coded it for now - maybe there's an issue with eisy if my eisy shows "AC mains reconnected" as a valid status item for triggering programs but never can detect it
May 15May 15 If you have the eisy on battery backup (UPS) anyway, you may want to check into NUT. NUT monitors the UPS and you can get the state of the utility power and UPS battery, e.g., "UPS on battery", "UPS low battery", "Utility power restored". Then use REST to set a state variable and trigger programs. No extra device needed. Works great.
