blartyo Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Hi, It would be helpful to be able to add all the devices from a Scene into another scene. Implementation:1) Drag a scene onto another scene 2) Right-click on a scene and choose "Add Devices from another Scene..."3) Right-click on a scene and choose "Add these Devices to another Scene..." One example that comes to mind is for 3-way, 4-way, etc. lighting groups. Since these sets of lights are already grouped together, it is much easier to simply drag a scene onto another scene and voila, all the devices are added. Not sure if this has already been requested -- it was difficult to search for this since 'scene' is such a frequently used term. Thanks.
Sub-Routine Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I agree that could make things easier. Or more confusing This could go so wrong... What I do now is open the n-way scene and select all the devices and then Drag & Drop or Add To Scene. Rand
Michel Kohanim Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 blartyo, Thanks so very much for the feedback. I must agree with Rand simply because of all potential issues which may arise due to the relationships unless the Add dialog shows up again and thus it would be semi-automatic. Did you envision that this should be 100% automatic and with no user intervention? With kind regards, Michel Hi, It would be helpful to be able to add all the devices from a Scene into another scene. blartyo Posted January 13, 2008 Author Posted January 13, 2008 Yes, I had envisioned it as 100% automatic -- so after a user selects the origination scene to add to the destination scene, all devices in the origination scene are added to the destination scene. HOWEVER, it is a pretty minor feature that only would provide a small amount of saved clicks. If it causes any confusion it wouldn't be worth it. Plus, Rand's approach to adding scenes is really quite straightforward. As you can see I'm always looking to save a few clicks for commonly-executed tasks. Regards.
