apostolakisl Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-10-PHASE-COUP ... 2547d939dd The price and ease of installation makes these very attractive. If they don't work for Insteon, then there is no use. They look like they are just very high impedence resistors.
Brian H Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 It is a .1uf capacitor. It will pass Insteon 131.65KHz signals as well as the X10 120KHZ signals. Not 100% sure the capacitor is rated for across AC power Line use. I have seen reports in X10 forums on some caps failing. When I was using one. I got one that was made for across AC Power Line use with the X2 275 volt AC rating. It is now removed. I don't think it is code legal to put anything like that inside the breaker box. Even if on a set of breakers. Some roughly tuned then with an 18uh coil in series with the capacitor and that is what the Smarthome X10 dryer coupler had in it. A .1uf cap with a 18uh coil. I retuned mine by changing the coil to a 15uh.
