syilk1 Posted July 4, 2012 Share Posted July 4, 2012 My Insteon system has been flawless for 2 years and all of a sudden I cant connect to my system, I have rebooted computer, ISY, Modem , Router and nada. Cant access it?? No error lights, but my 192.168.1.108 which was my IP for ISY is no longer there, The secure ISP also shows nada. Any ideas?? syilk1 Posted July 21, 2012 Author Share Posted July 21, 2012 Lee and Michael thanks for reply, So I used link Lee stated and found my ISY at 192.168.1.140, I have no idea why it changed from 108 to 140, I then tried to change it back to 108 and poof it is gone and Lee link can no longer find it, But funny thing is it has to be running as all my programs still come on and lights go off at certain time etc. I think my router had a fight with it or something, So my question is if I do a hard reset, will it erase all my programs or what would be my next step. From there you should set your router to reserve a static IP address assigned to the MAC address of the ISY controller. Doing so will ensure several things to come into play. It will first allow the ISY / Router to obtain any and all networking information from the ISP modem. Second, it will lock the static IP address to only that unique device with the specified MAC address. There will be no way other than *manually* for a IP conflict on your network. Lastly, you have the benefit of a static IP address which will never change while allowing the router to obtain any required network interface data to be obtained. Teken . . .
