kstock Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Can the sensor and/or relay side of an I/O Linc be controlled using an ISY program? Can I send an 'On' or 'Fast On' command to the i/o linc sensor through the program to simulate the sensor being activated as if through a wired sensor input? In a similar light, can I send on 'On', 'Off', etc. command through a program to the i/o linc relay address in ISY to activate any low voltage device I have wired to the output side of the i/o linc?
Xathros Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 kstock- Relay, Yes - It is a responder type device. Sensor, No - It is a controller only device. It cannot be turned on/off via a command. It Sends On/Off commands to responders/ISY PLM. -Xathros
kstock Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 Thanks for the info. I have need to use the insteon wireless water sensors to control the Floodstop automated water valve closing products. Output from the I/o linc does in fact activate the Floodstop controller and close the valves. Programming the control of the I/O Linc through the ISY was simple. Thus a simple Insteon wireless water sensing solution for the the Floodstop product.
luckyp62 Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 kstock - i just installed a number of the wireless leak sensors and will be installing a few floodstop devices. How did you activate the floodstop with the iolinc? Did you connect the N/O relay to the sensor input of the floodstop? to the valve close button leads?.
kstock Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 luckyp62--I just scanned down and saw your post/question today. Did you get your Floodstop devices communicating with Insteon? If not and if still interested, I can go through how I have my system set up and wired.
Busflier Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I'm looking into buying the whole-house floodstop. It says in the Smarthome page that it is Insteon compatible, but can I add it to ISY for programs and notifications? Thanks!
LeeG Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 The Flood Stop itself is not Insteon. The Flood Stop has NC contacts that can control an I/O Linc Sensor for example. The I/O Linc can be added to the ISY with the Sensor state triggering a Program or Scene just as a garage door would.
Busflier Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Thanks LeeG, now I think I understand!. So, if a remote sensor detects a leak, it communicates with the Floodstop main controller. The main controller closes the water valve, and also triggers the I/O Linc sensor, which is seen by ISY. I think I may be getting this system to monitor my flood danger areas. I have the ELK M1 also, but the flood detector for the ELK is not wireless as far as I know. Thanks!
