Hmm my 5050 strips are bright. Maybe your under powering them or have a bad power supply? My strips (the same I recommended) are so bright I have to turn them way down and sometimes even wish I could dim them more.

It really depends on the size of the room and amount of lights to how bad you see it. I have always seen this happen on my installs and my own home regardless of bulb.
-
One plus about Lutron RadioRa is you don’t get the “popcorn” effect for scenes that Insteon and ZWave have. If you have a large room and have a scene with lamps, pendents, and recessed cans all the lights turn on and off at the same time. Insteon has lag and you can see they are not in sync.

Could get the 4in1 5050 LEDs that have RGBWW or RGBCW from ebay (Supernight) then mix the colors/white to get the “perfect” white you desire.

Well how are you using Homeseer now with Airplay? Could you use the ISY with maybe Amazon Alexa feedback?

You can use a alarm sensor too with Elk and module but thats only if you have Elk alarm and only want status. That said if you want to trigger scenes or programs on status thats a way to go. No control of the door but don’t most cars have HomeLink buttons in the rear view mirror head visor?

A simple search for Polyglot, MyQ, v5 fw, etc on the forum and UDI wiki is all you need to do.
-
You have to use the MyQ Nodeserver with Polyglot and v5 fw. Otherwise theres no other options at this time.

You using gmail? If so you have to go in and allow for less secure apps. -
Could always tell the new owners its an “advanced” or “installer only” system and they sign off on all responsibility and acknowledge this. Then you could tell then if they wish to keep it they can hire you at $100+ an hour (in half hour increments) to help and maintain it. Only if that’s convenient for you though. Then you could remote login and make changes by tossing a cheap headless PC stick in there. [emoji6]Otherwise they sign off on everything. Not everyone is dumb and some people can learn. I live in Seattle and theres plenty of tech savvy people in this area. Some don’t want to be bothers but other will take the time to learn. At the end of the day I just would make sure everything is 100% clear and in writing.

AFAICT theres a few ENS models. Hope the IOLinc setup works for you.

Well cant you could turn down the sensitivity? Also some cameras have a box you can draw a specific area for motion to be noticed at. Unfortunately cant help you more as you didn’t share more about the cameras or NVR. If its a true IP system change the camera out for a Hikvision or similar with better motion detection and/or features. Last ditch effort would be does the NVR have alarm connections? Plug an IOLinc by it and when the switch is triggered, trigger the IOLinc that triggers the NVR alarm and snap the pic. There could be a delay and miss the snap though.
-
Most cameras and NVRs allow to email snapshots on motion. No need to get crazy with ISY/Insteon to complicate things. I know for a fact my Hikvision NVR and cameras (in standalone) both have this as a standard feature. If you share the NVR model number and maybe a camera we might be able to find the user manual online.

Can you answer a question? If I login to the ISY portal, then go to IFTTT/Webhooks, then enter a name and device, then save, once saved clicking on the blue arrow box it gives you a URL. If I use this URL directly in a browser shouldn't it directly trigger the action on my ISY?

Help with program at sunset to sunrise W/ Open Close
Scottmichaelj replied to sdynak's topic in ISY994
FWIW you can make a folder in the programs area and have it run everything inside during a specific time - sunset to sunrise. So the folder can have outside patio lights turn on off etc too. Edit: Or as Larry would say in Canadian “it helps keep things organised” [emoji23] -
Seems these displays are popping up everywhere. https://www.slashgear.com/archos-hello-5-7-10-bring-full-android-to-smart-displays-30543858/

This would compliment the Elk module nicely.

@TheSwartz Thank you for posting this awesome and complete how to guide. I am using a QNAP NAS with a Debian VM (CLI only) and by following your directions (with some modifications for Debain) was able to get Homebridge installed. For some reason QNAP VM won't let me copy and paste which is a major pain. I need play with SSH and see if that works. I can now control my lights while I am home via Siri, which is so nice since I have an Apple Watch and wear it a majority of the time. If anyone else is using Debian the commands I used were: curl -sL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_10.x | sudo -E bash - sudo apt-get install -y nodejs sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install libavahi-compat-libdnssd-dev sudo nom install -g --unsafe-perm homebridge then go to the step above to create the config.json file and then follow from there on.

How to Prevent Elk Arming due to Unlocked Door
Scottmichaelj replied to jeffreycowart's topic in ISY994
I guess it depends on the way you interpret the post/request and how you want to do it. I do agree with you and would not recommend using Insteon or ZWave as a security sensor or device. That said we could all forget to lock the door(s) (manually) but still arm the security system, so I feel this is more of a “backup” just in case one forgets to rather than a mission critical thing. Commercial use - strike to ELK relay to the M1 board, it’s not a zone. The door sensor is the zone. -
How to Prevent Elk Arming due to Unlocked Door
Scottmichaelj replied to jeffreycowart's topic in ISY994
If he has the ELK module and ISY ZWave, I was thinking he could have a program that said IF the door is unlocked and ELK is armed, then disarm. Essentially never being armed. Also a push notification to a cell phone or other verbal feedback from the ELK Echo speaker that the door is unlocked or something, X zone, front door needs to be locked. Whatever works for the user based on the available speech commands. I don’t have the list memorized[emoji22] BUT you are also correct without those two items you would need a electric door strike instead and make an Elk rule to always lock the door via arming modes desired using the built in relay on the M1 board. Which can have drawbacks too, ie the deadbolt being in unlocked position will never lock. Edit: Also how about reversing my thought to when the alarm is armed then run a program to autolock the ZWave door? That may also accomplish the desired result? Get CRAZY and do a second program to query status after X minutes of arming just to double verify or use variables. -

Do you have the ELK ISY Module? If so you could make it a program to not arm if the ZWave door lock is unlocked. You might want a push notification too to remind you if your driving away. [emoji16] -
Just tested MobiLinc here and works for me. Try emailing@insteonnut / MobiLinc or posting in the third party section on the forum for help troubleshooting as you’ll have more luck.

Well that was quick anyhow. Heads-up: 2FA provider Duo Security to be acquired by Cisco (ugh) - Ars Technicahttps://apple.news/Ax2IdQ-koTp6yaDV87rcq_Q Seems Cisco thinks it’s worth while. I get the licensing fee aspect though.
