  1. After the ISY sets the local rate/level the SwitchLinc must be reset. Pull the set button at the bottom of the switch for a few seconds. Rand
  2. AFAIK, the newer KeypadLincs, and perhaps new SwitchLincs, do not need to be reset. You can use the tap method if you set the level using the ISY, but ramp rates will be limited to no more than 9 seconds (1% brightness). The full user guides have a rate/brightness chart. Rand
  3. James, the Insteon lights ramp towards a new level, at a preset rate if it is a group command, or the local rate, or the last used rate, without going to on. Switching to full on is/was an X10 limitation. Notice that I highlighted last used rate, because unless you use a scene to set the ramp rate the last used rate is unknown and unpredictable. Rand
  4. Some suggestions by members of the Smarthome forum that actually had an impact!!! Rand
  5. That is the description under the More Info tab on the Motion Sensor page. This was changed after the original product announcement. Rand
  6. The plan is group 1 for motion, group 2 for dark, group 3 for low battery. Rand
  7. It depends on the power supply. I have some that work well and others that don't work at all. A true transformer instead of an electronic power supply will work perfectly. All you can do is try Rand
  8. You should call or email direct to UDI. Rand
  9. Yes, SWL, your math is wrong There are 86,400 seconds in a day. What deepdish wants is every 30 minutes, which is 48 ons and 48 offs in 24 hours. To reach a million changes would take over 10,000 days, ~28 1/2 years. Rand Oops, Darrell beat me to it
  10. You can reset many devices at once by cycling the breaker Rand
  11. Only a bit confusing, eh?
  12. Most Insteon switches require a reset (power cycle) to change the local settings. Rand
  13. There seems to be some confusion here. Non-toggle means the button always send the same command, either Off or On. If the buttons are always illuminated they will always send an On command. I have used the ISY to set non-toggle mode on two different KPLs, but, with Michel's statement, I don't know if it works in all KPLs. Whatever state the buttons are in (On or Off) when set to non-toggle is the state they stay in. When the buttons are non-toggle On they will always turn a scene on, and vice-verse. Because of the way the KPLs work the buttons can be toggled by using other devices. Then they will toggle when pressed, effectively becoming non-toggle again. Rand
  14. Something looks wrong. I don't have any waits in the few programs I have like that. Hopefully the UDI team can help you. Rand
  15. That is a bug in the KPL. You can work around it by running a program in the ISY to turn off the load. Use a Wait to delay the Off until your fade is complete. Rand
  16. From the Last Run Time I see it appears that my sunset triggered program ran about 10 minutes late yesterday. Next Scheduled Run is correct for today. I installed 2.6.7 yesterday morning and did not change anything except the HTML Role. Thank you for that! MikeB, my ISY definitely rebooted, queried all devices and ran the program catch-up. Rand
  17. I installed FF 3.0.1 a few days ago. It shows Java Plug-in 1.6.0_07 for Netscape Navigator. I am not having any problems with the ISY interface. Rand
  18. If you have access to the administration console select Help/About. You will see the uuid. Rand

Good to read Dodger! You can use a KPL button. Just drag it into your Living room setup for the Living room. You have to create a scene for each button on the KPL if you don't already have one for the various rooms. Even if you only want to control one device you must create a scene to link the device and the controller. You can add as many controllers as you like for each scene. Each controller can affect the responders uniquely. You can turn some devices on and others off by using a different button if you wish. There is a KPL relay available but if you are using a lamp (compact fluorescent?) a dimmer can be used. Be sure to use the quickest ramp rate and 100% on level. Rand

Yes, you should have all that. Now you can control Living room setup with the computer, right? All devices react at once? Good. Now drag the RemoteLinc button for the Living Room to that Scene. Rand

I don't think you have created a Scene. Click on the gadget that is round with two green and one yellow light. Or use the menu Link Management/New Scene. This will make a new entry in My Lighting with the round symbol next to the name. Then drag and drop as I typed in the previous post. Let me know what happens, Rand

It sounds like you haven't put all the devices into the scene. This is how it should look with a Scene called Living Room: Network My lighting Living room light Living room TV Living room fan Living room Remote Linc 1 Living room light Living room TV Living room fan Drag and drop the devices into the scene. The RemoteLinc should be colored red to designate it as the controller. When you select Living Room the right side panes should display all the responders that belong to the scene. Rand
  23. Since they are all non-toggle On the buttons cannot be mutually exclusive. I tried that too I use the non-toggle On, all buttons are always illuminated. The ISY will not show an On status for all the buttons until they are each pressed once. There is no way to query the KPL buttons, the Query only reports the current on level, local level and rate. Maybe the MutEx is not allowing any of the other buttons to turn on. Rand
  24. While I agree a button may have some use it is possible, as Michel suggested, to modify the My Programs folder to prevent all programs from running. Simply select a Schedule condition and do not select any days for the schedule to execute on. On Never: Folder Conditions for 'My Programs' Add conditions to limit when programs in this folder are allowed to run. If On Never Time is 7:05:00PM on 2008/08/28 Then Allow the programs in this folder to run. Rand
