The buttons on a RemoteLinc do not have a status. Like the ControLinc they simply send commands and do not themselves turn On or Off. Rand

Good one, Jason. I forgot about resetting devices. It's been a while since I added anything new. Always do a factory reset with a new device. Always use Scenes and not Devices in your programs. It is the only way to guarantee the Ramp Rate you desire. Welcome to the forum, Rand

I usually name my devices with reference to the room. Living Room East Wall Living Room South Wall Living Room Track Lights etc. Scenes I name according to groups and moods. Outside Lights Dawn Outside Lights Daytime Outside Lights Evening Outside Lights Midnight Living Room Talk Living Room Play Living Room Sleep etc. Devices and Scenes can be renamed at any time so changes are easy. Program Folders; I use them mainly to organize my Programs. I have My Schedules Basement Triggers Outside Light Triggers etc. Because Program Folders can contain conditions within my Outside Light Triggers I have folders containing programs that are only true at specific times, Dawn, Daytime, Dusk, and Midnight each call different scenes for the same triggers. Programs and Folders can be freely rearranged so again, you won't have to worry about changing things. I usually backup the ISY after I make any changes and I use the date in my backup file names. Have fun! Rand

You will have to remove the switch from the scene and re-add it. When you do this you will have to set the level and rate again. The level and rate can be set for each scene controller. See the Wiki page concerning Scenes. Note that when a device is notated with Local Level you may have to reset the switch for the new level/rate to become effective. Rand

Walter, because you are keying on the Status of the device your program will loop. You could use Control to begin your program when the switch is pressed. If Control 'Powder Room Light' is switched On Then - - - Tim is right that you probably should use a scene to fade the light. Rand

There will never be one device that fits everyone's needs. Rand

I'm not sure what else to tell you about your error then. Automatic upgrade, AFAIK, is always on but Beta versions are not distributed this way. When 2.7 is available a notice will pop up when you open the administration console. Rand

I think the McAfee firewall had this problem. Rand

Very Good!

Thanks for keeping up on the Wiki Marc. Rand

'Switched On' means someone physically pressed a switch. Rand

The Ramp Rate has no effect on when the command is sent. As soon as the command is broadcast the responding device is supposed to begin ramping the load at the programmed ramp rate to the programmed on level. It is odd that your devices are not seeing the group command but they see the cleanup messages. All I can suggest is moving your AccessPoints. Plug one into the PLM and use the setup procedure to locate the other. Rand

It sounds like the SwitchLinc is not seeing the group command but it is seeing the cleanup command. That is unusual. Do you have AccessPoints or SignalLincs installed? Rand

Great to know "If iPhone goes to sleep, ISY does not get an ack to its heartbeat and thus expires the subscription anyway." but I'd still like to be a good upstanding citizen (umm program) and unsubscribe if I know for sure that the device is going into power saver mode... not to mention I have a thread that I'm sure I'd need to terminate as well so why not do the right/polite thing.... Upon wake-up I'll need to perform a 'fresh/full subscribe' since I won't have any idea what changes may have taken place to the devices since the device went to sleep... I gotta tell you I'm having so much fun with this... my wife is about to throw ME the ISY and my iPod out of the house any day now... Must learn to control myself must learn to control... LOL Dave Dave, I don't know anything about programming an iPhone but may I suggest... I would incorporate a routine that tests for an active subscription on a regular basis and acts accordingly. This would cover situations besides sleep mode. Error checking always seems to be the most difficult part of programming, doesn't it? Rand

Whoops.

Thank you very much! Rand

Hello Chris, I can see the need for me to enable/disable programs. Michel has indicated that there will soon be two levels of login, one for the HTML interface and another for admin. I am afraid one of the other family members would disable my programs and, of course, not bother to enable them again. I don't have any sprinklers but the timers I use on lights can be easily overridden by turning on another scene. If the enable/disable features required the admin password I would sleep easier Thank you, Rand
-
OK. Scratch my idea. Michel has said soon the ISY will have two levels of security and I don't want the kids to be able to disable my programs. Rand
-
First, thank you for all the work you have been doing on this May I suggest that the Enable/Disable and Enable/Disable Run at Startup buttons deleted from the HTML page. I think those choices should be available only in the Administration Console. How many times have you been asked to delete a feature? One thing missing from the HTML page is the full program name following the name of the drawer. Long names are truncated to 20 characters in the grid view and on the program page title; it would be nice to see the full name on the program page. Thank you, Rand

Maybe the extra dots have something to do with that. I use Insteon_x_x_x.zip with no problem. Rand
-
My apologies. That was d_l, Dave. I knew I saw it once. Rand
-
Thank you! No problem with DST here in Central time. Stowaway, didn't you have that with 1.6.5? Rand

Good news on the one RL. There is a way to factory reset the RL. Hold the Bright button for 10 seconds while/after inserting the last battery. Rand

I have never counted the flashes, but rapid flashing is a communication error. Moving an Access Point will certainly be worth a try. You should use the AP linking procedure whenever you move one. I hope that helps. Rand
