  1. Hi, I started playing around recently a bit with the PBX in a Flash version of Asterisk. The non-GUI version of Asterisk is above my pay-grade. Is there any way to implement the above mentioned way of sending REST commands in the PBX in a Flash system? Thanks in advance.
  2. Is this switch directly controlling the load? If so then it's not possible. Having a program shut it off immediately after turning on would be the only way. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
  3. The last time I changed those settings, the Save button was grayed out and could not be clicked on until I moved the cursor to the next field. That's how I became aware of that. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk

WES, Good to hear from you. Thanks for the clarifications.

Wow that's bad news. Where did you see this info? Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
  6. Wow this is something new and I didn't know about it. I just updated Tasker on my phone & this option is now available there. So I take back what I said before. You do NOT need a certificate from a certificate authority. You can use a self signed certificate. Just check off the "Trust any Certificate" box in Tasker.
  7. Unfortunately not. You will need a certificate from a certificate authority. I got one for free from cacert.org. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk EDIT: The above statement is no longer correct. With the latest version of Tasker you do not need a certificate from a certificate authority anymore. See the next 2 posts.
  8. I just noticed now that you are using the HTTP POST action. You need to use HTTP GET.
  9. Thanks for the reply. I tried this and it is still not working: Server:Port http://username:password@192.168.xx.xx Path /rest/nodes/40070/cmd/DON/ Am I still missing something? BTW, this rest command works on a browser. This works from a browser on your phone or only on your computer? Is this phone connected to your local network via WiFi? Otherwise 192.168.xx.xx would not be the correct IP address. Also is "40070" just to disguise your actual device address? It doesn't seem like a correct address normally used.
  10. The "/rest/nodes/..." part has to go in the Path field. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
  11. There isn't, that's why I asked. Thanks.
  12. I understand. Which size did you get, standard or Micro? How did you order, you have to order by phone? Thanks
  13. If my understanding is correct those seem to be actual sensors not just a case. Did you take out the sensor from the enclosure & just use the case? Thanks.
  14. Would you mind to post a link or mention the name and/or model number of the item you bought? I couldn't find it on their website. Thanks. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
  15. Pardon my ignorance: I don't have a Nest. Where is the weather info coming from? Can I get this info into the ISY without having a Nest?
  16. Thanks for the detailed information. Very much appreciated. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
  17. Oh wow! Seems there are exciting times ahead for UDI & the UDI user base. Good luck! Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
  18. For what it is worth, I just retrofit wired 25 windows and doors in a 15 year old house in 2 days with another guy using 3' and 6' x 1/4" electrician drill bits and a "Glowfish Tool Box Kit" expandable fiberglass pulling kit. Cost: tools $50; 1500' 22 AWG 4 conductor wire (only 2 conductor needed for contacts, but extras never hurt) $125; magnetic 3/8" diameter wired window contacts $2 each. On 1st floor windows drilled 1/4" hole bottom of window (where lower sash closes onto the sill) hole goes down to basement. On 2nd floor I did the reverse drilling from the top of the window up into the attic (I will then conceal the wire in weight well / sash spring groove. Stick Glowfish rod into hole, attach wire from basement, pull into window, connect contact. Wireless contacts are $30-$75 each, and not as much fun to do I am not a contractor, and am only slightly "handy" You might reconsider. PS: Now I have to figure out how to install the ELK M1 I would call myself even less than "slightly handy"... But maybe there is hope... Thanks for your info.
  19. Unfortunately my home is not fully pre-wired for an alarm system. So I am thinking that 2 way wireless communication will be almost as good as a wired connection. That's if my assumption is correct, that 2 way communication means that the sensors & the control panel are in constant communication, and that the M1 would immediately know if a sensor stopped working.
  20. I started looking into the Elk M1. If I go forward with it I will mostly need to use wireless sensors. While doing my research I read that elk's own wireless receivers have 2 way communication while GE & Honeywell are only 1 way. What are your thoughts about that? Also, can you have more than one wireless receiver connected to the M1? Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
  21. Or consider using instead an IR extender. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk

I get you. But for anything along the lines of CastleOS/Kinect, you would need to have one in every room in the house. That would cost a small fortune. Personally I am looking forward to when Smartwatches will be mature enough to be able to accept voice commands & work in conjunction with Tasker on an Android phone. Or maybe install Tasker directly on the watch on those watches running full Android. That would be great. I think the day this will be possible is not that far away. Perhaps its already possible now with one of the smartwatches released lately. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk

You can use your phone for that. If you have Android you can use MobiLinc with Tasker, or Tasker alone using REST commands. If you have an Iphone you can use the newly released version of Mobilinc for iOS with the voice plugin. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
