Yeah, lots of investment on line now regarding the 1 wire. Long term I won't need to worry about batteries or limiting the amount of calls / updates to the system impacting any type of battery life. The biggest problem I had with these little box's is that they would not fair too well in -45'C to +53'C temperature conditions they needed to be. Yes, I noted the price increase was double! This is why I even considered this product because cost per sensor was simply outstanding. But, if the reported values are inaccurate there is no sense in even having them. Considering if they are being used in mission critical areas like fridge, freezers, HVAC, etc. This is why even though it pained me to do this. I ran almost two miles of Ethernet CAT6 cable and hardwired everything into a massive (72) 1 Wire sensor network. The only thing I have pending is a humidity solution but I was just advised by the vendor (alpha support) has been released on a third party 1 Wire temp / humidity sensor. I plan on engaging the 3rd party vendor to confirm they are using the correct IC to make this all happen. If so, I will be in great shape and will be able to integrate this solution into my existing network and have all the readings viewed in one UI and also pushed to the ISY via State Variables with out all the 3rd party hosting like IFTTT.

The device should have a LED indicating protection is still present. If still lit it's working, if not lit it's dead. Having said this, this is why surge protection must be done in layers. There are technically five types but the Germaine ones that apply to most people are Type 1, 2, 3. Given the vast amounts of investment in ones home. All you need is the Insteon ID which you should write down somewhere close by. Having said this best practices for any new Insteon device is as follows. 1. Factory reset all devices to ensure they are in a default state. 2. Enroll them into the ISY before you make the final install. 3. Verify all wiring is tight and firm. 4. Cover up the Insteon ID with clear tape to ensure its protected from dirt and falling off.

For quite awhile now I have noticed that the 3 AM query runs but does not in fact do anything? Below are the stats from the summary page. I have also appended the actual program that has been in place for more than five years. What is strange is (IF) I run a manual query any device I had unplugged, powered down, etc do in fact come up with the famous pop up of *Can not communicate*. This is expected and normal and this is how I know if devices are on line etc. So, it begs to ask the question what is going on at 3:00 AM?? The process is running yet its not picking up all the disconnected devices? In the past if I had 10 devices unplugged and the following day when I logged into the UI I would see 10 pop up's affirming the same. Now, I see only four devices crying it can't be found or communicated with? Is this query feature broken? If it is it might explain why the iMeter Solo fails to update its energy values as programmed to. Insight

Michael, Do you happen to have their newest high quality temp / humidity sensor? I have been farting around trying to decide to go with one solution or another. The only thing that stops me from using most of these solutions I see is the lack of accuracy for humidity. I have seen this in the Science what ever, Aeotec Multi Sensor, Insteon TSTAT (wireless), etc. Another aspect is that I already have a very extensive 1 wire temperature network deployed in my home. Plus, I don't have to worry about long term battery changes or signal drop outs since they are all hardwired. Lastly, the initial cost for the four humidity sensor will cost me about $150.XX. If you're seeing this on LED lighting this is a known issue due to leaking current from the module. Your only option is to place a small load at the end and this will resolve the issue at hand.

Was there any reason you didn't use and deploy the synchro linc instead?

I can't comment on the actual question posed but do recall that this TSTAT must be plugged in if you want updates on a regular bases. Otherwise I believe it only updates when there is a change in temperature in a given period of time. There are a few threads about this issue and what solutions were provided. It kind of defeated the whole *remote* TSTAT and being wireless since it was tethered to a AC plug!

Yes, its a true balancing act with some of these upgrades. In the summer time its never an issue so maybe adjusting the telepost will help the door get past the threshold. That will be the first victory and maybe I can see if I can modify the door bracket that holds the current lock sets in place just a little. Its safe to say when I asked the builder to install four 2X6 on either side of the door, and king stud, and lower plate. There were some serious looks of WTF?? Drilling into the door hinges with 4" hardened screws, adding all the door hinge brackets, U frame kit for the locks, and the massive 4' tall strike plate was a really PITA for four doors. Lucky this is hobby and not a job!

That is something that used to be in place and did resolve the handle closing the door tighter to allow the dead bolt to engage properly. But since I retro fitted all exterior doors with a four feet long SS strike plate. There is no method to make fine adjustments. [emoji31][emoji34] It was either have real force protection or have convenance. I chose former because a lock isn't any good if the hinges, strike plate, and timber are not sound and reinforced against a brute force kit down. I will have to play around with the telepost this week and see if the door closes properly. Right now if you simply let the door go it stops right before the frame of the door. So technically there are two problems the door doesn't swing closed by itself. Next the door can't be adjusted to allow a tight seal to allow the dead bolt throw bolt to engage. I prefer to not adjust the telepost in the basement to compensate for the sticking problem. But, I guess if this lock set is going to work properly this is something I will have to resolve. It never fails every time I have to do something its -26'C and below!

Hello Xathros, That's the kind of feed back I was hoping to see from various members. I am really interested to see a year from now how these locks are performing. Given the fact more diagnostics's and error logging in the ISY is being added every quarter. These locks will be on the top of the list when I believe the Z-Wave platform is a little more solid. The only problem I have right now is that both front doors do not close properly without a little nudge. Every winter is the same thing when the mercury drops to -45'C and below. Closing the door by hand is never a problem, but given the tight tolerances of the throw bolt I am afraid it would just fail to lock or jam. I will more than likely consider these for a few interior doors where not having to use a key would be great. The only problem is that two of the rooms use mag locks and a card swipe mechanism so doing a retro might not be in my future.

I believe this high lights the beauty of the leak sensor program from the other member. Without it, this sort of thing would be very hard to track long term. I had the same thing happen to me last year when I deployed four of them. The RF simply could not get past from under the sink. I moved a spare AP unit and everything has been perfect ever since.
