ISY-994i and Insteon Hub
Hello Barrygordon, I will engage you directly about this matter at the e-mail alias you have indicated above.

ISY994i can't find OutletLinc but Insteon Hub does
Technically speaking the older On/Off Outletlinc is not. The dual Outletlinc is dual band and on the surface has better specifications. It was noted the RF is supposed to be stronger but given the fact if its installed in a metal JBOX that won't provide very much help considering the antenna is in the rear of the device. Looking forward to the day the antenna is moved to the front just underneath the plastic cover. Which BTW should be done on all hardwired devices that needs to placed in a metal JBOX.

Spare PLM - Necessity ?
UDI PLM is scheduled to be released in Q1 of 2015. UDI is testing their first five units which just arrived. Smartlabs has since upgraded the PLM to hardware v2 which upgraded the failing capacitors. The newest firmware has also removed the *ALL ON* flag from the system so this can not happen again. With anything mission critical having a back up is just plain common sense. You will need to balance out cost vs reward.

I believe speaking for myself solely. I would love to try and sample what you have for the iPhone / iPad if its consumer ready now for trials.

2852-222 Leak Sensors Missing Heartbeats (how to correct)
Yes . . . And after you confirm proper coupling via the 4 tap beacon test outlined by the full users manual.

ISY994i can't find OutletLinc but Insteon Hub does
One thing to note if (assuming) this is the new HUB II. It has a stated longer RF range then the PLM. Keep in mind also the ISY relies on the PLM for complete power line / RF COM's to communicate.

2852-222 Leak Sensors Missing Heartbeats (how to correct)
It would be best to upgrade the ISY so everyone is using the same point of reference. Please ensure you follow all the steps for the upgrade process and confirm that the firmware and UI match 4.2.18 when done. You will need to confirm the 4 tap beacon test outlined in the full users manual. This will at least confirm proper coupling and bridging. Keep in mind it doesn't matter what others tell you about dual band devices installed into (metal) JBOX's the RF is extremely limited. The only proven and sure method is using a plug in dual band device or a AP / Range Extender. Note, all the proper coupling in the world does not help you if your problem is a noise issue or signal sucker. As painful as it is to do its something you really do once and that's it. Why? Because this ensures a rock solid Insteon network and identifies those signal suckers / noise makers. Ultimately, this translates to a happy customer who can enjoy his HA system to the fullest. All other steps outlined above still need to be done and provided. This will allow the forum members to assist you with factual data and the same point of reference.

2852-222 Leak Sensors Missing Heartbeats (how to correct)
Based on your reply there looks like a few possible areas for you to confirm and validate. 1. How old is the PLM in the home? Please state all the hardware info on the back of the PLM. Using the ISY go to Tools -> Diagnostics -> PLM Info / Status. Please provide a screen capture of the information. 2. Coupling / Bridging: Please confirm proper coupling following the full users guide for the PLM to another dual band device. Report back success / failure. 3. Confirm that the PLM is not plugged into any surge, filtering, UPS system. Confirm other noise makers / signal suckers are not the root cause of this issue. The best and proven method is to unplug all the electrical devices in the home. Once proper coupling / bridging has been verified via the 4 tap beacon test. You will confirm COM's are good, if they are add one electrical device and see how the Insteon network behaves. Keep adding a device until you find a fault, at that time you will filter out that device to avoid future issues. 4. Please post up a Level 3 Error Log for those such as LeeG for review. As this will help narrow down the root cause or at the very least identify what COM's or the level of COM's are present. 5. Take just one sensor and delete it from the ISY. Hard reset this sensor, add it back to the ISY. Do not add it to any scenes or programs. Change the state of the sensor by pressing the button and ensure the Level 3 Error log is running. Upload the results here for review. You're doing this because it will identify how this one device operates with a known state. 6. If you're not on 4.2.18 firmware and your *About* in the system does not confirm the firmware and UI are not the same. Please ensure you clear the Java Cache, ensure you're using the supplied links from 4.2.18 to access the Admin UI as using a older version will cause random issues.

Thanks guys I really appreciate the real world use case and performance. Please confirm, this lock set does in fact report back the actual state of the lock? Whether it be locked / unlocked? It also shows the state if the lock set is manually locked / unlocked and is reflected in the ISY? As I have seen other brands simply report lock position only if activated remotely vs manually.

So for those that own these locks, happy? Would you buy them again opposed to purchasing another unit? If so why? [emoji45] Any downsides or features that are not present in this lock set? [emoji53] Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

Is this lock set not used very often? What type and brand of battery is being used in the device? [emoji47] Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

How and where is this property indicated? Is this in the ISY? How about a screen capture for the visually impaired!

Trigger Groups - Switch Linc Relay Timer v38
What does the trigger group option do when selected / deselected? I have several 2476ST which had the built in timer. Where you could tap on the paddle and add 15 minutes, to 1,2,3 hours, or indefinitely. I was going through some house cleaning in the ISY and noticed this option which I don't recall being there? Unable to get into Admin Console
You can update directly from 4.0.5, to 4.2.18 with out issue. Ensure you make a back up, once the firmware has been completed. Clear the Java Console by selecting all the check box's. Afterwards, you will need to use the supplied links provided in the 4.2.18 thread. Using a older version of the finder or other will cause unknown issues to appear either in the Admin UI or programs. Please confirm success by selecting the Help -> *About* both the firmware and UI should report back as 4.2.18.

Why are some entries red versus blue in the admin console?
Hello Rick, It means the ISY was not able to either query the device, write is pending, or its actually not present any longer in the ISY. In the screen capture below you can see I have the famous red ! The Office Fan APLinc 7 is physically not plugged in. You will see a few TSTATS two of them are showing the red !. This is because they are turned off until called to duty to advise me of the humidity and temp. You will also see this issue if the device in question is failing in some manner. I have a few Appliance Lincs that seem to operate fine via the Admin UI. But, when you query the device it returns a !. On the surface many times this is a COM issue. But, in my case its not, its the actual device is failing some how.

UDI PLM?
Speaking of which no one has indicated what the price is for the PLM. I am also wondering how long the warranty is for this unit. Since purchasing the PLM from Smarthome offers a 2 year warranty. I would expect it to be the same or even longer given the fact new capacitors have been introduced to avoid the early two year failures seen by many. Expectations is that the new units with hardware v2.X and the new firmware to negate the *ALL ON* issue will last well past the two year mark.

I think you're in good shape moving forward. Please do document the install and take lots of photos. I am sure others will find this information valuable when doing the same. Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

Electronic air duct
That would be the most effective solution while offering the best value for a zoned system. Question, is the current HVAC system as it is not able to keep the home comfortable? Or is this just a personal method to tailor the rooms environment on demand? Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

Electronic air duct
You would only use the I/O link if you planned to use the factory transformer. Obviously, the I/O link would then be plugged into a outlet from there. Which HVAC duct are you planning to use NO vs NC? Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

Electronic air duct
Well, I guess that is something the OP will need to share if he wants. This also assumes he is going to use a N.O vs a N.C HVAC duct. There may be some use cases like a infrequent room that is occupied that he wants to always be closed. Thus, when he feels the need he simply clicks the switch and opens the vent so he can enjoy the pool table, sun room, what ever, smoke a joint,
