  1. Yes, or if a linked scene is pressed so the user knows that device has been activated. I can do what everyone else has posted except this. Teken . . . Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions
  2. OK now try to do the same thing where the entire KPL is off / unlit. But program the KPL to light up the LEDS when any of the keys are activated. Does it work in this fashion? Teken . . . Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions
  3. Could I ask you both to use a time instead of sunset etc. Because this doesn't seem to work for me. Teken . . . Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions
  4. I have followed this thread with great interest. I have confirmed the 0/0 selection does in fact turn off the KPL. How does one make the KPL be off from 9:30 PM to 5:00 AM? I have tested with variation where the KPL is off, but allows the buttons to be lit when activated. Creating a program to mimic what I did with the LED settings does not seem to work in a program. Any help and insight in crafting said program would be greatly appreciated! Much thanks to LeeG in providing the Insteon code to UDI to deploy this feature. Teken . . . 5. Not far fetched at all. This has been used for years in the CIA / NSA recon devision for ages. If and when NEST comes out with a video camera, locks, energy management. You will be under the ALL SEEING EYE of Google. Teken . . .

  7. NEST is just another element for Google to add to their infrastructure. Google has been playing with remote AP connectors for more than three years now. They have deployed this balloon type devices in remote locations to allow communications. This whole Google glasses is yet another element along with the 3D street view. Google, is EVIL . . . 8. At work all of us were joking how Google is very close to being *SkyNET* from the movie Terminator. Google in the last several years has purchased robotics companies left and right. They have acquired Motorola, deployed their own high speed fiber network. Is the undisputed search engine for data capturing and review. SkyNet was a computer system that became aware at XX:XX time. It was because the computer systems along with its infrastructure were wired and programmed to control all aspects of communications and systems that it was able to over ride the military elements. Google has their hands in all facets of communications and information. Having the ability to know if you're home along with the status of your devices is just the small step for them. Teken . . .
  9. Not sure how I feel about the EVIL Google buying up NEST. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-o ... e16313217/ Teken . . .
  10. The network module is a software add on package that is activated when you select *Purchase Modules*. Please provide a screen capture of the *About* in the help tab for your ISY. This will help UDI to determine your firmware and modules that may already be installed. Teken . . .
  11. I added your request in the SH feature request thread. You should affirm the same so it can be tracked. Teken . . .
  12. All I know is you don't have to wait an entire year for a 20% sale! But of course the Canadian Costco does not carry Insteon! In the future I am going to have to ask a few members give me a hand to purchase some of these items and forward them to me in Canada. $25.00 a piece for the Leak Sensor is the cheapest you will find any where! 13. Shopping at Best Buys & Future Shop is always like shopping at the mall. Over inflated prices the majority of the time. I always find it funny that the actual vendor (SmartHome) sells their wares cheaper then Aartech, Best Buys, Future Shop etc. The dollar this year has been near parity forever so when they tell you its because of the exchange rate they are just full of crap. What is upsetting is that Costco sells Insteon for way cheaper and none of these places will price match them? Not even Smart Home! Teken . . .
  14. Teken, What a great, incredibly helpful post - thank you! I am happy to go to the Brultech sub forum and add my support. This seems like a great addition to the ISY and certainly one I hope to see advanced. The greatest challenges I have in getting it done are time and a growing list of home improvement projects. I'm done with purchasing older homes, after what seems like a lifetime of doing so. I'm sure there will be many additional questions as I manage to slowly progress my system, though. Thank you in advance for the help I'm sure you will provide, and which I will appreciate. Joe Joe, Hope the New Year gives you more time to enjoy some of these hobbies. Rest assured UDI / Brultech will be there to support any question you may have. I also wanted to clarify for you that a lot of bugs and features have been implemented since that thread was started. I did not remove the older postings as many users wanted to see and follow the history along with the development of the two products. A time line if you will. During the course of the new year I will be adding in some new elements that relate to the project and how they integrate into the whole *System*. Teken . . .
  15. I posed a similar question in the Leak Sensor thread. After reading Michel's reply I am still not clear if this program IS supposed to send off two e-mails of the health, condition, state of the Leak Sensors. I actually liked receiving two separate e-mail during the course of the day confirming the state of the leak sensor. If this is not how its supposed to operate oh well. Works for me this way! Teken . . .
  16. Using the parenthesis does this cause the program to send only one e-mail notification? I did not add the parenthesis in my program and I received a update at 9:00 AM, and 6:00 PM each day. Upon adding the parenthesis I only received a 9:00 AM notification? Any insight as to why that would be is appreciated. Teken . . .
  17. Frank, As far as I am aware the brackets are not required for this program to operate. On the right hand side is the option to add the brackets I believe. I am not in front if the Amin console so my memory may be wrong. Teken . . . Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions
  18. Hello Joe, Absolutely, since day one! There have been tremendous improvements in terms of stability and features since I deployed my GEM system more than a year ago. 1. Plan your install to ensure proper routing of CT's (Current Transformers) with in your service panel is appropriate. If you need to lengthen the CT cables you can use CAT5e Ethernet cable to do so. 2. Label every CT coming out of the service panel with what ever naming convention you believe makes sense. This will save you lots of time down the road and helps trouble shoot a circuit months down the line. 3. CT Orientation: Make sure all of the CT's are facing the right direction per the manual. The worst case you simply reverse the wires in the GEM to accomplish this task. Its better to have it done right the first go round then to see your readings showing (-) negatives which will drive you bonkers! 4. Update the COM and Engine firmware to the latest before you do anything. Doing so will ensure previous bugs are resolved and you enjoy all of the new features the new releases bring. 5. GEM Internal Setup Page: Before you do anything to the GEM take the time to screen capture all of the pages as you saw in my install thread. This will help you trouble shoot and revert back to what ever prior changes as memory is short 4-5 months later! This is one of the main drivers of why I published my install thread in the forums. To help me and those that follow see the incremental changes and their effects on the system etc. 6. Main Voltage: The GEM can be adjusted internally to compensate for the line voltage coming into your home from the POCO. Please ensure you use a quality DMM with True RMS to measure the line voltage. The purpose of fine tuning the PT settings is to have the most accuracy which is the ultimate goal! If your true line voltage is 125 VAC, but the GEM shows 119 VAC. Your readings will be inaccurate thus negating your ability to measure and capture vampire draws etc. 7. FAQ: I started a small initial FAQ to address the install and configuration of the GEM to ISY. It is on page 5 and provides all the relevant things to do to accomplish the set up. 8. Create an account in the Brultech forum so you can ask questions and also down load all the software and manuals. Both companies are small and each of them have that small town feel. Meaning, they are eager to help and willing to listen to their customers. I have been working with Ben / Paul for more than a year in the direct development of the GEM and Dash Box. Very much like Michel of UDI they have been responsive to bugs, improvements, and expanding the capability of their product(s). Everyone, moving forward will reap an entire year of my personal pain! Being on the bleeding edge comes with a cost and that is enduring bugs, waiting, and testing. At the end of the day it has evolved the product to be best in class and others pail in comparisons. At this point in time both UDI and Brultech are working on incorporating temperature, pulse, and current / amps into the ISY-994iZ. I would appreciate it very much if you make your presence known in the Brultech sub forum in this site. As with anything priorities are ranked in terms of how many people want this feature vs ROI to the vendor(s). Its safe to say I have spear headed the development of both products and brought both companies new paying customers, all based on the Install thread detailing my Energy Management journey. Both UDI and Brultech have been a pleasure to deal with and their endless development has been the difference of making my dreams a reality, from a pipe dream. There are many other products that appear on the surface to do the same HA / Energy Monitoring. But after ten years of reviewing some of them its like comparing a Chevette to Corvette! Both product offerings are Corvette class and others are simply running to catch up. Your direct feed back and support in the Brultech GEM to UDI will help me and those that follow in the continued development of this product. Please do let me know if you need any help or insight and its safe to say UDI and Brultech will be there too! Teken . . .
  19. Mike, Good to know! Yes, after I installed another set of AP's I was able to capture the other Leak Sensors heart beat signature. With out the aid of the OP's program there was no long term method to confirm the sensors health or state. I really hope the heart beat node will become a basic feature in all wireless devices they produce moving forward. I have submitted this requirement in the product request thread in the SH forum. 20. This is my personal experience with the Brultech Green Eye Monitor (GEM) and the ISY-994iZ IR Pro. I hope you enjoy a long read! http://www.brultech.com/community/viewt ... ?f=2&t=929 Teken . . .
  21. Michel, In case no one said Thank You. I, and the rest of the ISY community would like to extend our gratitude and sincere thanks for the endless hard work and development of the ISY. More than three years ago I coined the phrase that the ISY was an investment. That statement was true then, and is very much so now. Teken . . .
  22. I also received one like this. Received three with an address beginning with 25 and this one has an address beginning with 21 so maybe it is from an older run. ~Mike Mike, Doesn't it appear its stained? I too received units starting with 25 but didn't pay too much attention to that part. The bent yellow antenna is what got me a little Teken . . .
  23. I have an ISY 994i/ir Pro set up to send me a text if a leak is detected. I plan on having my router and ISY on an UPS (along with a computer and PoE port for my cameras), so sending the message shouldn't be a problem as long as the internet is up. I just need to find a way to get the signal from the leak sensors. I have read a small number of users have placed the PLM on the end of a FilterLinc. While the other end is attached to the UPS. This causes the PLM to send and receive via RF only. This may allow you to accomplish having the PLM backed up and powered. My personal experience is that the PLM's RF strength varies a great deal. I personally would not have my system configured this way because there is just too much risk. The whole Insteon dual band technology is still work in progress in my mind. If you're interested in another method to monitor your sump pump via Wi-fi outside of the Insteon environment I can provide you another option. Teken . . .
  24. What controller (program) are you using to monitor the leak sensor now? Teken . . .
