Zigbee General Question
Hello Exten, There's a Digi gateway that does what you wish. This said, even that requires you to setup a PAN (just like you connect to WiFi). I am not sure how that would help us! With kind regards, Michel

Thermostat log entries
Hi ski2020, Unfortunately (or fortunately) the this one is not related to the bug we fixed. If you look below ****** Fri 09/21/2012 12:06:03 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 11.B5.F0 19.75.3A 27 6C 48 (48) Fri 09/21/2012 12:06:03 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][11.B5.F0-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Fri 09/21/2012 12:06:03 PM : [ 11 B5 F0 1] CLISPC 72 ****** Your thermostat is returning 48 Hex = 72 Decimal = 36 degrees (72/2). At this point, I think it's the thermostat itself unless something else changed the set point. With kind regards, Michel

Zigbee General Question
Hi Exten, ISY acts as a coordinator for the specific PAN (personal area network) that it has been configured for. And, as such, it cannot act as a router for any other type of traffic. ISY currently supports only ECM1240, UDI-EM3, and RCS thermostats. GreenEye is planned by no ETA yet. We do have plans for supporting more Zigbee devices but, unfortunately, we have not found any interest and most have proprietary protocols not publicly available. No, ISY is very much strong-typed; this means that it will only publish events for "known" devices (registered in ISY) and "known" events for those devices as described in our WSDK. ISY is very specialized and not generic. If you can tell me what other Zigbee devices you have on your network, then we'll figure out what's needed

ISY unable to control 2477SA1 240v Load Controller
Hi brookbphx, This same issue has been reported by others and the problem is that the device itself is i2cs but subsequent queries by ISY for engine version fail. As such - and as LeeG suggested - it's very important for us to see the contents of the event viewer. Furthermore, please try right mouse click | Diagnostics | Query Insteon Engine ... if this works, then the problem is as those reported by others. With kind regards, Michel

Zigbee vs Z-wave
Hello tflores, ZS series is for SmartGrid communications; i.e. it can communicate with your SmartGrid meter. Ecobee and NEST both have proprietary protocols that are not public and thus cannot be supported. ZWave is coming along pretty well ... this said, if you want to use ZWave, you would have to replace the SmartGrid/Zigbee radio with a ZWave radio. You cannot have both. With kind regards, Michel

ISY99i/IR Pro vs. ISY994i
Hello homejones, Although there are not very many differences between 99i and 994i at the moment, but the additional memory in 994i provides for extended functionality and support. Whereas, with 99i, we will reach a time when we cannot add any more functionality (including INSTEON device support). The modules you wish to add are supported in 99i. So, if you are looking for a static installation whereby you are done after initial configuration, then 99i would be OK. If you have more grandeur plans, then may I humbly suggest 994? With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.3.2 (Beta) Is Now Available!
Hi Teken, Thank you. This should work with Admin Console as is. Also, I got your email and it worked properly from my Admin Console. I suspect something in the computer (perhaps firewall) is blocking https to ISY from Java. With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.3.2 (Beta) Is Now Available!
Hello apostolakisl, We will check into the clock issue. It might be that the clock updater in the UI is not working properly. Hello Teken, If you know how to get certificate information from Opera, then that's all I need. Again, the only reason Java would not work is if for some reason your system is using SSLv2. If you wish, you can send your remote URL to support@universal-devices.com and we can check remotely. ski2020, yes and unfortunately so. SSLv2 is not secure. With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.3.2 (Beta) Is Now Available!
Hi Teken, If you can get to ISY via https using a browser, then the problem is that your Java client is using SSL_v2 for negotiations. This has major security implications. Do you have the same problem from any one of your computers? Can you use Chrome, go to https://your.isy.ip.address, login, and then click on the lock in the address bar and post the image. I need to know what version of SSL is being used. With kind regards, Michel

KPL 8 Button Scene Error "Request Failed"
Hi Mike, Thank you. It's normal for v.36 not to let you turn the load off using the sub buttons. For v40, please do make sure you add the KPL and then follow up with Right Mouse Click | Query Insteon Engine. Please do be kind enough to have the event viewer running at max level (3) when you experiment and either send the contents to support@universal-devices.com or post it back to this post. With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.3.2 (Beta) Is Now Available!
Hello apostolakisl, Can you check your error log and see whether or not you have any NTP errors? It's possible that the UI's time might be out of synch with ISY (it synchs every 5 minutes) but 15 minutes off is NOT normal. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Teken, Thank you. Can you use a browser and go to https://your.isy.ip.address[:https_port]? What do you get? With kind regards, Michel

KPL 8 Button Scene Error "Request Failed"
Hi Mike, Yes, please do keep us posted with what you find. In older versions of KPL you could not turn off the load. When you click on any of those nodes, what do you see as far as the model/firmware version on the Admin Console? And, what is the UI version (Help | About)? With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.3.2 (Beta) Is Now Available!
Hi Teken, I assume you are on MAC. If so, here's an excerpt from the instructions: 4. Important We have removed SSLv2 support (very insecure) from ISY99/ISY994. Unfortunately, the only protocol supported by MAC with Java 1.6 is SSLv2. As such, you MUST upgrade your MAC to Java 1.7 (Software Update) With kind regards, Michel

Automated door knobs
Hi healeydriver, 994i series comes with an interface which allows you to either install our Zigbee daughter board OR ZWave serial dongle (not both). So you can have INSTEON and ZWave at the same time. We are still in alpha ... if you would like to be notified of when we are in Beta, please sign up for either Beta and/or News here: http://sales.universal-devices.com/my-account With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.3.2 (Beta) Is Now Available!
Hello apostolakisl, Was your Admin Console on for 24 hours or had it just been launched? I am trying to figure out whether or not the problem was UI not being in synch vs. ISY clock actually being slow. Hello Lee Fleischman, Would you be kind enough to send us your log and preferably only entries 15 minutes prior and after the occurrence of this scenario. With kind regards, Michel

KPL 8 Button Scene Error "Request Failed"
Hi Mike, By any chance were these KPLs replaced with another KPL using the Replace menu option? If so, the problem is that the replace function may not work on I2CS devices. If at all possible, what I recommend is this (at least on one of the KPLs): 1. Remove the KPL from ISY 2. Do a factory reset on it 3. Register back into ISY 4. Right mouse click | Diagnostics | Query Insteon Engine 5. Try adding the last button into a scene Also, how many links do you have in your PLM? With kind regards, Michel

Automated door knobs
Hello healeydriver, Comments below. You will not need Schlage's service and neither do you have to pay the monthly fees. Communications will be two way. We have not been able to get the APIs for Zigbee. ZWave is much more likely With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.3.2 (Beta) Is Now Available!
Hello LeeFleishman, There are two different scenarios here: Fan Mode - can only be on/auto Fan State - this is the node which should give you the status of the fan If the Fan Mode is automatically turning to On, then please do be kind enough to check your logs to see if any entity (web/program/query) is actually changing the mode as it should NOT change by itself. If it does then the the problem might be the inconsistency between the API for the integrated one vs. the non-integrated one. Unfortunately I have not been able to reproduce this condition with my integrated thermostat. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Michael, Thanks so very much for the report. We shall look into it. With kind regards, Michel

isy and "portforwarding" via apache proxypass
Thank you and thanks for sending your URL. It seems that something (perhaps a firewall rule) is blocking Admin Console's request. I suspect it might have to do with one of the http headers which causes the whole message to be filtered out. With kind regards, Michel

Need help turning insteon device "off" with REST
Hi satwar, I am so very sorry to hear. I think the problem is definitely in mControl software. Have you tried contacting their tech support? In short - and the answer to your question - there should be no difference between issuing commands from mControl vs. IE or any other browser. Do you get any errors in mControl? With kind regards, Michel
