Release 3.3.2 (Beta) Is Now Available!
Hello Candide, I am so very sorry ... something is very wrong here and I suspect the problem is a corrupt SD Card. Do you have another SD Card readily available? Hi LeeFleishman, We'll look into it. With kind regards, Michel

isy and "portforwarding" via apache proxypass
Hello captndelta, Apologies for tardy reply. Ok, at this point, the only thing we can do to diagnose is to login to your ISY remotely (hopefully through the same proxy). If you are OK with this, please send your remote IP address (for the ISY) to tech@universal-devices.com . With kind regards, Michel

isy and "portforwarding" via apache proxypass
Thank you. I notice that the exception is related to RCSDriver which basically rules out anything network related. I think the problem is that the applet is not being downloaded properly. What I recommend is this: 1. Clear your Java cache (very important) 2. Go to http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/admin.jnlp ... this should install an icon on your desktop 3. In the INSTEON Finder, click on the Add button 4. Enter the URL for both the local and the remote 5. Double click on the remote Let me know what you get on in the Java console. With kind regards, Michel

isy and "portforwarding" via apache proxypass
Thank you. ISY checks the URL base against the requested URL and then decides whether or not you are local. At the moment, ISY thinks that you are remote. This said, you should not have this problem UNLESS http://isy.domain.tld resolves to the same IP address as ISY (192.168.1.99) in which case nothing would work. Is this the case? i.e. if you do nslookup for isy.doman.tld, do you get 192.168.1.99? With kind regards, Michel

isy and "portforwarding" via apache proxypass
Hello captndelta, The first question I have is: what do you get when you type http://isy.domain.tld:80/desc in your browser. Does it work? If so, can you copy/paste what you see on your browser here? With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.3.2 (Beta) Is Now Available!
Hello all, I am happy to announce the availability of our 3.3.2 (Beta) release! For a list of changes, please take a look at this post. This is a minor release. Know Issues - None Things to test: - Thermostat Status - Control/status issues (reported by apostolakisl) - IOLinc options - FanLinc options - TempLinc/Thermostats - I2CS MorningLinc - ELK at startup - HTML emails - 994 - SSL/HTTPS Important Information 1. Important Brultech module is no longer supported on ISY99 Series. Please contact sales@universal-devices.com for options 2. Important NetBios removed from ISY99 Series. You can no longer access ISY by going to http://isy on Windows 3. Important If you have a 994, you will need to re-install a certificate. Please review ISY994 Series Advanced Network Security Configuration for more information. 4. Important We have removed SSLv2 support (very insecure) from ISY99/ISY994. Unfortunately, the only protocol supported by MAC with Java 1.6 is SSLv2. As such, you MUST upgrade your MAC to Java 1.7 (Software Update) 4. Please note that Safari does not support SSL session reuse and thus might take an exorbitant amount of time to communicate with ISY. As such, when using 2048 bit SSL, it's best not to use Safari. 5. If you are using the Irrigation Module and are upgrading from releases prior to 3.1.5, you must edit the programs using Irrigation variables and save the programs again. Irrigation module is no longer on promotion 6. Upgrading from 3.1.3 and below: If you are using WeatherBug Module's Rain Today in your programs, please note that the precision has changed from 1/10 to 1/100 and thus your programs might not run properly 7. For a discussion of variables, please look at our Program Variables forum. Instructions: 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY). If you are backing up a 3.1.6 system, please note that the backups are corrupted. If you have a backup from prior releases, you should be OK 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99i Series ISY 994i Series 3. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 4. Choose the file saved in step 2 5. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache 6. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet --- Security Warning: Due to recent Java security problems, it's best to always use method #d b. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application c. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.3.2 - applet --- Security Warning: Due to recent Java security problems, it's best to always use method #d d. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.3.2/admin.jnlp - Java application Best method to access Admin Console Dashboard - not fully supported - http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3. ... board.jnlp 8. Please backup your system again Thanks and with kind regards, Michel

Release 3.3.1 (Beta) Is Now Available!
Hi NuttyComputer, I am not sure which firmware version SmartHome is going to go to production with. We tested with v2.4 and perhaps beta. You might want to contact SmartHome. The other issue should be fixed in 3.3.2 to be released today. With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.3.1 (Beta) Is Now Available!
hello hbsh01, I am so very sorry for the trouble ... it seems that SmartHome will NOT finalize the API documentation till next week. It was my mistake to assume that they both used the same firmware but they do not. I do apologize. Once the API docs are available, we'll work on it. Again, sincere apologies. With kind regards, Michel

Java Console Connection Question
Hi Guys, Communications with ISY and subscriptions (ISY -> Computer) are two different things. ISY is dropping subscriptions because it cannot connect to your computer or something is blocking it. With kind regards, Michel

Set Variable Based on Thermostat Temp, Cool & Heat Setpoints
Hi hbsh01, Normally, I don't mind giving an ETA but it seems that most of our estimates, even though accurate, are completely dictated by external things of which we are not in control. A case in point is I2CS which basically put us back for about 5 months trying to address a variety of issues and anomalies. I can tell you that it's planned for the release cycle following the end of the current INSTEON project. I am so very sorry I cannot be more specific. With kind regards, Michel

How to trouble shoot this?
Hi mitch236, This program is being repeated (in a loop): Scene:Outdoor / Front Yard / Outdoor Front Off 0 Tue 2012/09/11 06:39:12 PM Program Log What you need to do is to go to the Programs tab and use Find/Replace to find all occurrences of Scene:Outdoor / Front Yard / Outdoor Front in the Action section. In all likelihood, one of those programs is causing a loop. With kind regards, Michel

Cant Connect new win 7 computer
Hi mdyod, Please note that due to some Java security issues, some browsers (especially IE) may have deactivated Java altogether. Can you make sure Java is still enabled in your browser? Does this happen on all browsers? What's your Java version? With kind regards, Michel
