Thermostate with Humidity Sensor Error Reading
Hello bktong, There is surely a problem with your installation since you should be able to get the status of the fan control node and mode without having to query the thermostat. If you have a V2 thermostat, please do be kind enough to remove it from ISY and make sure it's in the OFF mode before linking it back in. I did go through the code and ISY does indeed divide humidity by 2 (as it does the temperature and set points). This said, however, I have just ordered another humidity sensor to test just to make sure there are no bugs in ISY. With kind regards, Michel

Device = Null
Hello pgreen, Apologies for the inconvenience. I just tested the Admin Console and it does not allow for null values to be set. In any case, would you be kind enough to submit a ticket (http://www.universal-devices.com/contact.htm )? We'll try to log in remotely and see what's going on and help resolve it. With kind regards, Michel

Understanding IF then Else
Dear dbroere, Thanks so very much for your feedback. Although I acknowledge the documentation is not where it should be but I do humbly request that you revisit the Wiki ( http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... e#Programs ) for it includes the basic and fundamental constructs for programming. The sheer number of different permutations of the things you can do with programs prevents us from having a programming by example section. That's where the forum comes in with real examples. And, finally, if you are stuck with some programming questions, we are always readily available to help. But, in all cases, you must understand the basic concepts (especially this section http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... tion_Order) With kind regards, Michel

Hello geekinc, Can you get to the HTML page? And, can you login to your router and see what IP your ISY currently has? With kind regards, Michel

Thermostate with Humidity Sensor Error Reading
Hi all, We are trying to figure out what's causing this error. The main problem is this: Thermostat values are always multiplied by 2 to allow for Celsius. Humidity is sometimes sent multiplied by 2 and sometimes not. With kind regards, Michel

Error code question
Hi mitch236, That error means two things: 1. Your SMTP server does NOT like the recipient (TO) 2. Increase the timeout in SMTP configuration dialog under Configuration/System tab With kind regards, Michel

Very stable for a long time, now errors XML Parse Error
Hello geekinc, I understand. EZRain firmware update requires you to send it to SHN for an update to the firmware. Question: the program that you mentioned has not run, does ISY show the last run time? If so, is it correct? If it's correct in combination with the fact that you cannot change the timeout value for EZrain, points to INSTEON communication issues. The fact that you get XML parse errors and your program summary/detail tabs do not show, point to a faulty PLM. So, at the moment, I have to conclude there's something wrong with the PLM. With kind regards, Michel

Very stable for a long time, now errors XML Parse Error
Hello geekinc, Thanks so very much for the update. As far as EZRain, please note that we never officially supported this device. This said, however, during the past month and with tremendous help from LeeG, we have finally gotten rid of all the quirks in the communications with EZRain devices. We now have release 2.8.0 which is in pre alpha phase and if you are interested AND you have the latest EZRain firmware (which fixes some memory access issues) then please send an email to tech@universal-devices.com and we'll send you the link to download. With kind regards, Michel

Very stable for a long time, now errors XML Parse Error
Hi geekinc, Also, please go to Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Status/Info and make sure that it says Connected. Otherwise, your ISY is in safe mode since it cannot communicate with the PLM. This explains the XML parse errors and the program tabs not showing up. With kind regards, Michel

Simple I hope
Hi Tim, Got it. I think Rand has provided you with the link which is very important when you are linking RLs. In short, when you want to get out of programming mode, you should NOT click any of the 1 through 6 buttons otherwise that specific button will no longer send on! I think that's what you are experiencing! Unfortunately, restore will not fix this issue. You will have to remove the RL from ISY, do a factory reset on it and then add it back to your scenes (you might want to try factory reset/restore combination just to make sure it won't work). With kind regards, Michel

ISY Control of Thermostats with TriggerLinc
Hello Duncan, You seem to be quite well versed with ISY programming so I am going to make this short and quick: 1. You can use the state of a program as variables and therefore as conditions for other programs 2. To make a program explicitly true, in the Action section of Thermostat Off, choose the variable program and then apply Run Then. To make if false, choose Run Else 3. Use the status of this program in your Thermostat On program. i.e. this program could have only been turned to true if and only if Thermostat Off was run I hope it makes sense. With kind regards, Michel

Simple I hope
Hello aLf, The first issue is normal: you can only control scenes by clicking on the scene itself and then choosing on/off etc. I am not sure I understand the second issue. Would you clarify please? With kind regards, Michel

Program that runs when ELK Arm/Disarm???
Hi killervette, Unfortunately, at the moment, it has to be a real INSTEON device. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Steven, You can use From/To. i.e. From Sunset (+/- offset) To 12:00 AM (next day) With kind regards, Michel

SwitchLinc as controller only
Hello Steven, You can read device configuration upon registering the device in ISY. In the add device dialog, you have 3 options: 1. remove existing links ... none of the device configuration is read 2. add devices found in links ... it only adds devices that are found in the device configuration 3. import existing links ... this will try to recreate all your established scenes and configuration From experience, I can tell you that it's much easier, safer, and less time consuming if you configured everything in ISY. Depending on how you have configured your devices, there might be some missing/phantom links which could cause major problems later on. With kind regards, Michel

Program that runs when ELK Arm/Disarm???
Killervette, Currently, the only way of doing this is to assign one of your INSTEON/X10 devices as a variable: 1. In ELK, create rules that turn on/off that device in ISY 2. In ISY, create programs that based on the status of that device, a Network Resource is activated Do you already have the Network Module? With kind regards, Michel

ISY99 and second power grid
Hello narenpublic, I do not know if you can bridge two different power grids (most probably you are going to have phase issues). You can have as many ISY's as you would like on the same network. The only caveat is that you must use the /99i/admin.jnlp so that you can choose between them otherwise (/99i) will bring up the Admin Console for the first one found on your network. With kind regards, Michel

Four Misc Questions
Hello, I do apologize for the inconvenience and the time wasted. At this point, I think it would be best to setup a call with our Tech support team. This way, we can login to your system to see what's going on and perhaps reduce the time you spend on getting things to work. With kind regards, Michel

Four Misc Questions
Hello Bonanza, Please see my comments below. With kind regards, Michel 1. For this to work, you have to make sure that your KPL version is above 1.60. Older KPLs did not allow for the sub buttons to control the load 2. Please make sure your KPL button is in toggle mode 1. Please make sure that your KPL is not in the non-toggle mode (it only sends off). Try the Button Toggle button at the bottom of the screen for that KPL to make sure they are in the toggle mode 2. Click on the KPL button in that scene, and make sure the on level/ramp rate for all other responders in the same scene are set properly. Please note an on level of 0 causes the device to turn off regardless of the command it receives 1. If you have 99 PRO series, please make sure that you are in automatic mode and not batch mode. In batch mode, all pending device operations are batched up 2. Otherwise, I would suspect signal/noise issues. Please try querying the device to see if it responds properly I think this is a defective switch

isy to plm
Dane, In addition to Brian's suggestions, it's quite possible that the device you are trying to link is already registered in ISY: 1. Go to My Lighting 2. Click on the Address Tab in the table 3. Make sure that the device you are trying to add is not already listed With kind regards, Michel
