  1. Hi matapan, May we assume that the only way that a program is to run is if all these conditions are TRUE? If so, then you could have a folder with the time condition and then you can AND the rest. And, what do you mean by Input? Can you provide an example of what you would like done? With kind regards, Michel With kind regards, Michel
  2. Hello all, Sounds like a good idea! With kind regards, Michel I second this idea! Chuck
  3. Hi sanders2222, Since we use CAT5 cable to connect ISY to the PLM, the maximum length (in optimum conditions) is about 147ft. This said, however, the safe answer is that of the standard which defines the maximum length to be 50ft. The symptoms you outlined have nothing to do with the distance between ISY and the PLM. I believe the problem you were experiencing was that, after reboot, ISY was not able to communicate with those device and thus the ON LEVEL was set to 0. In this case, then, only Fast On/Off, Off, Dim/Brighten would work but NOT On. May I humbly suggest querying those problematic devices again and if you get any device comm errors, then we have to figure out why the PLM - at its current location - cannot communicate with those devices. With kind regards, Michel
  4. Hi Moz, I am so very sorry to hear about this. Power outage may in fact cause damage to ISY in cases where ISY is powered by the PLM. The reason is that the power outage sometimes shorts out the power supply circuit in the PLM and thus there will be a huge surge (above the 30 volts threshold) which might cause damage. As far as the file system, if you still have the SD Card from the old ISY, we can possibly recover your configuration. As far as automatic backup or keeping a secondary copy in ISY, I think it's a good idea but I have yet to ascertain the frequency of changes made to a system. For instance, if changes are made on a daily basis, then I would agree. But, if changes are made every week or every month, then the automatic backup will impact complexity and performance. It's just a matter of figuring out pros and cons. In any case, if you would like to try and recover your old configuration, please insert the SD Card into an SD Card reader, zip up all the contents, and send it to support@universal-devices.com. With kind regards, Michel
  5. Hi apostolakisl, Yes, ISY should clear all those links when you use the first option in Add INSTEON Device and Start Linking modes. If they are not being removed, then I would strongly suspect the switches themselves. With kind regards, Michel
  6. Hello again, Thanks so very much for the update. I am still a little concerned: you should not have to reboot devices for them to be reprogrammed. As such, may I humbly recommend making a list of all those devices that had this problem, with their firmware versions. If you have any SWL 35s, then that might explain some of this behavior. Otherwise, you might have to check the neutral cable going to these devices. With kind regards, Michel
  7. Hi Michaelv, You may have programs that are running at startup. What you might want to do is to disable all your programs and retry. To disable all your programs, please go to My Lighting folder, uncheck All, and then add it to the if statement. This will cause an On Never condition to be applied to your folder in which case it disables all programs to run. Furthermore, you might want to check the status of your programs in the Program Summary tab to make sure that you do not have any programs that Run at Startup. With kind regards, Michel
  8. Hello apostolakisl, It all depends on how you added your devices to ISY in the first place. If they've been added by using the crawl function, then phantom links might not be removed depending on whether or not they are responders. Usually the best thing to do is to start fresh with a clean database for each device. With kind regards, Michel
  9. Hello Bruce, The errors (5011, 5012) mean that the Admin Console was not closed but shutdown and thus ISY is expiring the subscriptions. The compare function only compares what ISY thinks a device should have and what the device actually has. So, it would be unlikely (unless a bug) that ISY programs things into the switch without first having it stored in its configuration file for that device. Now, with respect to interpretation, there are only four variations: [identical] ... the device has what it should have based on what ISY thinks [ignore] ... these records are after the high watermark (have 0 on the first byte) and even though they are there, ISY ignores them (and so does the device) [extra] ... these records are at a position where ISY considers the end of the database. They should NOT be there [mismatch] ... these records are completely at the wrong place With kind regards, Michel
  10. Hi MV, May I assume that you have already spoken to our tech support team? With kind regards, Michel
  11. Hello MV, The first thing I would recommend is to reboot ISY, login to Admin Console, go to Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Status/Info. If it says disconnected, then that is where the problem is. The second thing would be to go to Tools | Diagnostics | Event Viewer, choose level 3, capture the events for about 2 minutes, and then send it to support@universal-devices.com. In short, if you see too many INST-ACK but no INST-RSP for each ACK, then the problem is that for some reason your PLM cannot communicate with the rest of your network. With kind regards, Michel
  12. Hello Mr. Clarke, We have had reports of defective devices where factory reset didn't clear out all the links. This said, however, I cannot be sure that your falls into this category. Did you import existing links when you added this device to your ISY? Here's a link to our Wiki: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Tools_Menu ... please check the Diagnostics section and scroll down to read about different options. With kind regards, Michel
  13. Hi AnthemAVM, The Else path is the culprit here (if any of the conditions is false then the Else path is run). You may want to remove the Else statements. with kind regards, Michel
  14. Hello kevincol, Is it now locked up all the time (not every 2 days)? If so, can you tell me the status of the LED lights on the front panel? Would you be kind enough to contact our tech support to schedule a tech support call? We can login remotely and diagnose the problems. With kind regards, Michel
  15. Hi sk8er02, Unfortunately we did not receive anything on Friday. Please do be kind enough to either send an email to support@universal-devices.com or fill out another form. I do very much apologize for the inconvenience. With kind regards, Michel
  16. Hi kevincol, Please let me know what version of PLM you have + please send your log file to support@universal-devices.com With kind regards, Michel
  17. Hello sk8er02, I just wanted to make sure you got this resolved (I didn't see a ticket from you). If not, please do contact us and we'll take care of it immediately. With kind regards, Michel
  18. Hello Mr. Clarke, You are absolutely correct: you can either restore a device or all devices. I am going to have both of your requested features included in our requirements list. This said, however, I would be very interested to know why you would have unexpected links in your devices. With kind regards, Michel
  19. Hi, The error is related to the fact that ISY cannot communicate with one of the devices. Please note that when you add a responder to a scene that has a controller, all controllers in the scene have to be able to respond to INSTEON commands. So, if you have any controllers that have communications problems, then that would explain the issue. With kind regards, Michel
  20. Hi Illusion, Thanks so very much for the feedback. And, YES, you are very much correct. We should have a sample system allowing people to play with all the functions within ISY. As soon as we get some free time, we are going to work on it. Thanks again so very much, With kind regards, Michel
  21. Michel Kohanim replied to aaron's topic in ISY994
Hi aaron, You should be able to get to 16GB AS LONG AS you are on 2.7.6 and above. So, please upgrade to 2.7.6 before trying your 8GB SD Card. Also, you might want to format your card using FAT. With kind regards, Michel Brian yes I followed the procedures. When I turn the unit on after inserting the new SD card the error light just blinks and I can not see it on my network.
  22. Hi Moshe, Please reboot your ISY. Normally, you should be able to click the button with a red X but there is a bug with the GUI which does not let you get out of linking mode. With kind regards, Michel
  23. Hello paintguy, The best resource is our How To Guide: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... w-To_Guide . The interface is the same for Windows and MAC since it's based on a Java applet with the following notes: 1. You need Java 1.6 2. The Network Module has some issues on MAC After you setup your devices/scenes, then you no longer need to access the Administrative Console which is Java based. You do have a variety of interfaces to choose from for monitoring and control including multiple inexpensive iPhone native applications (around $10.00). To check these out, please checkout our third part section: http://forum.universal-devices.com/index.php?c=7 . As far as the sensors, I have not seen any that are supported by INSTEON. Do you have product links? With kind regards, Michel
  24. Hi paintguy, 1. You can get alerts from sensors (IOLinc/TriggerLinc) 2. What environmental sensors did you have in mind? 3. User interface does not require knowing code BUT it is not an easy UI if you do not know the basics of INSTEON, scenes, controllers, and responders. You may want to checkout our wiki @ http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki 4. No issues connecting to FIOS ActionTec router. To setup internet access (to access ISY remotely) you will have to create manual port forwarding rules With kind regards, Michel
  25. Hello chuckl, Thanks so very much for the update. Mike Boulanger has also experienced this issue and as such we put some preventative measures in the code such that dates before 1980 and after 2030 are not accepted. This was done simply because we have not yet been able to figure out what's causing these errors. These fixes should be in our 2.7.7 release. With kind regards, Michel
