  1. I have a SWL (older one) Through Alexa I called it Kitchen Uppers and it had an issue with the word Kitchen So I called it Uppers and that seemed to work for a while. It would start asking "You have Smartlife enabled. Do you want to open it?" I have an on off water valve for the gardens (Owfeel WiFi Smart Valve WiFi Control Water Valve ) and Smartlife is the app that controls it. So I renamed it yet again. Countertop. And if I tell it to turn on 20% (or any percentage) it asks "You have Smartlife enabled. Do you want to open it?" Is there any way to stop this? Drew
  2. Just giving this topic a bump to see if anyone has any thoughts or solutions. Drew
  3. I have a SWL and a KPL that are always problematic when I give voice commands. The KPL rarely responds when I tell it to react in a scene (IE turn on upstairs 20%) It'll do nothing until I say Hallway 20% ands usually after a few repetitions. The SWL is pretty much the same. This tends to get a little frustrating. Any thoughts? Drew
  4. This worked great when I called it Skywalker. Is it too many scenes/devices/etc with the word Basement in the name? Is there a fix for this or do I have to 'turn on Skywalker' for the rest of eternity?
  5. Just checking to see if anyone had any thoughts on this issue? When I ask this KPL to turn on 30% (or any percentage) Alexa asks "Did you mean Basement Living Room?" When I say yes she just turns it on 100% Every other device (KPLs included) have no problem turning on to any percentage. The lights being controlled are dimmable. As faros I can see theres no difference in the basement KPL set up from any other in the house. Drew
  6. Sorry that should have said Theater Room. I have the SWL device in the ISY and ISY portal as ‘Theater room’ and the Alexa app online recognizes it. Exactly like everything else. nothing else had the word Theater in its description or name. Just as an aside I had to chance the name from theatre room to Theater room because she didn’t recognize that word.
  7. I noticed the issue was still lingering intermittently. I live rurally so I always blame terrible internet service first and foremost. I will try that too thank you.
  8. the title pretty much says it all. I'll ask her to turn on heater room and she'll ask that every time. She then does it but this behaviour is new. Is it an internet thing? Or a device issue?
  9. Just giving this post a bump. Hoping someone has had this issue or a solution. Should I try to Restore Device?
  10. I did as you said. I named everything Sink instead of Kitchen Sink, etc. Worked great. Thank you for that. Drew
  11. I'll check them out. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix my KPL issue?
  12. I have other rooms with similar setups and don't have a problem. (i.e. Big Room is a scene that triggers fine. Big Room Ceiling, Big Room Wall Sconces, etc are devices in that scene.) The Kitchen is basically the same. I have a scene called Kitchen. I'm pretty sure it used to trigger Kitchen Sink, Kitchen uppers, Kitchen lowers but now it says "A few things..." the scene triggers off a KPL C button fine. Just telling her to turn on Kitchen has recently been an issue. Drew
  13. I've had this issue for a while now with the KPL. Larry, what's a CAO? Other KPLs can take a command for a percentage, just not this one in particular. Is there something I can do to fix this? (i.e. rediscover or whatnot) Drew
  14. I have a scene called Kitchen. I have lights in it called Kitchen Sink, Kitchen Uppers, Kitchen Lowers. I have a scene called "Kitchen" and the voice command is called the same. When I tell her to turn on "Kitchen" she says "A few things share the name Kitchen, which one do I want?" Nothing else is called Kitchen. I don't have two scenes called kitchen, or a routine, nothing that I see. If I make the voice command Wombat it works. I'd like it to be Kitchen as I don't want to say Turn On The Wombat on a daily basis. (nothing against wombats) Drew
  15. I have a few KPLs and it seems I have an issue with a voice command for one. For the load (A button) I cant seem to tell Alexa to turn the light on to a percentage, just on or off. Its registered as a light in the ISY Portal, Alexa's online GUI has it just the same as the other lights. I must be overlooking something but I'm not sure what. Drew
  16. So it turns out it depends on how you search the Portal to check the scene. If you click on the drop down to search by scene it doesn't show you the spoken phrase (picture 1) If you search for the scene with the search function (picture 2) it shows you a slightly different screen that includes the spoken phrase (picture 3)
  17. Success. I had a Group in the Alexa website (I'm not sure what to call the page) called Library. I deleted it and now I can call the SWL Library and it behaves as it should. Just leaving my findings here to help someone else if they have the same issue
  18. Just checking to see if anyone had any ideas? I've tried deleting the SWL from the Portal and re-adding it. I have noticed the Alexa website (where I refresh and it populates the ISY stuff) calls some of my lights Amazon Smart Devices. Does this have something to do with the issue? I've tried deleting the 'amazon smart device' leaving just the library which is labeled ISY and the numbered address. It still doesn't seem to work properly
  19. I had a scene that used the spoken phrase "Living Room" I've since deleted it and refreshed everything. It still won't let me use the spoken phrase. It say "This item already has a spoken" Is there a cache I need to flush? if so, how would I go about that?
  20. I've had this issue for a while now. Under Spoken Word I have a SWL called 'Library' When I tell Alexa to turn it on she says 'Library Doesn't Support That" I have it in the Portal as a light. Not sure why it never lets me use that word. I had to make an alternate spoken 'book room' but I'd prefer Library Is there something I'm overlooking?
  21. I have a room with many lights and I want to say Turn on 10%, Turn on 20% etc. Is there a way I can make one scene, copy it several times and just adjust the brightness of the lights? Drew
  22. Hi Steve, I haven't done the work yet as I was still humming and hawing over what the better solution was. So I greatly appreciate you chiming in on this. I was leaning toward using an actual switch. I'll now hum and haw over where I want to put the switch itself. Again, thank you for posting Drew
  23. This was another thought. I have a 2477S. I just have to Find an out of the way spot for it. I figured with the attic hot in summer and cold in winter I'd have problems at some point. Thanks for the advice guys, Drew
  24. I’ve searched for Insteon module with no switch and I seem to keep finding a plug in lamplinc my scenario is this i want to install a floodlight at the peak of my house. The other side of the wall at this peak would be an empty crawl space attic. I don’t really want to put a switch up there. I once saw a module that you could just wire inline and control it from any other device. Does anyone know this device and is it good? Is it easier to just abandon a switch in the attic?
  25. Thank you Larry (for the info and the quick reply) I didn't think it would be an issue for a few Home Depot LED 60W bulbs but I wanted to check regardless. No motors, just 6 bulbs.
