I want to be able to control the light bulb above my stove (in the fan) Its 830 lumens right now so I'm assuming 800 lumens is bright enough to see what's happening on the stove. I have Alexa in the house for voice commands. Ideally I'd like voice control, dimmable, and have it change colours. I see a lot of them out there but I have no idea what's good. I read communication issues etc. I'd also like to be able to integrate it into scenes/programs in the ISY. Am I asking too much? Drew

I have the shortcut but it does nothing. I'm assuming it was because I updated Java (something I never do for reasons such as this) Is it as easy as redownloading and starting again? Or am I screwed? Drew

Thank you thank you This has fixed the problem 100% I can say "Turn on Uppers 20%" and Alexa asks about Smart life I say Set Uppers 20% (or any percentage) right after and she does it perfectly.

Thanks for the tips. I did find the page you mentioned. IT said "Alexa didn't understand the question" or statement. Should I contact Amazon? Or do I fix it somehow on my end?

First off, I apologize for the vague title, I didn't know exactly how to describe my issue in the title. When I tell Alexa to "Turn on Uppers 20%" she sometimes says "You have Smart Life enabled. Do you want to Open it?" If I ask to "Turn on Uppers" usually that works fine. This only happens with the uppers and the Sink devices in the Kitchen. Other times she just does what she's asked and I cant pin down any differences in situations for the differing outcome. I have a SmartLife device that turns on a water tap for the outbuildings but I believe that's it. Everything else is Insteon Any thoughts would be great. This has happened for a while and I've tried to trouble shoot it but with no luck Drew

Hi guys, I waited a few days before posting to keep an eye on the timers etc. The problem was indeed that it put me on LA time, which I believe is 3 hours different. Not sure why that was but I'll remember to check it if theres an issue in the future. Thanks again for everyones help.

Just added a notification to the barns program. I already have a notification on the Away program. Good call. For some reason I was on Los Angeles time when it should have been Toronto. Maybe that was it? I'll see if the program runs this evening.

I'm sorry for being a dullard but I'm not exactly sure what you're asking me to do here. Do you want me to make a new program and add an email alert to it?

The reboot didn't help. Anyone have any other thoughts? Drew

Here's another Away - [ID 0014][Parent 0001] If Time is Sunset And Status 'Kitchen Sink' is Off And Status 'Kitchen Uppers' is Off And Status 'Hallway KPL-A Hall' is Off Then Set Scene 'Away' On Send Notification to 'Email' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I'm attaching a screenshot of the Programs Summary in hopes to shed more light on it. If all works well tomorrow I'll assume everything is good. Drew

I've done what you've said. Stupid question... How will I know if its fixed my issue? Will I have to wait until tomorrow night when my timer program goes off?

Hi Techman, Thank you for the reply. It seems my timers arent working. But programs such as "If the SWL is off and the device is switched off then turn on light 25%" work fine. Usually when I have an issue like this no programs or timers work at all How do I reboot the PLM and ISY? By just unplugging them and then plugging in the PLM first, then the ISY? Drew

This happens once in a while. I have some timers working and others not. I went back to my post here previously and remembered to restore the ISY restore the PLM or restore all devices. I cant remember which one I should do. Any help and advice would be great. I don't want to screw something up and have to do everything again. Drew

Internet is on Is there a procedure for unplugging or just unplug for a minute then plug back in? This happened once before and the Powerline modem burned out, this is why I'm cautious about this (Just unplugged and plugged back in. everything seems to be working fine. Thanks for the help)

I have no scenes or programs and timers running. Theres a flashing red led on my ISY And it doesn't show up in the ISY Launcher. Any help would be great. I started this issue over here... but it seems to be more than that so I started this thread Drew

For some reason I give her an order and she says "Sorry _______ isnt responding" At first I thought it might be Harmony Hub related as she wouldn't turn on Apple tv etc. But she won't turn on devices or scenes either. Any solution is greatly appreciated. Drew

Thank you! I didn't think to look in the iPhone Alexa app. I always just assumed the iPhone app was a mirror of the alexa portal. There were two entries for the scene "Upstairs fans" that were the exact same. I deleted one and now Alexa doesn't give me grief anymore. Drew

I have a scene that Alexa knows as "Turn on Upstairs Fans" There are Ceiling Lights (SWL) and a floor fan (ON/OFF Module) When I tell her to turn either one of those on or off it works fine. When I say "Turn on Upstairs fans" She says "I found more than one device..." I have gone through my ISY Portal and checked and nothing has a spoken phrase Upstairs Fans except the scene. I've updated the Amazon Alexa 'portal' as well. (discovered scenes and devices, deleted old stuff) Am I looking in the wrong area?
