Programs not working after ISY issues
andrew77 replied to andrew77's topic in INSTEON Communications Issues
I think I will do that. Thanks for the advice before I deleted stuff. If I tell Alexa to Turn On Entryway she says Entryway isnt responding. After Restoring She says Okay but the light doesn't turn on. Theres no Current state in the ISY and the device doesn't respond to GUI commands. Thanks for the help -
Programs not working after ISY issues
andrew77 replied to andrew77's topic in INSTEON Communications Issues
@apostolakisl I've started doing this and it seems to be working great. I have to delete the devices from the ISY and re add them in it seems as they won't restore. I'll keep the forum updated on my success -
Theatre 25 - [ID 0012][Parent 0001] If Status 'Theatre Room' is Off And Control 'Theatre Room' is switched Off Then Set 'Theatre Room' 25% Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I have a few programs like this and none of them work now. I tried deleting this program and doing it again but that didn't help either. In the GUI I can tell it to "Run Then" and it works I'm leaving a link to the other post where we were trying to fix my issues if that may be connected somehow. Timers are working and notifications are working. I didn't try to Restore ISY as I did that to get from the previous issue to where I am now

Hi Geddy. Thank you for checking in we’ve been running around trying to get a deck and hot tub done so I’ve been out and about more. the isy is working again. I am going to take this as a warning and get a polisy. I have a few devices that are unresponsive. I did a few tests and posted them here. Next I’m going to remove them from the isy, rediscover them with existing links and see how that goes.

@Geddy Here's the log from a KPL Tue 05/24/2022 11:36:56 AM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 0A D9 29 0F 11 00 Tue 05/24/2022 11:36:56 AM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 0A.D9.29 0F 11 00 06 LTONRR (00) Tue 05/24/2022 11:37:00 AM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 0A D9 29 0F 13 00 Tue 05/24/2022 11:37:00 AM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 0A.D9.29 0F 13 00 06 LTOFFRR(00) Tue 05/24/2022 11:43:59 AM : [ Time] 11:44:06 2(0) The first 4 lines were me turning on/shutting off from the GUI When I went to turn on/shut off from the actual device it only wrote one line I'll post the rest now

They are mainly Switchlincs and one KPL Show up with the red Exclamation mark beside them in the GUI and the usual "Cant communicate" error. I'll do more testing later today. Still cleaning up after the storm here.

Everything seems to be running (haven't checked timers etc yet) except for a few devices. I've tried right click "Restore Device" but that doesn't seem to work. Should I remove them and re add them to the ISY?
-
@Geddy Thank you for that piece of advice. I hardwired the computer to the switch the ISY is plugged into. It seems my ISY is up and running again. I'm cautious so I'll hold back any celebrations until the system has been up and running for a while. I'm also taking this 'warning' and looking at upgrades. Since I cant get Insteon stuff and 700 series Z wave seems like the best bet I'll keep on the UD site for when there is stock for the polisy models. Thank you everyone that chimed in to help this perpetual noobie with his ISY. Drew

Hi Michel, I did get your email and tried to order one off your site but it wouldn't take my shipping address. Luckily, I found one in a drawer that fit the specs. When I plug it in the TX and RX and Memory flicker slightly but then its just the power LED that stay lit. Not being able to Telnet to it makes this difficult. Anything else I can try?

I found an old power supply that seems to work. I still cant telnet into anything to format the card. I've tried IP address and /desc and just the IP address I get -bash: telnet: command not found
-
I didn’t realize they sold replacement power supplies. Problem solved.
-
I’m finding 2.1 barrels but no 2mm barrel. Is the tolerance exact or would 2.1 suffice? this seems to be centre positive and 2.1 mm.
-
Thank you for helping. Working on the situation is always better than sitting around with no direction. I’m sure this is workable
-
I've just tried unplugging it and plugging it back in a few times and the ISY isnt coming online as far as an IP address goes.
-
I cant seem to always see the IP of the ISY Right now the Launcher cant see any ISY and the Orbi doesn't list it. If I unplug and plug it back in it sometimes appears.
-
I apologize for the radio silence. We had a fast storm rip through our area and lost power for 8 hours. my issue seems to be that I can’t format the card. I’ll try again tomorrow and see. Is the only way to format it by telnet? if there’s another better way I’m open to that. drew
-
I wasn't able to format it as I cant log in to the ISY to format. I believe its a Sandisk and I'm not sure what rating it is sorry. I cant see the ISY again. I'll have to unplug and plug it back in
-
Yes. The ZIP File is called insteon_4.9.0.zip I had to download it from the Forum

Plugged it back in and now I have this. Encouraging at least. Should I restore ISY from a backup (one that was made before all this goings on)
-
I've just checked the Orbi now and the ISY has disappeared again. Last time this happened I unplugged the ISY and plugged it back in. IT then popped up but it seems to not want to stay
