  1. Just installed Insteon Smoke Bridge. I have a custom message as follows: ${sys.node.aa bb cc.name} This should send whichever of the 7 node names that is 'on' in the message Node examples from main page aa.bb.cc-Smoke aa.bb.cc-CO aa.bb.cc-Test and so on What I get is: node[aa bb cc] and 'aa b' is blue and underlined the rest of the text is black Any ideas how to fix?
  2. LeeG - Every time I try to use new Insteon Device I get cannot determine Insteon engine. If I click start linking - and press the button on the new device, it hooks up every time.... Maybe I am missing something?

I have texts sent to my phone on events. Was on Verizon, they all came from the same ' return number' and were all on one thread. Now switched to AT&T and each text comes in with a sequential return number (incremented by 1) so different thread for each text. Any idea how to remedy? Thanks, John
  10. I would like to have it open / close water valves when needed -->> reduce chance of leak with hose burst. Going to get the wiring diagram for my washer and see where I can tie in a relay.

OK, it took a bit of research, But I got Java disabled in my browser, ended up having to edit the registry. The second link in you other post needs a i after the 99 to work. So do I just leave the ISY finder box open while I am in Admin? It has a line with my isy address in there already, so I assume I don't need to add. Should I just cancle it? Now Firmware shows 3.3.8 and UI shows 3.3.9 Here is the link I show now for my desktop icon.... C:\Windows\SysWOW64\javaws.exe -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/3.3.9/admin.jnlp "C:\Users\John\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\42\754abf6a-7da699e1" Thanks, John

Stop, meaning get the isy finder pop up box to stop opening every time I open the admin console. I flashed to 3.3.8 then used the link listed under step d as recommended in the post. It creates an icon on the desktop and when used opens the isy finder popup box and admin console. Of interest it lists firmware as 3.3.8 and console as 3.2.6 under help | about. Also, I tried creating a shortcut with "http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/3.3.8/admin.jnlp" and when used it also gets the ISY finder pop up box, admin console and ALSO open Internet Explorer view and track your downloads box. Right now I am using the automatically generated icon with properties "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\javaws.exe -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=http://192.168.3.66/admin.jnlp "C:\Users\John\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\60\2cee973c-4ec43382" and it seems to work. No pop up isy finder and firmware and console both say 3.3.8, BUT the icon regenerates and goes in the bottom left corner of screen every time I launch. Thanks, John

New Install, When I start Admin Console, I get 'ISY FINDER'. I click add and enter ISY address and it creates an icon on the desktop. After I close ans start again, it comes back again....not sure why? How do I get it to stop? Also, the icon it creates has a target a mile long with a reference to Java 6 and I have Java 7 installed.... Some things just don't look right. Thanks, John
  16. Thanks guys, great info! Was really interested in the backlight operation too....any Backlight info on the Venstar? John
  17. Getting an ISY 994 and looking for a thermostst that will be compatible. The Insteon had some bad reviews....some saying that it is not not compatible with ISY The Venstar looks like you need an add on to make it work with ISY. Any help appreciated. Thanks, John
