  1. Ther's no way to directly access/control the Hub from your LAN
  2. No, currently your best bet would be to use a Zwave on/off switch
  3. The Insteon servers allowed one to access and program the Insteon Hub. For those who have a working hub, it will continue to work they just won't be able to access it via the app, make any changes to the programs, and be unable to add or delete devices from the hub. It's possible that later this year the "Insteon server" could be resurrected by a new owner as Smarthome's assets will most likely be being sold off.
  4. Techman replied to jkraus's topic in ISY994
@jkraus There are Zwave smart bulbs that will work with the ISY994 if you have the Zwave dongle add-on. Aeotec makes a Zwave nano dimmer: Smallest Z-Wave light dimmer switch • Aeotec
  5. Techman replied to jkraus's topic in Polisy
From the Polisy spec sheet: Native support for 3G/4G modems gives you the ability to go off the grid. Literally! And, if you are one of those maximum-connectivity types, this model – Polisy PRO – comes standard with Dual Band WiFi and Bluetooth (4.0)
  6. Not to worry and no need to panic, It's not over until the fat lady sings. With Smartlabs/Smarthome now in bankruptcy there exists that part, or all, of the Insteon technology can, or may, be resurrected post-bankruptcy, including support for the existing Insteon Hubs. Michel and his team are on top of this. Hang in there for a while and let's see how this plays out. Patience is a virtue.
  7. Techman replied to jkraus's topic in Polisy
The Polisy hardware has a faster processor and is an improvement over the ISY. You can migrate your Insteon programs and devices from the ISY to Polisy by doing a restore of your ISY backup to the Polisy. There're detailed instructions available online and in the UDI Wiki. The Polisy also supports the USB PLM in addition to the 2413S serial PLM It also supports the Zwave 700 protocol using a plug in Zwave module.
  8. @jkraus Take a look at the Aeotec Zwave 700 range extender. It's both a repeater and signal amplifier. It should be located within about 20 feet of your ISY/Polisy and should give you the coverage you need. Also keep in mind that each non-battery Zwave device also acts as a repeater. The repeater should be mounted as high up as possible in an area free of obstructions. Z-Wave repeater and range extender • Aeotec Range Extender 7 (ZW189)
  9. Techman replied to jkraus's topic in ISY994
What's your ISY firmware and UI version? You most likely have the older 300 series dongle which is not compatible with the newer ISY firmware.
  10. @stillwater Here's a site worth checking out: - The Internet of Things is powered by Z-Wave. (z-wavealliance.org)
  11. @webminster Increasing the PLM retries increases traffic on the Insteon mesh network and could interfere with some of your Insteon traffic. It's possible that either both sides of your powerline are not bridged or that you have noise on the powerline. I would first focus on these two rather than increasing the retries.
  12. Right now your best source would be The Smartest house which is selling it for $28.95, not sure what the shipping would be. UD has them for $32.00. Just make sure you get the ZST10 700 and not the 500 You should also buy this adapter otherwise the dongle will block the other USB slot. 13. Clear your Jave Cache and applications then use this link for the ISY Launcher https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp On Big Sur, Admin Console is no longer a separate Window System Preference | General | Prefer Tabs - set it to "in full screen" (not "always") If you still have problems then try the fix below: Java applications are blocked by your security settings Close all your browsers Go to System Preferences | Java to get to Java Control Panel Click on Delete Files and make sure you check Applications Click on the Settings Button Make sure Keep temporary files on my computer is checked Click on the Security tab on the top Click on Restore Security Prompts and then click on Restore All button on the ensuing dialog Click on the Edit Site List Click on the Add button Enter https://isy.universal-devices.com followed by hitting the Return key on the keyboard. 14. That site is for Richmand Capital Partners, Ltd, based in London Rob Lilleness, and his company, is/was based in Seattle, Washington
  15. Did you clear your java cache, including all applications, and then download a new version of the ISY LAUNCHER?
  16. @Teken, A company can submit a bankruptcy filing to the court and the court has the option to refuse the bankruptcy request, which is apparently what happened two years ago. My best guess is that they will try again depending on if there are creditors pursuing them. Even though they are essentially shut down, the Smarthome.com web site is still up, and they just renewed the domain name for an additional 10 years, so I would assume they are hoping that a buyer will pick it up,
  17. Here's some reliable but unverified information on the Smartlabs/Smarthome shutdown. They tried to file bankruptcy about two years ago, but the case was dismissed by the Judge. They defaulted on their lease at 1621 Alton Parkway and were in arrears on their rent.
  18. Your errors appear to be related to your SD card. Power down the ISY, remove the SD card and clean the contacts with a soft eraser. If that doesn't resolve your issue, then you may have to replace the card 110012 SD DRIVE CONFIG FILE OPEN READ FAILED 110022 OPEN FILE FAILED
  19. I recently had an Insteon on/off module turn on without any user or program intervention. A few days later I experienced an all on event, where several of my older modules turned on. I traced the problem back to the (failing) on/off module. I tried a factory reset / restore but the ISY had difficulty communicating with the module. I replaced the module, and all my problems went away. The defective module was a hardware version 1.0 dated 2013
  20. I just noticed that Smarthome renewed their domain name last month for an additional 10 years. So, either they plan on selling the domain or are hopeful that someone will come along and salvage the mess they left behind.
  21. Sometime after the 16542 Millikan property was sold to developers they moved to a lease in the Eureka Building at 1621 Alton Parkway. Apparently their Alton Parkway lease expired at the end of January, 2022 as their space was put on the market for lease available as of February 1, 2022.
  22. @Michel Kohanim That sounds somewhat encouraging, Can you also find out if they're sitting with any other Insteon inventory that maybe they haven't been paid for and would like to sell?
  23. I use their Multisensor 6 and Smart Switches. I've had only positive results with their devices and support. Their devices are end user firmware upgradeable which I think is a big plus. They're slowly upgrading their inventory to the series 7 chipset.
  24. Take a look at the Aeotec switch: Z-Wave light dimmer switch, illumino Dimmer Switch ‐ Aeotec If you have any questions their support team is very responsive.
