I went from an old Genie to a new Chamberlain. I am quicly learning that the newer technology doesnt work with the I/O linc the same as it did before. I have read through the posts but am still confused. I connected the wires to where the wall remote is connected with no results. Is there a different way to wire these that it will work with the ISY? Thanks

So given that explanation (excellent - thanks), I am not sure I have any comm issues. Just scene test failures - I may be back to PLM failing.

Results so far....Testing the switches in the Foyer scene = 2 ICON switches in a 3-way configuration, buttons on 2 different KPL's, and a Remotelinc button. The STD-Group lines generally show hops left=2. BUT all of the STD-Cleanup lines show hops left = 0.

So I made sure there were no LED lights on. Re-ran the test with the same result. I also read the thread you supplied - any lights that triggered a program, I disabled that program. Same result. Interestingly - I run the test 2 or 3 times in a row, and get diferent results. Most items in the scene failed BUT each time had a different item fail that succeeded the previous test. BTW - restoring the failed device didn't change anything.

And it is interesting that the network works very well. All programs trigger as they should. Every once in awhile, a KPL button (involved in a scene) will be on even though the scene has been turned off but that is rare. BUT when I do scene tests, most of the components fail (as you saw). I did have some comm problems about a year ago and I moved everything very close to the electrical box. All scenes passed and my comm problems went away. Now I have this issue - although it is not really comm problems but test failures - weird. I will check out the filterlinc

So here is a question - are the ICON switches Dual band? I didnt think they were. So If i were to trade those out for dual band switches - that might help?

My scenes seem to work fine with few anomalies. But most scenes fail. I have moved the PLM and ISY all over the house with no change in the result. Could this be a failing PLM? Stu - Totally forgot about changing the scene. BUT after that change, it ramps up the way I have it set using the console but still does not work correctly at the KPI.

Sorry guys - first jump into KPI. Normal people start slow. I threw 4 in my system without having any experience with them. I have a 6 button controlling the load in the family room. It is on a Fanlinc so I have set the "Fanlinc-Light to a 2 second ramp rate and the KPI to a 2 second ramp rate. But when I turn it on or off, it comes on/off immediately - no ramping. What am I forgetting to set?

Thanks Stu - Those make sense. Understanding the Toggle functionality a little more and setting it correctly (non-toggle - Off) has done the trick.

Yep - makes sense. I probably should have been clearer. I have a scene with mostly lights and select other items in it. I already have a program to set the "all off" scene "off" at midnight. I was just looking for the set up to turn that same scene off with one of the KPL buttons. Specifically, my confusion was KPL button swithed "on". I didnt think being in toggle mode would make this work corrrectly (obviously the first push , everything in that scene would come on). But non-toggle On I guess is what I want. Thanks Larry!

It was going to be from a KPL at the door headed to the garage. What is the thinking behind avoiding it?

I know this should be easy. Presuming that an "all off" command being sent should be done programmatically, how should the button be set up? Non toggle on? Then is the "If" condition in the program "control" - "on"? Thanks

For some reason, the original method stated by Xathros started working. Thanks for the alternative method Stu! But one other related question - when you set the "on levels", is that strictly the light levels of the button? I assume it is a load level if the button was synced to a light.

Stu They are already set that way. I would like my "off" button light to go out when selected.

Following the instructions above worked great for my new Fanlinc setup - with the exception of the "off" scene. My off button, which in my case is "D", stays lit up when selected. The on level is set to "0" for that button. Any suggestions?
