IRLinc

Lee - It does appear I am mixing some things up. First - I do have the 2411R (but it does come with the credit card remote which would transmit). Second - I do not want to control any of the theatre equipment with the 2411R, my Harmony does what I need it to do with macro commands. So my objectives are to have a scene triggered after those macros run (Receiver, TV, etc is turned on and correct sources are chosen). I want to have it turn off the lights in the rooms that surround the room with the TV. Thanks for the help!

IRLinc

Stu - I do understand the receiver linking but will this give me options to program (ie: "If ir code ir001 ...the set scene,,etc)?

IRLinc

Follow up question - For some reason, this is not making sense to me. I have the ISY upstairs on the 2nd level. My home theatre stuff is on the main level. I have the IRLinc near the home theatre. Would an IR signal go through the IRLinc and hit the ISY through the network (insteon)? why would an IR hardware (receiver) need to be in a box (ISY) that wont have access to the IR signal? Sorry - I am slow on this one.

IRLinc

For some reason, I have been unable to find this answer. Not being able to find options to program actions from my universal remote prompted this question. Do I need to purchase the IR Module to be able to do this? I was able to get the 40 codes into my Harmony ok but the ISY programing has proven to be a challenge. Thanks!
5. One quick easy example of using scenes - I (and probably most others) have a scene with all of my lights. Programmed the ISY to "All Off" at midnight (or whatever time you choose).
6. Ok! I have tweaked it to "Control" instead of "Status". And forced it "off" in the else should the timer start and sunrise or sunset status change.
7. I guess I never noticed this. Maybe because when we come home, we usually don't shut the door right away. But I thought that after the "If" was true, it would move on to the "then" and not look at the "If" again. Why would a change in status make it look at the "If" again? Thanks!
8. This one works well for me - If From Sunset To Sunrise (next day) And Status '19.5C.D1-Sensor' is On Then Set Scene 'Garage' 100% Wait 5 minutes Set Scene 'Garage' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Fanlinc

I am wanting to get a fanlinc for one of my fans and noticed while reading about it that it can control the fan AND the light. This particular fan is on a 4-way switch (3 NON-Insteon switches currently). My question is how will the Fanlinc play with regular switches? Will the light still act the way it does today?
10. Lee - it worked great! I appreciate the help.
11. I will try that and report back. Thanks!

13. So I have my Triggerlinc set in "On-Off" mode (jumper in). I verified that in the admin panel that when the door opens it turns On and when you close the door it goes Off. I have a notification program set up that when you open the door (On), it will send a text. Then I open the door - wait a couple of seconds and close the door and I get 2 text messages. I think I should only get the one when it turns on. Not a bog deal but any thoughts? If On Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu From 9:30:00AM To 5:30:00PM (same day) And Control 'Triggerlinc' is switched On Then Send Notification to 'Default' content 'Mud Room Door Entry' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Garage Door

Great News!! The garage door worked as hoped. I think moving the parens as pointed out by oberkc did the trick, Thanks for the help!

Garage Door

Just looking through my Scenes. Does this seem right?: I have my garage door KPL highlighted in the tree on the left side. In the "membership" box it shows: Garage door KPL is a responder to Garage Door Relay Scene Garage Door Sensor 19.5C.D1 -Sensor I would think the KPL should just be a responder only to the Sensor. Seems odd that it would a responder to the Relay Scene.?

Stu - sorry I don't quite understand what this means.

Garage Door

I hope I didn't state the failed action incorrectly. Within the timeframe in the "If", I went and opened door with the wall button (remember, my impression was the program was going to wait 5 minutes and close the door). I waited 5 minutes and it triggered, started to close but stopped after about 1 second and opened all the way back up. Since I moved the parens the way you suggested earlier, I am going to try again tonight - will report back.

Garage Door

Wow. I never would have guessed that failure mode. I did have one program using the sensor status to run. I disabled that program, did the testing you suggested, and after the 2nd test, all tests were successful.
20. I will do that. Thanks!!

Garage Door

So this got me looking around. I have 2 scenes related to the garage door (not sure if I need both). Basically, one is the relay and one is the sensor. They both have the KPL light in them (I am suspicious of that): <--Garage Door Relay 19.5C.D1 relay Garage Door KPL Garage Door Sensor -->19.5C.D1 Garage Door KPL Below is the Garage Door Relay scene test when opening the door: Sun 11/23/2014 05:30:09 PM : [GRP-RX ] 02 61 18 13 00 06 Sun 11/23/2014 05:30:09 PM : [CLEAN-UP-RPT] 02 58 15 Sun 11/23/2014 05:30:09 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 19.5C.D1 00.00.01 C7 11 00 LTONRR (00) Sun 11/23/2014 05:30:09 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 19.5C.D1 1F.23.5C 41 11 01 LTONRR (01)
----- Garage Door Relay Test Results -----

[Failed] Garage Door KPL (F FD A1 5)

[Failed] 19.5C.D1-Relay (19 5C D1 2)

----- Garage Door Relay Test Results -----
Sun 11/23/2014 05:30:17 PM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 00 00 18 CF 13 00 Sun 11/23/2014 05:30:17 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.18 CF 13 00 06 LTOFFRR(00) Sun 11/23/2014 05:30:17 PM : [D2D EVENT ] Event [F FD A1 5] [sT] [0] uom=0 prec=-1 Sun 11/23/2014 05:30:17 PM : [ F FD A1 5] ST 0 it PASSES when the I test it again while the door is open. 22. Hmmm...Interesting. Yes - the Mudroom ICON switch is part of the "all" scene. And that switch is part of a 3-way situation of the same load with another ICON switch. Both are part of the "All" scene.

Garage Door

Yes - I do want the door to close if we haven't closed it by that time - that part works fine. But I wanted to get fancy and say if, between these 2 times, someone opened the door with the button or the keypad (not keypadlinc, just a garage door number keypad), it will close after 5 minutes. Likely, if someone is using the garage door during those times, I want to make sure it closes again if they forget. It just looked to me like when the sensor went "on" during those times (ie someone opened the door), that would start the timer and after 5 minutes the relay would be selected "on" again (ie shut the door). Maybe I don't understand I/Olincs as well as I should. I will go learn more about that
24. oberkc - I probably should have included the first program. Here they are together: Program 1 If From Sunset To Sunrise (next day) And Control 'Triggerlinc' is switched On And Status 'Island (Mudroom Door ICON)' is Off Then Run Program 'Mud Room Lightup - 2' (Then Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Program 2 If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Disable Program 'Mud Room Light Up - 1' Set Scene 'Island' On Wait 15 minutes Set Scene 'Island' Off Enable Program 'Mud Room Light Up - 1' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Then at midnight, this one runs: If Time is 12:01:00AM Then Set Scene 'All' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Scene "All" has every light in it. When program 2 starts (triggered by Triggerlinc), it turns on the island light and starts the 15 minute timer. It seems to work well. Last night though, program 2 ran, started the timer, then the scene "all off" ran but that light didn't turn off like the rest of them. But I tested today by forcing the "thens" to run and it didn't duplicate this. Not a big deal but I was just curious if the timer running "overrode" that midnight scene for some reason. Thanks for the input.
25. Thanks Lee - I will look around.
