  1. What you're experiencing is an issue with the isy not your devices or Plm. I'm leaning towards what DennisC suspects and that you've maxed out your isy. Try deleting a scene that you don't really use and see if you can create another then.
  2. @Chris Jahndoes this address the issues with locks that many of us has had with 5.3+?
  3. Did you clear your Java cache
  4. Insteon uses RF not wifi. Your modules are Powerline only so moving your isy can potentially change things though I doubt it will as long as your phases are properly bridged. The only way to know however is to try.
  5. Did you recently update your isy? What's the firmware and ui? Did you try admin admin
  6. I don't know what you backed up so I can't say. Whichever had the last working configuration
  7. After restore Plm do restore devices. Ensure your firmware and ui matches
  8. He posted the directions because many times people will replace their Plm saying they did it properly.....turns out they didn't. Does the Plm that shows in the isy match the Plm you are using? What were your steps in exact order? Firmware and UI?
  9. Its not a mesh issue. I have about 30 zwave devices in my home. Different sensors and outlets that are in the same area work perfectly everytime. It's an issue that started with 5.3 and got worse with 5.3.1. Go back to 5.0.16 it works great again. It's also an issue in other homes that I use for testing as well. 5.0 16 works fine, 5.3.1 doesn't at all. All other devices are great otherwise... Just locks
  10. It's easy to remember a double tap. Once you get past 2, it's hard to remember stuff and harder to pull it off properly everytime
  11. True... But that's why we have the isy. Lol
  12. I don't get it either. I do use a double tap for some stuff but that's generally just for opposite control ie: turning on lamps at night goes full on then dims down late. if it's after 10 they turn on dim but double tap turns fully on. I also do it when there's shared buttons between me and my wife such as the music buttons.
  13. That's how automation should be. Apps not needed at all
  14. It's crazy how such a simple concept can drive people crazy. I always thought it would be easier to learn. I got tired of it which is what got me started with presents. Now just hit the relax button and the lights come on dim. No holding necessary.
  15. I've taken the Lutron courses but I don't install it because I think their switches are ugly. The system works great though for a very long time. For the cost, I'd go with C4. Depending on options it'll be slightly more expensive but not prohibitively more expensive. The switches look wonderful (especially if you get them custom etched). Knowing what I know; personally I wouldn't install any system that I could not maintain myself. I don't care how great it or the installer is, something will go wrong at some point. Yes, that many devices is daunting but not impossible. If you take time to plan and map out what you want, it actually becomes quite easy. Most just get stuff, install and then figure out what they want and it becomes as huge mess. For example, think about how you use your system today and what things you can see yourself doing tomorrow. What kind of devices does that require. Once you know your devices, you can hire an electrician, pull out the old stuff and have him install the new. You can link your 3 way switches immediately and then use the switches as dummy switches as you figure out the rest. Start with the easy stuff such as basic times for yard lights and other outdoor lighting. If you have a plan from the start, you can build out your scenes early on for things like your away, goodnight, all off/on, etc. Add devices to those as you add them to the Isy and you've just made it that much easier for yourself later. Planning can't be reiterated enough. That's why your installer makes it looks so easy while most diy people struggle. The more time you plan before the install, the easier it'll be
  16. It doesn't increase value in itself but it is a selling point for those who want automation. It also depends on where you are living. I know my clientele in SoCal tend to want automation while in NC it's not as big of a selling point. Many people are scared of maintaining an automation system. They're fearful of what happens when it doesn't work. Who do they call when they need help (installers go out of business), how much will it cost to replace (if your installer isn't around, a new one will probably replace it), and cost for maintenance. While a person who can afford a multi million dollar house should be able to afford the system, that may not be something they want to spend money on. Especially on a system that's already 10+ years by the time it comes to selling the house. Yes it's new today but it'll be ancient in the future. It really comes down to whether you want to do the work or pay someone to install and maintain it for you. Just know, service calls aren't cheap
  17. Ive had nothing but problems with 5.3.1 and yale locks. I don't know what's changed but communication sucks. It was bad with 5.3 and only got worse. Hopefully @Michel Kohanimand Udi can get it back to where it used to be
  18. As always, clear your Java cache after an update and use the launcher from the update download page
  19. Does your UI match your firmware
  20. Philips has a warm glow version as well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017RX1JES/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_SUKbGb263JRJ2
  21. I use warm glows as well in all my homes without issue. They dim lowest of any led bulb I've tested over the years and I like the way they become warmer. Obviously it's far from being like an incandescent bulb but the effect makes them much more enjoyable than standard led bulbs when you dim them. I have found their b12 bulbs that looks like a crown inside works better than the other style. Other than that, they've been spot on across the line in regards to performance
  22. That wouldn't help. They know people want them and they want them in stock. Just having a hard time with it.
  23. You aren't the only one in need. Posting on a forum is a bad place for technical support. The time it takes going back and forth (along with dealing with a multitude of other stuff) is time consuming. A forum is good for quick support but when undivided attention is required, yes you need to call it in. By using the proper support channels, UDI can keep track of issues and possible fixes. They also can take the necessary time to get you where you want to be. It's akin to having a complicated conversation over the phone or via text. If you pick up the phone and call, you can accomplish in 10 minutes what it may take an hour to do if you text
  24. The forum is not the place to go to UDI for help. That's why they have a support page to submit a ticket. This is a peer to peer forum. The place to go for your peers to help. While UDI does chime in from time to time, help from them on here is not a guarantee.
  25. Ge devices work great with the ISY. How close was it to your ISY? Does your firmware and UI match?
