    ISY app

If memory serves correct (it's been about 5 years), getting it connected wasn't that hard. Just designing it was the tedious part

    ISY app

You're pretty much doing the work yourself. They have everything you need though to get it working though. I did one a long time ago. It took a while. However if you're going the path of a touchscreen interface, it's worth it.

    ISY app

I can understand that. However that's more of a static situation such as with my RTI touch panels. With that said, check out command fusion. It'll allow you to design your own

    ISY app

In addition to what I said, voice control is making a control app a waste. Using Google assistant for example, you can still control your system away from home with that. If you wonder if you left a light on, tell Google to turn your lights off and it will. No need to go through the process of finding the app, opening it up, finding the device and clicking a button.

    ISY app

I can't agree with something that I don't agree with. It's been so long since I've touched an app that it's hard for me to justify one. Even on the client side of things, I don't give them an app until they've lived with their system for at least a month. Early on it was to show off for friends. Once that novelty wore off it became an extra app on their phone. Mobilinc x looks really good. However I can't get into it until/unless it supports the UDI portal and a set fee. I just can't see spending more on an app in 3 years than I did on the actual controller over the same amount of time.
  6. I didn't think that. I have a couple and was just confirming that it works with the new firmware
  7. No. It has the switch built in. https://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-Z-Wave-Plus-Wireless-Smart-Lighting-Control-Motion-Switch-26931/303468678?cm_mmc=Shopping|G|Base|All-Products|All|All|PLA|71700000014585962|58700001236285396|92700010802552412&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrJ7nBRD5ARIsAATMxsvfQlT51fsapQMZDU0Q4j91_peO6Q0ZM0jWjCqckAAGO1Gq0qP5NUwaAtndEALw_wcB
  8. Ge has one. A dimmer and a relay version
  9. I know the new version of the siren works with the 5.0
  10. Post your actual scenes so we can see how they are set up. I suspect since you haven't configured your scenes, there's a conflict somewhere.

    ISY app

Even if UDI created their own app, it doesn't mean others would like it any better since app interfaces are a subjective matter. There are many complaints about the smarthings app. Comparing UDI to smarthings and neocontrol is like comparing apples to oranges. The only thing similar is that they work with smart products. Smarthings is a glorified remote. It needs an app. The ISY is an automation control. Programmed fully, the need for an app diminishes greatly. Compare that to Neo control whose app looks great. However good luck at getting it at the same pricepoint as the isy. I like ISYs model as it doesn't force me into any one system. Choice and control is of the utmost importance to me which UDI gives. I cam use an app or not. I can try different apps to find the best fit vs only 1 app that I may or may not like. Mobilinc does have a new app called Mobilinc X. You also have agave, ekeypad, and others.
  12. Should this happen again, I'd look at the Alexa app to see what phrase Alexa is hearing just in case it's different than what you're saying.
  13. You should never link devices outside of the isy as the isy would not be aware of them which is partly why your set up is not working. The other part is the isy ONLY talks to the device that you are having it talk to. You need to add both devices to the isy, create the scenes properly and then add the scenes to Alexa to control. I would recommend taking the time to read the wiki and different posts on the forum to familiarize yourself with how the isy works.
  14. A backup is exactly what the name implies. A backup of your configured system. It restores your Isy back to what it was at the time of the backup
  15. With fibaro, I found it best to click it's button 3 times to wake up prior to updating parameters. I also turn off automatically put devices to sleep while updating to let the device time out on it's own once done.
  16. I doubt it's the device since it doesn't beep until it's added to the isy via the restore. If it were a bad device it would beep once reset and outside of the isy. If you don't feel like going through re-adding it to the isy and the scenes it's part of, a replacement device would be the easiest fix. The downside is whatever configuration is causing the problem will likely be transferred to the new product as well.
  17. Just to add to what MWester said, this applies to all zwave devices. UDI does not determine their parameters. You'll always have to check with the oem for your parameter settings.

    Best Doorbell?

The doorbird can be used wirelessly. They just have connections for Ethernet as well. Since my house was new, I had cables ran.

    Best Doorbell?

The resolution could be higher but with most interactions being on a small display, I haven't felt it to be much of a hindrance. Even going through my matrix switch to view on my TVs hasn't been a great issue. If I was using it to be a pure security cam I'd probably want better. The pros outweighs the cons for me. Everything is hardwired not wireless and should doorbird go under my system will continue to work (except for their app)

    Best Doorbell?

I use doorbird as it allows everything to be hardwired and operated locally. Its wired to my NVR so I don't have to go through anyone else's servers for recording. It's also connected to my system with an elk doorbell and ring detector. This allows me to use an iolinc with the system and connect with the isy as well.
  21. I remember those days of trying to program everything. The one lesson I learned was that it caused more problems than it solved. The thing I learned was when stuff worked great it was the best thing in the world. However when it didn't, (even if 10% of the time) it was the most aggravating thing out there. There's no perfect way to accomplish what you're trying to do and long term it'll probably be a bigger headache than simply using a button as you walk into a room or voice control. The system simply cannot account for intentions. Passing through the room multiple times in a 5 minute period will end up turning the fan on as the countdown would be extended. The times you (or someone else) may not want the fan on it would still trigger With that said, I would change the time out on the sensor to something like 4 minutes. Then I would say if sensor was switched on and not switched off wait 5 minutes then set fan on. The long delay allows the sensor to stay on just in case a person isn't moving alot while in the room. If it picks them up then It would continue to stay in the on position which would then trigger the fan on
  22. I use insteon with RTI and love it. However I would not use the isy as an all in one system such as control4. I'm with Scott in regards to Insteon at that scale. It can be done but I would only be willing to touch it if it were under construction and I had a say in how the house would be wired. Radio take isn't a bad setup. I'm just not a fan of their switch design. I love control 4 switches. Due to that I would go with them. Just remember these systems cost time and money. In trying to save them money you'll lose it and time.
  23. As Michel stated, I don't believe that Mobilinc is trying to compete. They are simply trying to control the process they use which they can't do by going through someone else's servers. Besides, Wes has already stated that if demand is high enough he is willing to add udi portal service. If anything, Mobilinc needs UDI more than the other way around. Without the isy, Mobilinc didn't work but without Mobilinc the isy does work. The ISY was designed to be an automation controller. It doesn't need apps with it unless you choose to use one. With time and effort one can quickly outgrow the need for apps. I have sensors, remotes, voice control all running my stuff. Because of that I haven't touched my app in over a year. There are other apps such as agave and ekeypad. Simply search your app store for Isy or universal devices.
  24. I didn't know that was one of your requirements. It is cloud based so it wouldn't fit your needs
  25. I use the ecobee3 and love it. Mine isn't added to my Isy as it works fine for me on its own. However if you want to control it with your Isy there is a node server for it. Should any of them go down, I'd love to try Glas. Not for any particular reason other than I like how it looks.
