  1. You're posting all over the place which will only cause confusion for yourself and others. Take the time to read all of the posts since all of your questions and steps are highly detailed in the first few forum posts. If you follow the instructions in all of the posts that were linked to you throughout your posts, you'll find it's actually pretty easy to setup and get going. @asbrilwill lie to you and tell you how non technical he is... Yet he's been able to follow these same instructions (as most of us) to get up and running. If it's too much at this time, my recommendation would be to wait until you have had time to research the information in front of you and are comfortable with the process and potential issues that can arise. As great as everything is for most of us, there's still work to be done.
  2. You really should take the time to read the Isy on polisy forum before jumping in. The first few posts answers your questions. I get that it feels easier to simply ask than take the time to read everything. However the additional time used to fully read everything that people has come across will better prepare you for any issues that may or may not crop up as well as give you more insight to what you'll have to do https://forum.universal-devices.com/forum/179-isy-on-polisy/ https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/34826-zwave-700-series-tips-and-tricks/
  3. When you upgrade your polisy, it'll update to the latest releases. Update polisy first via ash, and then restore your backup. If you're not comfortable taking chances, you're better off waiting until they are out of this phase and things progress to the next level. While myself and many others are using polisy successfully, there are still issues that can impact those who are less aggressive in running the latest and greatest
  4. Their ticket process was so slow, i ordered a new one from Amazon and returned the old. New one updated with zero issues
  5. There's a whole subforum dedicated to polisy/IOP (it states polisy). Its easily found on the forum homepage. I would recommend reading all of the different subjects so that you know it's history and journey. The most recent topics will educate you on where it's at currently if you do not want to take the time to read everything
  6. There's the UD Mobile app which has been out for over a year that can be used with the Isy and polisy. I'm not a fan of the interface so I don't use it but there are many others here that use it successfully and are happy with it. I'll be the first to say that zwave sucks for lighting but it's usable to a certain degree depending on what matters to you and how you use it. The problem with most new zwave users (especially those with existing systems) is that most do not take the time to invest in build a strong mesh network. They'll get 1-3 devices and think everything should be perfect. Users who invest in building out their network normally do not have system issues though the experience itself is lacking. This holds true with any automation system. If deployed improperly, even pro level systems such as Ra2 will leave a bad taste. The future is unknown but at the same time comes down to the individual and what best fits their needs, finances, and commitment level. The main thing is being willing to fully research the pros and cons of any system. Investing the time, money, and effort to see if it meets your needs and how to deploy it to achieve maximum results and grow into future expansion and capabilities. Controllers such as the Isy actually make things easier since you aren't bound to just insteon and zwave. With the way I control my home, i could get away with any supported switch to control hue bulbs. My actual plan is to use Lutron radio ra3 with polisy (if it supports it) or Control4 (potentially with Ra3).
  7. Updating does not erase your information.
  8. I think a combination of the 2 should be used. Connected: Running, Connected:Not running, or not connected depending on situation. This will help with troubleshooting as it'll help users identify where an issue is
  9. This depends on firmware. Up to 5.0.16, Yale worked perfectly with the Isy. After that is when issues started happening with communication and some features not working. One example is being able to tell the difference between keypad locking and manual locking (there's more). Since the op didn't give any system details, he may be experiencing other issues vs. it simply doesn't work
  10. @Michel KohanimI am experiencing the same thing on both of my polisy's which are on the latest firmware. Both ISY994's are showing the correct time
  11. For future reference, If you group devices before you rename them, they'll stay in order after you rename them
  12. Unfortunately that's zwave for you. Their associations are for device to device communication not controller to device. The closest feature they have for what you're looking for is the deprecated all on/all off command which will turn off every single device that supports it.
  13. Both the zooz stick and modules are 700 series so you would see greater range than with the 500 series dongle that comes with the isy
  14. Did you update the zen to turn on the insteon device within your scene as well?
  15. It's only been a day. Keep it unplugged to see what happens over the next weekend. If nothing happens, book up the Isy and see what happens. If it happens, delete the device from the isy and then re-add
  16. You need repeating devices. The very first post on this zwave forum gives some information about zwave
  17. That's just what the Isy shows not what the device is set to. Every mfg. has different default settings that's built into the device. You'll want to check the full manual to see where they have it set to by default and whether you would want to change it on not.
  18. As stated earlier, this isn't possible since polisy is hardware not software. The "new isy" if you will. If you're simply looking to run some nodeservers, you can run polyglot V2 on your Rpi. You can find instructions/videos Here. Just know, it is depracated so the nodeservers for that has a limited shelf life as oems update and make changes to their APIs
  19. Since you don't have any programs, unplug the isy for a few days to see if the behavior continues
  20. This is an Isy forum you're commenting on so i responded based on using the Isy. You also stated using the device with Alexa and not other voice options.
  21. There are no local voice activations unless you're designing your own. Both Alexa and Google integration goes through the portal which is cloud based which then talks to Google or Amazon which is also cloud based. You can test this by turning off your internet. Without an outside connection, you spoken commands will not work
  22. I believe the Node server does use Kasa's local API. However, with Alexa being cloud based, the Alexa connection would still be cloud based. I think it's smart on your part to have 1 integration though.
  23. You would add it like you would any other zwave device. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Users:V5:ZWave:User_Guide
  24. It's the 500 board. I'd upgrade to the most recent firmware (5.4.3) found in the current release and beta sub-forum. If it doesn't show up properly there, submit a ticket
