They aren't discontinuing them completely. They're integrating the technology through their product lines so it's no longer a specific line. You'll find the description as flicker free with warm glow effect. They can easily be found on Amazon and at home depot though stock varies locally. They'll be happy to ship to you though. Hue and most halfway decent (purpose built) electronically controlled bulbs will dim better than a standard led bulb that has to work with a broad range of devices that they have no control over. Even with those types of bulbs, lower isn't always better. The fact is, at the lowest levels, the output really isn't usable.

Try the Phillips warm glow for line of bulbs. Most work really great work insteon

Not necessarily. With tank water heater, your system still cycles to keep a tank full of water at temperature. Even then, when you run hot water, it'll run to re-heat the water that is lost. Depending on how much hot water is used, that process can still require a lot more energy than a recirculating system over all....This is especially so when you consider most can be turned on manually with sensors, a switch, or timer. While some people may allow their systems to run non-stop, they're probably looking more at convenience than they are at cost. Another thing people take into consideration (such as myself) is the overall cost savings. Its like using smart switches to save money on your light bill. Yes, the devices use power all day which adds to your electric bill. However, what they add is still cheaper than leaving the products on that they are meant to control.

Tankless water heaters cant stop water from cooling down in the pipes. This method allows a person to have instant hot water when they turn on their faucet vs running the water until hot water makes it way through the pipes.

Instruction manual for Alloy Z-wave Plus repeater
lilyoyo1 replied to rick.curl's topic in Coffee Shop
That's not a big name around here so help will probably be limited. Have you tried to Google the manual? Most mfg. manuals will pull up if available -
factory reset the device then try again. Make sure that your UI matches the firmware. If you're manually putting in the device address, make sure that its the right one. Sometimes, people mistake a B for an 8 or D

Good Luck on your search. If you go the zwave route, let us know how you like them.

Its wifi so you'll need the nodeserver. One thing I've always asked myself before investing in devices is; what do I want to get out of any given technology?! In this case, its; "what do you want to get out of your thermostat"?! The ecobees and nests of the world have additional features that may fit you better long term. Zwave and direct access are great but zwave thermostats generally lack many of the features that aid in comfort and lifestyle. In addition to that, it does marry you to zwave to a certain degree since you're forced to stay with it unless you decide to completely move on.
-
I don't think much has changed in the thermostat market. It's still the same companies making the same product lines. We use the ecobee premium in our new house. I purchased it more for looks then anything else. Some of the features are gimmicky but overall I like it. Prior to moving I put one in our bedroom. It felt like it compensated for humidity better than my old ecobee 3. If there's a difference in years, I guess I would say the ecobee premium but honestly all of them probably have the same overall performance

Doesn't statements like this apply to everything that stops working? The transformer could be putting noise on the line or the electronics from the bulb as they age. While both still work for what they designed to do, doesn't mean it can't impact other devices that may be susceptible to the effect. No it does not. It's powerline only

A device can only be a controller of 1 scene. You would create a single scene and add every device/kpl button to that scene and control it vs. Each individual scene.

I think this is an individual choice. While the eisy has better performance, I don't know if the amount of work you'll have to do is worth the upgrade. The jump from isy to polisy is much greater then the jump from polisy to eisy. It's like smart phones. Sure the galaxy s23 processor is faster than the galaxy see, but are the gains noticeable enough to justify upgrading?.
-
I don't use X10 nor the app so I can't answer those questions. The isy wiki shows how X10 works without the module you have and what it allows you to do. Without the module you would not be able to name your X10 devices like you can now.
-
Are you sure your "new" one isn't a 994? I don't believe udi is transferring modules anymore; especially when it comes to the 99 which has been disco'd for 10+ years. Unfortunately you're stuck with your setup as is. Eisy should work with x10- you just won't have the devices in the device tree like the module allows.

Its a great node server. I think it would be better overall to let @bpwwerknow what you're looking for so he can debug as his time permits and/or possibly add more of the missing functionality.
-
What limitations are you running into? The nodeserver supports everything the api does except for turning subwoofers off and on
-
Javi responded to you in your previous thread saying that you would need a nodeserver for 2 way communication. Didn't sound like they were willing to develop 2 way communication to be used with NRs
-
Zmatter board allows OTA updates of supported devices (newly released) and able to set device associations such as direct association with zwave devices. Most importantly, UDI plans on supported and updating whereas the zooz dongle will not receive compatibility updates to add features
-
The biggest difference between those apps with Alexa/Google and UDI is that the company which makes each products are doing their own coding which allows them to do things that they may not expose using their APIs.

No it does not. This connects directly to your LG TV for tv control functions. It does not connect to LG services

Nothing unless you recently upgraded your firmware. Depending on your firmware proof to the upgrade, if you upgraded your firmware, your password would change

This nodeserver works great for me especially at it's price point. The only thing missing is being able to turn the subwoofers off/on but hopefully one day @bpwwercould look at that. Some of the things that I'm able to do with it is auto volume control. Instead of needing to adjust the volume manually, my volume will automatically lower the later it gets. If the music is on with the TV, the music will automatically turn down as well. Besides turning off my music when leaving, going to bed, etc; I'm also able to select my playlist based on different conditions without opening up the app. It also works with their newest speakers if you were to ever upgrade to the era line.
-
Im assuming that you upgraded your polisy to the latest firmware. In the firmware notes section, it shows current device compatibility list. That device is not on there.

Range varies due to environment. Being that this is their beta release, it'll be impossible for anyone here to say what range you would get based on their experiences. I suspect either you are too far or your device is not supported. Does it show up on the list on the firmware update page?
