  1. Michel, Did you fix the cPrice problem in .11?
  2. Dang Michel, do you ever sleep? Does .11 have the fix for the web service?

    WeatherBug

I see, I wasn't waiting for the stations to come up. It's all good now. Thanks. Now, how do we use this in the programming?
  4. At my house, that would be my wife. She only know 'ON,' I have been trying to teach her about 'OFF.'

    WeatherBug

I added the WeatherBug module and it doesn't seem to be pulling in the data. So far everything reads 0 (zero). Have I missed something or do I just need to wait?

    WeatherBug

I too will be adding the Davis Weather system to my home. Their units are the best.
  7. Hmm, what are you trying to do? You have the lights turn off when they are off.

    WeatherBug

Ah sorry. I hadn't seen information on it so I wasn't sure what is working.

Now that 2.6.8 is out and there is some sort of weather built in, how do we use it?
  10. This is cause by eiter a proxy or firewall blocking some actions.
  11. OK.. What does that mean exactly? Is it something like subscribing to an online magazine? Yes it is. Each time an event happens, the ISY send the details in a XML file to the computer that issued the subscription. I have my web server subscribe to the ISY. The ISY send the event data to the web server. The web server then reads the data and writes it to a SQL table. It also keeps in memory, the status of every node. I can also query the table top see what has happened in the past for each node. The web service is very powerful.
  12. The best way to do this is to subscribe to the web service.
  13. Put me down for one.

    ISY26 vs ISY99

Great idea, and definitely a tough problem to solve. Even if you did have IR out to all those devices, how do you detect that they're currently on? Okay, I know how, I just don't know what yet. The how is to see if there is a current load higher than the normal stand by. So, we need an Insteon device that will send a trigger when the load reaches a set threshold. I would think that a LampLinc or ApplianceLinc might be able to me modified to do this. I need to open one up and look at it. Maybe Smarthome could see the need for this and build an in-line load sensor. It would be easy and cheap to build.

Michel, I'm not seeing a network enabled device on their website. Am I missing something? What am I missing? Help me Mr Wizard. (Most of you are way too young to remember that.)

    ISY26 vs ISY99

Now that I think of it... I had a Sony TV that had an ON, and OFF and a Toggle command. I wonder if any other TVs havs this and just use the Toggle on the remote Power button. And how would we find this information?

    ISY26 vs ISY99

Good question Mike. One idea is to have a photodiode sit on top of the power diode of the device. That would tell me the TV or DVD player is on. I have also thought of putting ApplianceLincs on the power, then turn them off, wait one second, then turn them back on. That kills the power long enough to turn off the device, the restore line power so the remote works to turn it on again. Either way, that is a problem that needs to be solved. A simple device to communicate the power state of an object. Dang, I sound like a programmer.

    ISY26 vs ISY99

Good morning Michel, When it comes to confidence, I have more in Universal Device than I do Smarthome and SmartHomeNet. I have not seen a company work so much to make another companies product work. You guys are great. Thank you for the information on the Brultech. I hope to own one before the year is out. Like most people, I have several IR devices and I have been looking at systems to allow full control of them. The kids leave TVs and DVD player on all the time. I'd like a way to turn these off with out having to go to every room that has them. Yes, my kids are spoiled. If any of you have idea, please share them. I look forward to the hardware enhancements to the ISY. Maybe Christmas will come early this year (grin). Best regards
  20. I agree wiith Mike. While I don't know how the switch works, I know it does turn on its own load regardless of single or double tap. I do something a little different. I have all my outside light switches set to turn on ALL outside light switches on a double tap on. I can also turn them all off with a double tap off. This is nice when the wife thinks the boogie-woman is running around outside the house.

    ISY26 vs ISY99

Michel, I'm starting not to like you. Just when I thought I was through spending for this year, you tell me I'm not. Item 1. Software - Built into the ISY. Item 2. Hardware - We will need to purchase an ECM-1220.H-WR-200. Item 3. No clue - Please tell us more. Item 4. Software - Built into the ISY Item 5. Software - Built into the ISY On the "many more," I am interested in any hardware enhancements you have planned. At this time, I guess I need, at least, a ECM-1220.H-WR-200. What do I need for it to talk to the ISY? Please tell us as much as you can. Best regards,
  22. Ah, very good idea. As an example, in the Denver Colorado area, we have water restrictions from May 1st to September 30th every year. It would be nice to be able to program that into the ISY.
  23. I am happy to say that I am within two seconds.
  24. Darrell told you what to do to fix it. Try the instructions and see if that fixes your problem.
  25. Hey Gary - Why do you think the ISY cares what its public IP address is? I could be wrong, but I don't think it does. Wel, now that I give it more though, it may not. But as the ISY knows what its public address is (was) and it has changed, maybe it won't respond. This is a question for Michel. Until then, I'd have the ISY boot when ever the router does. Then again, I'd put my router on a UPS. I do this so I still have internet when the house looses power.
