I am curious.... What exactly are you looking for ? I have a Zwave curtain system that, through ISY Portal, work with both Google Home and Alexa.

and I will add another 2cts...... I have MyQ. As I mentioned before, my setup (condo with private garage) requires that the MyQ is connected to the building's public wifi, which works 99% of the time. On the rare occasion that it does not, I just open or close the garage door with the keypad, in-vehicle remote or hand held remote.

I am a little bit lost with ISY on Polisy..... I understand that it is in Alpha stage, and therefore I am not yet going there, but I just want to understand the ultimate objective and know where we are right now. Objective : Access Polisy and Administrative together with same user name and pw ? Current status : My existing ISY would not yet show up in Polisy, and only a "new" ISY " ? No Zwave right now ? UD Mobile : Will eventually do exactly the same as Administrative Console ?

I use @firstone's Holidays Google nodeserver and created a calendar that I named 'Trip". Whenever we go out of town, I add a whole day event for each day using the 'Trip' calendar. In my ISY I have numerous programs * (wake-up, curtains, music) that act or not on the condition of the Trip node created by the Holidays Google nodeserver. This sounds more complicated than it really is and works great for me. BTW I created 9 calendars for different type of events (ex when cleaning lady comes etc) and these are all incorporated in programs. IF Trip Node Today is Not True AND Time is 7 am THEN Curtains open

Thanks so much for your extensive explanation. The quoted above is exactly what I believe, in that Inovelli can not afford substantial more Zwave innovation. I wonder whether the company will ultimately survive. My experience with Inovelli switches and bulbs is that, yes indeed, they bring new and interesting products but I also have more issues with Inovelli than with most other brands. The light bulbs give me constant coms error messages in the Administrative Console, even though they work fine, and the 'No Neutral Needed' switches as well as their other switches, either need the occasional factory reset or other remediation.

I just read this post from Inovelli's Eric on their roadmap. https://community.inovelli.com/t/2021-2022-roadmap/8699 I note their direction of Zigbee for mass market and Zwave for techies. As I have not given much attention to Zigbee, I am not sure to understand the logic. Other may have a better understanding.

Do you have a ISY Portal subscription ? That would be the easy solution. Access would be with ISY Portal username/password.

I need some help as I don't see Polisy in my ISY Portal

I never (or maybe almost never) have an issue loading UD Mobile (which is a real cool App). On the other hand, The AC launcher fails at least half of the time, sometimes with the message that it could not load the nodes and at other times it loads everything but with 100% or 0% instead of ON and OFF. Today I experienced with increasing -Xmx512m to -Xmx1024m. It may be my imagination but I believe that ISY loaded faster and I will observe whether the failing launches still occur.

@Javi Does @MrBillhave a point in that my extensive Zwave network may the issue of my AC launch fail at least 50% of the time ?

I have not figured out yet the difference between local and cloud and I can connect with both. I assume that cloud is related to ISY moving to Polisy, but am not sure. My issue is that at least 50% of the time I get an error message ( 'ISY was not able to load nodes' , or something similar) when launching the AC and then I have to re-launch till it fully opens. At other times, the AC opens with only 100's or 0's instead of On or OFF. I think (and hope) that this will be resolved when ISY moves to Polisy and/or when Java is getting rid of.

my suggestion is for you to exactly follow the steps in 5.3.0 including clearing Java. I have made mistakes in the past by not following all steps. BTW why no straight to 5.3.3 ?

Yes...... It happened to me a few years ago. If you have a Polisy, then use the Inventory nodeserver to identify how many nodes you are using.

For curiosity I just added ISY devices to the Homekit App on my Iphone, via Home Assistant. It works..... though the UD Mobile App is much easier to use. Maybe there is an advantage if I would want to create an automation using my Apple devices, but I don't see the need for this.

My last word on Insteon vs Zwave......... Betamax was better than VHS, but VHS had more manufacturers and won. Then a few years later Tivo replaced VHS....... Now Tivo is practically history as well. I honestly believe that Zwave will outlive Insteon, and then something else will replace Zwave.

Many in this forum prefer Insteon over Zwave. The former allows for faster connection between devices and they also prefer the consistency of the sole manufacturer. I switched to Zwave only when my PLM quit on me and now, with some 80 switches, plug-ins, light bulbs, curtain control, sensors, etc, I am quite happy with my mesh network. I sometimes wonder whether to go back and include a few Insteon sensors and switches to benefit from the faster connection with sensors, but the hassle of getting a PLM again keeps me away. Other than sensors, I have no complaints about my setup. The advantage of the consistency of the sole manufacturer can also be seen as a negative, especially reading all the comments on Smarthome, which appears to be more absent than present. With Zwave you don't have this as there are many alternatives. @Zippy is right to limit himself to a few brands only, especially as different manufacturers use different settings which can be annoying, though newer Zwave devices now often come with auto-inclusion. Personally I prefer the GE/Jasco and Homeseer devices for their performance and Inovelli for their novelty products. Unfortunately, it is also with Inovelli devices that I have most of my issues and I have this love-hate relationship with Inovelli. Having read so many positive comments on Insteon, even if my own experience is different, I believe that if you have a well working Insteon set-up, don't give up on it but when it comes to expansion, consider Zwave. However remember that for the Zwave mesh network to work, you should have sufficient devices throughout your home. I always suggest plug-ins over repeaters to quickly improve your mesh network, because plug-ins (like most if not all non-battery Zwave devices) include a repeater AND are useful to control a lamp or something else.

Understood. I have had zero issues with 5.3.3 (I only have Zwave, no Insteon) and I am not aware, from this forum, that others had serious issues, but do as per your level of comfort. However, do not downgrade the Zwave firmware unless you have an old 300 dongle (which is unlikely)..

DO NOT downgrade. If you have 6.81, it must mean that you have the 500 series Zwave dongle. Furthermore, you should also go straight to 5.3.3 the latest update. Personally I see no reason why you would go through 5.2
