I am not about to change my Zwave wall switches, but the functionality of this Kasa Dimmer looks nice. I have several Kasa plug-ins that I use in programs for a specific "Scene" (I use programs for scenes). For this purpose there is lag (wifi to Polisy to Zwave) but it does the job.

For sure there will be more and different options over the years and this will matter (pun intended...). Right now I would not be a fan of a wifi based home automation system, but it is likely that wifi will evolve as well and not be susceptible to easy overcrowding. My choice remains entirely with UD and ISY as they have shown to adapt to a quality integration of new products and technology. Polisy is only at its very beginning. We all started our home automation at a certain moment, with what we considered the best cost/benefit efficient product available at that time. Then a new option arrived and another one later on..... Most of us did not dump all we had and started all over again, but we tried to work with what we had while as much as possible taking advantage of new options. That is the genius of ISY, first X10 + Insteon + Zwave, and now much more with Polisy.

I use some 10 nodeservers and I make great use of them. Unfortunately a few nodeservers need an occasional restart in the Polisy dashboard, when they stop working in my ISY. That can create havoc to my wake-up programs. I wonder whether it is possible, either in ISY or in Polisy, to set an automatic restart of nodeservers. I tried a program with Re-Discover, but that does not resolve the issue.

Though I don't know if this is factually true, I have read other comments on the 500 series Zwave board reducing the distance. I don't have that issue as I have about 80 Zwave devices. I always give the same advise when people have issues with their Zwave mesh network, which is get a few plug-in devices such as this one. Non-battery Zwave devices extend/repeat the network and plug-in devices are better (and often cheaper) than sole-purpose repeaters in the sense that they can be used to control a lamp or something else. Get a couple of these and put them along the route between your ISY and the fans. Then right click on your fan controllers (and maybe also on the new plug-in devices) and do a Update Neighbors. With the 500 series board this should be automatic but it does not hurt to do it manually.

I wonder if others have the same experience with Inovelli ilumin bulbs. Mine is used in a program whereby a motion sensor triggers the ilumin bulb. Every time the programs triggers I get an error message that the Zwave TX has failed, even though the bulb always works exactly as designed. The same happens with one of my Inovelli Black Series switches. This switch is used without a neutral, so I don't know if that could be the issue. Again, as with the bulb, the switch always works as designed. The error pop-up messages are annoying because I have my Administrative Console open most of the day, but because everything works as designed it is not a major issue. The commonality between the bulb and the switch is of course Inovelli and I am open to get another bulb if someone recommends a particular Zwave multi-color bulb. I could open a ticket with UDI but I am first trying to see if someone else has seen the same issue.

Not my experience. I have both Alexa and GH. Though I generally prefer GH, in the case of my curtains, with Alexa they open almost instantaneously.

Now that I think of it, why not create a Scene with the Ceiling Fan and add the Scene to Favorites. That should give either 0 (zero) or 100 % showing you whether the device is On or Off.

You are right. It did not address your specific concern. I believed that my comment was appropriate in the category of UD Mobile and Favorites. Creating a new category for each and every comment does not seem right to me, but I understand your feeling that my comment was not a reply to yours. Hopefully a solution will be found for your specific suggestion.

For my purpose, the App is now perfect. The Favorites show the % of each Scene, and my case I use a Scene for each room and the display now shows me a % to indicate if lights are on in that room. If I want know more (and possible switch On or Off lights) I just click on the Scene and all the devices show with the options to change status. Very nice.

I manage my Son's ISY and can easily access his ISY by adding his uuid to my ISY launcher, but sometimes I need access to his Polisy to update or restart a nodeserver. I believe that when ISY will ultimately move to Polisy, remote access will be possible. However I am wondering if it would already be possible by opening the port assigned to the Polisy.

But the semantics seem to complicate it more than needed ?

Last night I had several crashes and I sent two crash reports. Almost every time I do a synch either the App crashes or all devices & scenes disappear. The last synch, before going to bed, it restored the devices and scenes, but did not restore favorites. When I manually added some scenes, some of these were empty. If I have time later today, I will follow Javi's instructions .

After creating a new scene in ISY and then doing a synch in the App, everything disappeared again. I had reboot the ISY again, connecting the network in settings (App) twice, do a few synchs and it is working again. Consistently several Scenes do not show a percentage and I wonder whether it could be because they may each include a non Plus Zwave device.

It largely works now. This is what I did : In Settings of the App I clicked on 'Test system on remote url' and the system connected successfully. I then added each of the relevant scenes to Favorites as Node (not folder). Now all but 2 of my 18 Scenes (in Favorites) show the percentage. I have to figure out why 2 scenes do not, but if I get this to fully work, then it absolutely corresponds to what I am looking for and it can then replace Mobilinc Pro (*) (*) Mobilinc Pro has been replaced by Mobilinc X, which I consider a downgrade from Pro.

It may not be related, but after creating that scene and performing a synch in the App, all my devices and scenes disappeared from the App :

I am not sure to understand but I just verified the following : I have a program like IF light A is switched (Control) On THEN light B is On With this program, when in the Administrative Console, I turn light A on, then light B does NOT go On. Light B only goes On when I manually click the switch A up. That how it is by design and how I want it. If I would have wanted light B to go On whenever light A is set On (whether from the switch or in the AC), then the program should have been : IF light A Status is On THEN light B is On That is how I see the difference between Status and Control

My use of Status vs Control has been that Control is when the switch is manually pressed, while Status includes a change (or current reading) whether manual or in the Administrative Console (program or clicking on the node). Am I wrong ?

I agree and it would also be nice if favorites page could show % of lights On in each folder that I have in my UD Mobile. It is, for me, the only thing missing in this very nice App.
