  1. Yes too old. It is supported in the 3.3.4 Beta (RC1) Firmware. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=9834
  2. The ELK-912B is made for a DC voltage. Doorbells are 24 volts AC most times. The AC will cause the inductive spike diode across the relay coil. To short the input on every reversed polarity of the 24 volt AC being applied. May also damage the LED Indicator on the assembly. When set to 24 volts. It looks like a dropping resistor is used in series with the coil input. On 24 volts. The resistor may overheat. When set for 24 volts. You maybe able to add a small bridge rectifier to the Input so the 24 AC is always the correct polarity on the Input of the ELK-912B. Though lumpy DC {unfiltered DC} may make the relay chatter. Guess a filter cap could also be included.
  3. I am using the Doorbell Kit. Though I had the individual parts and just followed the kits instructions. Mine is in the cellar. At the bell transformers location. The ELK-930 is triggered by the bell currant and can be installed anywhere in the wiring for the bell. As long as the bells current flows through the ELK-930 bell sensor board. In my case. I am using the common terminal of the transformer and both the back and front bell trigger the sensor. I am triggering an X10 Powerflash module for a X10 chime module, but have also used the same ELK-930 and an I/OLInc to trigger Appliancelincs with CFLs on them.
  4. The five pin programming connections. Means that they can be reflashed with the proper programmer and source files. Smartlabs and Smarthome just don't offer that option. I don't have any of the thermostats so can't answer that part of the question.
  5. 1) No the firmware in Insteon Devices is not field upgradeable and Smarthome/Smartlabs does not offer such a service, but we continue to ask. Most of the modules do have the five pin programming pads or headers in them.
  6. That is how I also read it. Manual linking needed the power On to accomplish it. A controller should be able to do it with the Insteon ID and no power up sequence.

    INSTEON Chime

No. That is why my X10 Chime Modules are still being used. Along with a few HR12A Palm Pads. No sixteen button Insteon remotes either. As you may have guessed. Many of my Insteon Modules have an x10 address in them. I believe some have used an I/OLinc to switch a chime or sounder On and Off. In the Smarthome Forums. A user added a small sounder to an I/OLinc and used its small 5 volt power supply to power it. I have never tried it myself. http://www.smarthome.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8037
  8. Canceled the order. Got tired of the never ending Expected Ship Dates slipping and then seeing early users having QC problems. Like the center contact of the bulbs connections falling out when they unscrewed it from the lamp. They also seem to be directional and in my table lamps would probably light my ceiling. I have a few other LED bulbs that also light my ceilings. I believe they are both power line and RF controlled. The Manual Linking method is start the controllers linking function and then screw the bulb into the socket. It stays in that mode for a very short time. Now that 3.3.4 supports it directly. Users should be able to add them to their systems.
  9. The screw in the bulb is only for manual linking not through an intelligent controller like the ISY99i or ISY994i. The bulb at power up only stays in its linking mode for a few seconds. If you didn't update to 3.3.4 yet. Here is the link. Make sure you follow all the steps. Like clearing the Java Cache. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=9834
  10. Thanks for sharing your nice modification.
  11. There is a thread over on the Smarthome Forums. With some similar findings. I believe Smarthome is having them return all six they had. http://www.smarthome.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11509 The sales page. Indicates it sends an On to Group 1 when Dry. An On to Group 2 when wet. An On to Group 4 as a Heartbeat.

    ISY Clock

I have mine set to sync to the NTP Server ever 12 hours. I believe that requires the location be set correctly. I used a custom one only because there was no real close choice to my town. If you have the NTP server enabled. Does the time change if you do a Synchronize now?

    ISY Clock

I have mine checked and it looks correct to me.
  14. You will need more information on the fireplaces controls model number. There is no universal RF frequency used by all manufacturers. So you would have to know the model so it maybe possible to find the frequency it used and maybe the codes also.
  15. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=9612
  16. Well it is listed in the drop down list. In 3.3.3.
  17. Page 9 of the RemoteLinc 2 manual shows how to set it to non toggle 8 button. Always sends an On and not an alternate of an On then an Off. Older Remotelinc doesn't have any non toggle modes that I can see.
  18. Well I am not a good one with programming. That said. It does look like you are sending multiple signals in a rapid fashion. You maybe flooding the power lines with signals. Depending on which ones got through different lights may or may not change as commanded.
  19. I tried an original v.24 2476D and after making the changes through My Lighting. Cycling the power by pulling the Air Gap Switch and waiting for maybe 15 seconds. Then gently pushing the switch back to its Normal position. The new settings took. Only thing to watch is if you push the Air gap Switch all the way in. A factory reset is done.

    Java 7

I can say 32 bit Java 7 is working OK for me. V7, Update 7, build 1.7.0_07-b10

    REPLACING PLM

Since almost all X10 devices are receive only and Insteon modules are two way. Sometimes the more Insteon devices you add the less reliable the X10 devices are and more reliable the Insteon gets. Reason is the transmitter circuit loads the signal down somewhat and Insteon modules only resend Insteon messages to each other. It could be possible that the X10 commands properly. I have never seen a new 2413S have the problem but do have an older 2412S that flaked out on X10.
  22. Do you have the ELK M1 EXP Interface with your M1? It is mentioned in the ELK configuration in the wiki. http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... figuration You may also find more help in the ELK section here if you have not looked yet. viewforum.php?f=17
  23. Iris seems to be a unconventional system. There are some Zigbee devices in the mix. From what I have seen on their support pages.
  24. As a battery powered device. The Motion Sensor goes into a power saving mode and will not respond to a query. The status display in the administrative pane is the last known state. If I have a Switchlinc showing On and I use an X10 command to turn it Off. The consoles still shows On as it didn't process the X10 Off.
  25. If you try the Air Gap power cycle. When you push it in. Only go to its normal position. If you push it all the way in you can factory reset it.
