Support thread for: PG3x v3.2.8 (OUTDATED)

The Zwave backup option is only available on Polisy/Eisy when you have the Zmatter board from UD. -

Are you running the Zmatter board or another Zwave stick? Are your Zwave devices named ZWXXX or ZYXXX? -
@tas99 Yes For the 994 the PLM cable is a standard Ethernet cable...
-
When you moved to the new location did you plug in the PLM first wait about 10 seconds or so and then boot up your ISY???
-
@smokegrubThat is exactly what he was referring to.

The USB version of the Zmatter controller is exactly the same card as the USB version. To backup Zwave in AC select Zwave then down the list is backup. Do this then backup ISY and it will include the Zwave backup.

It is my understanding the 994 does not support i3 devices. I am sure someone will correct me if I am not correct.

Admin console won't load programs - stuck in Create Scene Widgets
tlightne replied to photogeek54's topic in IoX Support
@photogeek54 I do not know what resets that my Laptop does that as well. Maybe a Java upgrade. So I go in and check it when I notice the AC is slow.. Glad you are now up and working... -

tlightne replied to photogeek54's topic in IoX Support
From an old post maybe will help.... Admin Console is very slow or hangs If the admin console is slow to respond, it is likely you need to increase the amount of memory allocated to the Java runtime (JRE). Open the Java Control Panel, select Java tab, press View button, then add or modify the Runtime Parameter -Xmx to the following: -Xmx512m Press Ok to close the window, then Press Apply to save the changes -
I think we need a little more information so we can help you. What controller? Insteon or Zwave devices? Firmware?

Since the 994 is no longer supported by UDI now would be a great time to upgrade to Eisy..
-
I would stick to Zwave. The more devices you have the better the network.
-
@Javi Thank you got it done.....

@DennisC I had already completed both the iox and Zwave backup from Polisy. After restoring to Eisy the option was not available to backup Zwave. All has been resolved at this point and Everything is running on Eisy..

I have migrated from my Polisy to Eisy and I would like to move my UD Mobile favorites from Polisy to Eisy and remove Polisy from UD Mobile. Is there a secret? I have looked in help but no success.. Thank you...

Chris Jahn replied 30 minutes ago Hi Terry, >>I have completed a backup of my Polisy including a Zwave backup. I will be moving the Polisy internal Zmatter board to the USB enclosure for us on the Eisy.. If you were using ZMatter Z-Wave on Polisy (i.e. 'ZY' nodes) and its somehow reverted back to original Z-Wave when you restored your backup onto eisy, the best thing would be to: 1) Restore your Polisy backup onto eisy again 2) Go to configuration tab and press "Migrate to ZMatter Z-Wave" and then choose the "Start using the ZMatter Z-Wave+ dongle without migration" 3) Restart IoX From there you should see and operate your Z-Wave devices correctly on eisy Restored lox backup one more time and rebooted Eisy. This time Zwave came up as it should have and all my devices are now working.

Well that did not go as planned. I have restored my backup from Polisy to Eisy plugged in the PLM to eisy and booted up the Eisy. It looks like all the Insteon devices have restored to Eisy and Eisy can talk to them Zwave is another story. The Eisy is doing a query and trying to restore the Zwave devices but they are naming them as ZW not ZY devices. I removed one window sensor from the system and readded it and it is also added back in as a ZW not ZY. Just FYI there is no longer an option to restore or backup Zwave when I look in Zwave on Admin Consol... I was able to run my Node servers on Eisy by doing the portal migration then reinstalling the node servers on Eisy. I have updated my ticket to UD and awaiting a reply.

Opened a ticket with UD Support and Michel responded today. I am posting my data from the ticket as well as Michel's response. See @bpwwer response above for PG3x migration to Eisy. Terry Lightner reported 2 days ago I am going to be moving from Polisy 5.7.0 FreeBSD 13.1 with internal Zmatter board and PG3x 3.2.4. I have read the Eisy Users guide but it refers to migration to the eisy for Zwave. I am confused. I have completed a backup of my Polisy including a Zwave backup. I will be moving the Polisy internal Zmatter board to the USB enclosure for us on the Eisy.. When I get ready to complete the move I assume I restore my backup from Polisy to Eisy, power down Eisy and connect to my existing PLM reboot Eisy. At this time I assume insteon and Zwave should be operational. Is that a good assumption? Do I simply do a restore of my PG3x node servers to Eisy since they are already PG3x from Polisy? Can I add the Eisy to the PG3x dashboard ahead of time? Then I will complete the Portal migration to the Eisy which will also transfer the Node server licenses correct? Michel Kohanim replied 6 hours ago Hi Terry, Yes. But, once you restore your backup, you will also need to make sure both INSTEON and Z-Wave checkboxes are checked in Admin Console/Configuration tab. Please do not try to add node servers from polisy to eisy ahead of time. They are all going to point locally to eisy. So, once done migrating IoX, then migrate PG3x. I will be doing the move to Eisy on Wednesday or Thursday this weel and will update results when complete.

@bpwwer Bob Thank you...

@rick.curl I am using the Bond basic bridge with two different ceiling fans. You install any remote control fan kit in the fan and set the bridge to find it. You can control the fan by using the remote that comes with the kit or your Eisy with the bond node server. I have had no issued with the Bond bridge..

@Geddy Thank you for the response. I thought the migration process for LOX and Zmatter were going from 994 500 zwave to polisy/eisy Zmatter.. Since I am moving the Zmatter board to the Eisy all the data should be there already. Sometimes I am too logical so that may not be correct..

Received my new Eisy and have it connected to my network and upgraded to 5.7.0 with FreeBSD at 13.2. I am going to be moving from Polisy 5.7.0 FreeBSD 13.1 with internal Zmatter board and PG3x 3.2.4. I have completed a backup of my Polisy including a Zwave backup. I will be moving the Polisy internal Zmatter board to the EISY USB enclosure. As always thank you for your help....
