dgeffs Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Trying to run the Elk console and I get "Application Blocked by Security Settings". I've read the Wiki and set up the Elk and ISY according to the instructions. I know the Elk is connected because all my Elk data is present. It's got to be something simple I'm missing. Oh, and I am using 2101 and not the secure port.
Michel Kohanim Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Hi dgeffs, What is ELK console? With kind regards, Michel
dgeffs Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 There is a button at the top of the ISY Admin Console that is labeled "Go to ELK Console". Since I can't get there I'm not sure what this is. I do have the ELK module installed and it appears operational.
jmed999 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I just tried clicking on "Go to ELk Console" on the ISY Admin console and got the same error.

After entering your code an Elk keypad pops upland allows you to arm/disarm your alarm system. Dennis
apostolakisl Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Just to be clear, that console is not an ISY entity. That button is just a link to the console hosted by your Elk which you can manually go to by putting entering the Elk IP address in your web browser. Why you are getting an error I do not know, but it isn't a button you really should need to use.
dgeffs Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 If that's all it is I certainly don't need it. Thanks for the explanation.
apostolakisl Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Yes, and your getting blocked because of your Java/Windows security settings.
jmed999 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 What should those settings be and how to change them? Thanks!
Xathros Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Likely just need to add the Elk URL into the Java exception list. similar to adding the ISY to the exception list for the older firmwares that are no longer supported by Java without a manifest file. See: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=13910&p=108831&hilit=Add+ISY+to+exception+list#p108831 -Xathros
CJVann Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Note that if you've updated your M1XEP (Ethernet Expander) to Version 2, the Elk Console is no longer supported. After the update, instead of connecting to your Elk via the IP address in a browser, you use their M1ToGo program.
